We knew the place we chose (mountain top) was beautiful on its own, but they managed to find even better spots and more incredible shots than we could have even imagined. What looked like an ordinary golf course and bench, for example, turned into this gorgeous fall foliage field. They experimented with drones, giving us these unreal artistic shots, but the heart of who they are was taking photos of our special moments -- tears, laughter, love, dancing and all. And they froze their butts off with us to get it done in unseasonably cold weather! Plus, damn, they are well-oiled machines, with such organization and precision to make sure we got all the photos we wanted without having to spend a lot of time away from the celebration. When the big day came, we felt very comfortable with him and he (along with 2 other photographers) did a great job managing our family and bridal party for group shots. Many guests commented that our photographers were awesome throughout the evening. This skill should not be overlooked when you are evaluating a wedding photographer! In the end, we were thrilled with the quality and variety of pictures. The photo journalistic style captured the true essence of the day and there were a lot of really fun shots. To top it off, all of JPG's wedding packages include a DVD or thumb drive of high-res images with personal use rights - which means you have full flexibility when it comes to albums and prints. Since we were doing a very small 'pop-up' style wedding, we knew we wanted someone who would not only be able to capture the short ceremony, but also the entire day surrounding it as we traveled from the hotel to meet our family, and all left together for the reception dinner. We initially selected Mike Allebach of Allebach Photography to take some photos of us for our 20th…read moreanniversary with the thought that we would have a beautiful framed photo as a result. What we envisioned and what we ended up with was literally a million-fold better - and that is not an exaggeration. Mike spoke with each of us separately prior to the shoot and then we set a time and date for the shoot. Mike suggested the Philadelphia Art Museum during the 'golden hour' at the end of the day. I cannot even begin to tell you what a fantastic time we had with Mike and the actual shoot was an amazing experience full of fun and laughter. The photos were taken all around the Art Museum and Schuylkill River area and while it was a busy crowded day; Mike managed to frame the shots so it looked as if we were the only one there. Many have asked if we cleared the area for our photoshoot because of Mike's skillful photography. The resulting images were also amazing and instead of one framed photo, we ended up with a beautiful 6 foot collage of photos printed on metal that is now a prominent art installation in our home. We also ended up choosing fifty (50) - yes, FIFTY - of the images Mike shot that day for our collection. Mike absolutely did a fantastic job and created amazing works of art out of two ordinary people who have been together for twenty years. Everyone who sees the photos and knows us always says that the photos are "absolutely you guys". I should mention that we are a gay male couple and Mike was very comfortable with us as we were with him; he is very easy to work with and truly one of the most laid back photographers I have known - and I have known many. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mike Allebach to any straight, gay, trans-gendered or any other flavor of person for any photos they may want from boudoir to personal to professional. He is truly an amazing and gifted artist/photographer.

It's tough to come up with a 40th birthday gift for an estranged spouse. These days, the only thing we have in common is our children, so it seemed fitting to include them somehow. In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about.
