Came across lightyear studio through one of my friends. I went onto their site and emailed them right away to set up an appointment. They got back to me that same day! Anyway, went and met with Nathan (owner and photographer/videographer). He was extrememly professional, went over packages, showed me what was included in each package (yes he has samples of almost all of his albums in his package). After viewing some examples, I knew they would be the company I wanted for my wedding. He documented everything and provided me with a copy. Any requests I had, he made sure to put it down on paper just so there is no confusion the day of. BTW, I believed their prices are extremely reasonable for the service the provide (and trust me...I looked around at tons of places) There were plenty more communication before the day of (engagement session, upgrades to my package after seeing the photos from my engagement session, etc) and everything went just as I wanted sooooo..... Fast forward to wedding day... I had a team of 4 people. They arrived promptly and had their equipment all set. I was stressing so bad that day, but Lightyear Studio calmed me down and informed me that there was still time and not to worry. They went and took pictures of other details then came back to me when I was ready. Not once did I ever feel rushed with them. After the ceremony, we went to a small historic town that Thanh (another photographer/owner) chose and it was PERFECT. The setting was just what I wanted. When we first started evaluating vendors for our wedding photo and video services, we took the time to gather references from friends, and viewed samples on their websites. We noticed each vendor had their unique style, and it was up to us to decide which ones matched our taste. As we narrowed down the list (with considerations to package, pricing, and availability), there were aspects that stood out which made going with Lightyear Studio the best decision yet! We scheduled an appointment to meet with Nathan (the owner) in person, and you could immediately tell that he had a passion for his work. He showed us various samples to give us a sense of his directing style, video editing techniques, and overall cinematography approach. Through his work, you feel him drawing the audience into that moment in time with the perfect blend of visuals, sounds, transitions, and emotions. I'm not sure what is the driving motivation behind his craft, but you got a sense that he understood how important each and every moment was for each of his clients, and made sure his team was there to encapsulate it. As it led up to our big day, Nathan and Thanh kept in touch with us to help plan out the logistics, and offered helpful tips to make our day more efficient. They also asked us what were some important elements of the wedding to us, and gave us a walkthrough of how the day may transpire to ensure their team would be there every step of the way. They also inquired who were some of the other vendors we hired (venue, DJ/MC, etc.) to ensure that all of them could work collaboratively as the wedding day unfolded. Their constant open channel of communication was invaluable, and they were very flexible as we had last minute logistical changes the week leading up to the big day. On the day of the wedding, Thanh and the team arrived even earlier than expected to ensure they were set up to capture everything from the beginning. We noticed it wasn't just Thanh giving out the orders to team, but each of the guys played a vital role, and voiced their opinions when they felt strongly about how a certain position, lighting, etc. could work better. Seeing that first hand gave us a sense that they trusted each other, and reinforced our trust in them. Even following the wedding, Nathan called us to ask if we would want to help provide additional content that could be overlaid on top of the film. It was one thing to be the subject of the photo and films, but this made us feel like we were truly partners in the whole process. Lightyear Studio certainly went above and beyond in all facets. A few days into our honeymoon, we received a message from them letting us know that they had created a video of our first dance. We had not asked for this, so it came as a wonderful surprise, and allowed us to reminisce only days removed from the wedding. A few weeks later, they published a preview of the photos that they had taken for us to share with family and friends to continue to relive the day. We had also ordered a wedding album, and they were thoughtful to have it completed in time before Thanksgiving for us to show our family during the holiday. At last, the wedding film.. There are absolutely not enough words to describe how perfect it came out. Nathan was able to take the footage from the day, break it apart, and weave it together again to make a magical, heartwarming, and tearjerking montage of our story and our wedding day. I hired Lightyear Studio for my engagement and wedding photography and the photos turned out absolutely amazing and beautiful. Everyone that saw my photos were amazed at the excellent quality of work the owner, Nathan, provided. He photographed my wedding 2 years ago and I still get messages from friends on who took my photography. My engagement session was at Bakers Beach in San Francisco. Lightyear Studio helped find the place and it turned out to be above and beyond perfect. The scenery was of the Golden Gate Bridge and of the beach and ocean. That day was so memorable because the photographers were very in tune to capturing the moment and knowing how we should pose and where we should stand. The photos are so stylistic and journalistic that it turned out even better then I could ever imagine. Words cannot even describe how amazing Lightyear Studio is at what they do. The literally create art out of candid photos and video shots. We could not be happier with the photos and videos we received. Nathan and Thanh are the best photo/video team and can capture any special occasion. We were lucky to have them at our wedding which was an all day affair. Not only did they travel from Philly to NJ on a summer Saturday morning, but they arrived early! Nathan had some very creative ideas which we incorporated into our photos/videos. They also incorporated ideas/requests we had.
