But indoors the mini supermarket is a useful spot for picking up those last minute forgotten items. For some reason though you can buy firewood! The chaps outside aka the rude boys are to be avoided and sadly most of them rent their vehicles from the car rental place down the road, which is obvious when you see how badly they drive.

Petrol is a tad expensive here, pretty common for BP, I did find the petrol prices weren't as bold and obvious and the sign outside was much smaller than most other petrol stations, I didn't notice it at first anyway. Prices are also high in the outlets and the store. I wasn't impressed with the service either, a man who worked in the service station seemed to come over and shout over me in a foreign language to talk to the Subway staff, I get they're bored as it was a quiet day but they seemed to wait until a customer was actually there in order to shout, and it left me feeling rather uncomfortable. There wasn't much of a parking area for people who just wanted to go to Subway or go into the store without getting petrol, without feeling like getting in the way. I do find it strange that on the websites of businesses located here including Subway and Amazon Locker, they call it "Shell Bridgeman Place", my only guess is that this was recently a Shell garage before being converted over to BP, it still was pretty confusing as I was expecting a Shell Garage here. 3* - OK, the location in the town centre is handy, as well as housing a poor Subway branch but still one of the few non-halal stores in the area.

The store is open 24/7 as you'd expect, they have a Starbucks Coffee machine inside and a small range of food/grocery items, some items were reasonably priced for a petrol station and not ultra-expensive, but obviously, you wouldn't want to buy food items from here unless you had no other option as they still end up costing considerably more than nearby supermarkets. Petrol is, of course, a little expensive here as you'd expect. The overall service station was pretty clean, I liked how they have a clear pathway from the street for pedestrians who want to access the store which is handy, although it is a good walk from Burnley town centre and even Barracks Station, so I would say to come in a car if you're able too. Sadly, there are no Amazon Locker facilities here, although a nearby Texaco garage/service station which is just under a mile away does offer them, I do think they're missing a trick by not offering them here, however, as there is a lack of them in Burnley as a whole. 4*

Even from the outside you can see that this petrol station is quite nice. We stopped to get some snacks on the way to the park. It was very convenient as it has a bit more than the average petrol station as well as a Subway. I like that more petrol stations are offering options like Subway... just because it is a convenience store, doesn't mean I want to eat burgers and chips all the time. And if you don't want Subway, you can pick up other sandwiches, veg, and fruit. All of it looked quite fresh and enticing! In addition, they offer Costa Coffee and a small selection of bakery items. And as we were waiting in the queue at Subway, we were able to connect to the free WiFi. When it is busy, finding parking if you are not filling up can be a bit tricky, but I find that to be a problem at most petrol stations. Overall, it is a really nice petrol station and I wish it were closer to us so it could be our usual petrol station.

I wouldn't have said they were the cheapest place in town -- the petrol always seemed cost a couple of pence more than the lowest price locally, and as usual if you want to buy anything else there you'll pay heavily for the convenience factor -- but if you want a friendly petrol station, this is definitely the place to go. The cafe has been relocated to the new upper floor but is woefully short of toilets, a whole two and they're both intended for the diasbled however a wheelchair user would need to run the gauntlet of the tray carrying cafe customers and the closely placed tables in order to use them. To say the layout wasn't very well thought out is a bit of an understatement. Unfortunately the store also has a thriving home delivery service which has expanded into the carpark. Shoppers use the free parking spaces at Tesco to visit the newly built Eagles Meadow Shopping Mall which is opposite the store making parking in what was already a small carpark almost impossible on a saturday. At peak times you'll be queuing to get in and queing to get out.

One thing I do not like is, if you are coming down towards this garage, you have to go into a side street, wait at the lights and go back down the road if in the car, but to be honest it is just the way the road is set out, and it isn't the garages fault. The garage (not the Starbucks) is open 24 hours, 7 days a week so that is quite useful too. This store also has a Jetwash and Carwash and is one of the bigger BP garages, that does most things you would expect from some BP Garages so I do have to give 4 stars as this is probably one of the best BP garages in the North West. UPDATE: In November 2014 it seemed I run out of superlatives to describe this garage, and I can't help but feel having visited over 39 times now (the amount of check-ins I have in Yelp) I was in awe of this petrol station having a Starbucks, which is simply an average Starbucks with much higher pricing due to being a franchise store, with my drink costing 50p more in the worst of cases. It is pretty expensive for fuel and even food, with the Subway here costing more than I've ever experienced before for extras (such as double meat or an extra filling) The Spar shop is okay, the stock is a little limited and prices are a tad expensive, as you'd expect from a place like this. I like the separate parking area which makes it easy if you don't want to buy fuel, and instead, want to just go into the shop or access one of the food businesses or Amazon Lockers, compared to other petrol stations which don't really have designated areas. 3* - Average service station, I wouldn't come here if I had much of a choice but it is OK, and useful in its' town centre location.
