This particular store had an enormous parking lot, was super clean on the inside. When you entered, there were these scanners you could go ahead and choose to use, the reason? You could go ahead and scan your groceries ahead of time so that when you brought them up, they were already rang up and all the cashier had to do was bag them and take your money. Frankly, none of them were in use. Seems a bit like a lot of wasted money if you ask me, but that's just my opinion The stores carry fashions (Not a lot but some) House wares, grilling things and of course groceries and liquor. Yes, unlike Florida, they actually sell liquor in their stores. I know other states sell hard liquor but we only sell beer and wine. (le sigh) I really enjoy shopping in the UK because their selections were so different than ours. Bacon over here is not like bacon over there, we have "Streaky bacon" they have Rashers (Thin ham like slices which are salty and delicious), their meats are different but tasty and their produce come in different names for the same veggies (courgettes are zucchini) I loved the "Foreign" foods selections, which was tiny, and filled with mostly American foods. And of course the WALL of beans. Frankly I wish we'd get a Tesco here, and keep it filled with the UK selections.

The car park is terrible - it's really difficult to park here at peak times (i.e Friday evenings/weekends) and the car park dosen't seem to be very well monitored. All this said however, depsite them not having the choice of the bigger stores, you can get some more unusual products here such as specialist olives, cheeses and breads. It's the upper end of shopping!

Driving on the left hand side is not something to choose easily....I have only done it once before in 1982 in Jamaica and it was fine because I was incredibly young and the roads were less travelled back then but it's hard to change. I know many accidents/ deaths that have happened because of this. Anyway we decided to do the train bit. When we arrived at the York train station we had some time to wait so Joe said " Go check out the Booths" I already knew this is a grocery store chain in England and had seen it before But I was blown away at this one and was surprised to find it at the Windermere train station. I spent a good 45 minutes in there and purchased many items for our next destination. Beautiful produce and it also had a whole bakery area and a area with pharmacy type items too. I made several Thai dishes and Booths had all the necessary ingredients from fish sauce to palm sugar to dried kaffir lime leaves. Prices are much lower and the selection much larger than you'd find in London. Try £26 for a bottle of Veuve, and yes we bought a case for Christmas lunch! If you're self catering in the Lake District and are looking for quality well above your average Tesco Express, be sure to make the drive to Booths.

The main entrance has a good selection of plants & baby apple trees for sale. Inside facilities They have public toilets that comes in handy for those long journeys. Tesco now have their own cafe's in some of the newer larger stores, l decided to order something to go from here and it was cheap and pretty good value for money, a southern fried chicken wrap with fries was just short of £5. The main store also sells a selection of clothing as well as the usual items that they generally sell.

All we needed for a good dinner…read more After a long day (coming with the ferry from Ireland) and a bit of a drive we were looking forward to a home-cooked dinner. All we needed were the products. And on this Road Trip we've been always very happy with the products from Tesco. So we headed to Annan to stock up on groceries. It's a mid-sized Tesco, but had everything we needed that day. Dry-Aged steaks, Guacamole, Milk, Garlic Naan (always great, just 1£), fresh Salmon, veggies, beer and wine. Always a good stock of wines in Tesco, for good prices and every budget. Quality was - as usual - very good. Steak was nice and tender. Salmon tasted fresh too. Also a good moment to fill up the gas at Tesco's Gas Station and get some cash at the ATM outside. Another good visit at Tesco's.
