Absolutely the best gun shop around. I've been coming here for a couple years now, and have always found new and amazing firearms. The staff is fully knowledgeable on all the products they sell. All the firearms I've purchased are of high quality and mint condition. They are priced very reasonable and will work with you, just gotta be clear on what you want to do. I highly recommend this spot!!!!!!!! read more

Great experience, with Donny and Tanner this week. Spar has exceptional customer service! Highly recommend

Went in today because my wife has been on the search for a specific handgun. Was stoked to have finally found it for her since we have been looking all month. I let them know that she was at work and was going to drop by afterwards to buy it. They said "Awesome we will see her later". I then proceeded to buy a bunch of mags for my other rifle. We live over an hour away from this store. My wife drove over an hour to get there and then they refused to sell the firearm to her or even run her through pics. Will never go back here. They wasted our time and our fuel. Could have just told me while I was in there not to send her. Looked into the laws, since she is my wife there is 0 laws stating they can not sell her the firearm. Especially considering I can and do also own firearms. I even offered to come in so they could run us both through pics and he said he wouldn't let her buy it regardless to us nothing passing background checks. The guy at the counter just wanted to flex some weird sense of authority. Sorry I ever gave these guys business. Very dishonest and rude. We will now be driving 3 hours to get the same firearm at a better price anyways. Screw this place. read more

Guns, guns, and more guns. And ammo. Lots of it at fair prices. These guys are very competitive in pricing and always try to earn your business. The selection of firearms is excellent and the store is always full of most anything you could possibly want. If they don't have it, they'll get it for you. They also have excellent sale and clearance prices on new and used firearms. Some of the best deals can be found on the used items and I don't mind pre-owned guns. They won't sell you crap! They also purchase used guns and pay very fair prices. The really nice thing about his place is being next door to Black and Bleu, where you can always get a drink and nice dinner. Great shop, excellent prices, knowledgeable staff, and huge selection makes this my preferred place to purchase all of your firearm needs. read more

Good service decent amount firearms selection also little wiggle room for used firearms definitely recommend this business

I'm new to PA from New Jersey and am a firearms owner. I went to SPAR to make my first purchase in PA and could not have had a better experience. I traded in 2 handguns to make the new purchase and was treat more than fairly. They not only had the piece I wanted but the salesman Dakota was polite and very pleasant to work with and was happy to show me as many pistols as I wanted to look at, when it came time to conclude the purchase the manager (whose name I'm sorry I never got) was also helpfu, polite and efficient. All in all an excellent experience and my next purchase will be made there. read more

A much better experience than purchasing guns at Bass Pro, Cabelas, Dicks or Field and stream. You may pay for the good service in pricing though. Spar is family owned (fun fact: The same family owns black n blue). They are honest when it comes to pricing. In fact we tried to buy my savage rifle there to support local, but they could not beat Dicks price. Instead of swaying us to buy something in house, they told us Dicks deal was amazing and to go for it! Their used gun selection is very fair! Their accessories are easy to find and employees and extremely informed on looking out for what's important for the client. Worth a visit! Check out the used guns and collectable selection! read more

I can not say enough on how kind all the guys were when I brought my deceased fathers hands guns in. I was trying to figure out if they had any worth. They took their time researching each of them. I never felt like I was bothering them or wasting their time. They were so nice. And unbelievably patient. I would totally trust them for any purchase made. Very knowledgeable. Glad to have a shop like this in Mechanicsburg.Lisa read more

I won't argue that they have an ok selection and knowledge people working here. I will say PRAY if you buy a suppressor anywhere that the have a Silencer Shop machine to do fingerprints. I drove an hour to Spar to use their machine since it was the closest one to where I live and ended up having to pay $40 just to use it for 5 minutes since my local shop doesn't have one. If I was going to add an additional comment it would be their ammo is overpriced. I just bought Remington Core-Lokt in 270 at my local shop for $26.99 and they're charging $39.99 read more

Great gun store, with even better people. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They quickly assembled an AR-15 lower out of parts I purchased from them. I liked the service there so much that I went back a couple of days later and bought a pistol. Frank, in particular, seems like an all-around great guy. I've been to a lot of gun stores, and this place is a new favorite. If I lived closer, I would go there all of the time. read more

Pay no mind to the negative reviews complaining about things like lack of accessories. They're not going have every obscure customized holster or m-lok rail piece for your $3000 bench shooter. That's what places like Amazon, Brownells, optics planet, etc are for. Beyond that, this place is hands down one of the best gun shops I've ever been to. Just cool people, very friendly, patient, and helpful and a more than adequate selection of firearms. Kyle in particular has helped me a few times and is both very knowledgeable as well as a down to earth chill dude. Seriously, great attitudes all around. All it takes is to step one foot in any of your typical run of the mill gunshops with sneering, condescending and unhelpful tough guy wannabes on a power trip behind the counter with holsters sucked under layers of belly fat to know the difference. read more

This is the only place I will go to get anything weapon related. Great staff very helpful, knowledgeable, and will go the extra mile to help a customer. They try to get to know repeat customers and what they like and don't like. Best place of any place I have been. And I have bought a gun or two in my time! read more

Great shop, gun pricing is on par with most online retailers and they offer a wealth of knowledge regarding any questions you may have. I will def buy from them again! Purchased a Glock 36, gen 4 read more

Don't waste your time going anywhere else. More than fair prices on everything guns. I can buy a new gun that I will know will fire ....... for the price of some used door stops that Ive purchased in other gun shops. All they sell are guns..... not bicycles and milk shakes like some other gun shops that don't keep their word. ( hum hum) I was so impressed with the selection I will never go anywhere else. If u want groceries and fishing tackle... Go to Wally Mart . If You want defense , come to SPAR. walk thru the door and get your free hard on today. I'm loving it!!! read more

These guys are awesome, and I'm glad I've found them. My first time there, I spent a good half an hour debating on fiber optic vs night sights for a Glock, and they let me annoy them with questions. The second time I went there to get stuff, they let me ask a bunch of questions about the ffl laws, being that I am a Florida resident. These guys are worth the small mom and pop premium because they are knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and professional. They will continue to get my business, and be my ffl of choice for long fun purchases! read more

About four to five years ago, I bought a Remington 700 SPS Varmint, .308, 26" Bull Barrel. The pricing for said rifle was more than reasonable as it was roughly $600. The staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and polite. I bought the rifle bare bones, but their store had more than enough items to add to the rifle for my liking. I haven't bought from them since I lived out near Erie at the time, but now that I am back, I am hoping to buy a handgun from them in the near future. read more

Great location, great customer service, and great selection. Guns from floor to ceiling. IDK how they fit so many boom sticks into one store. I've been dealing with these fuckers for years and they are always on point. If you're looking for knowledgeable sales staff, oddball and hard to find used guns, or classic collectors guns, this is the joint. They have a powerful toilet in there too. Tanner, Kyle, Frank, and Tom are the OG's who I have had many great dealings with. If you deal with one of them fellas, you're gonna be happier than a pig in shit. This shop is definitely worth checking out if you've never been. Also good food next door at Black n Bleu. read more

My husband went here this week at the great referral from my daughter. She had a great experience here. I sent him to find a firearm for the house because I am fully disabled and I just had knee surgery.. and live uptown. He isn't home for hours sometimes because he goes to Hershey to help his elderly mother. Well, we decided to get our carry license first and I did. I guess being a black disabled female counted me out..a manager who was watching the cameras decided we were no longer able to buy a gun in their all white employee and customer base...He never came out to explain anything, shake my hand nothing..I got denied to make any purchases of anything in their store. I mean wow...I will be reporting this and posting this everywhere I can...my daughter is light so I guess she passed to make a purchase...this saddens me because I apparently had 3 strikes! Black, female and disabled...by the way... this is my first gun purchase...it really surprised me. The guys out front are great and friendly...so do tell me why an anonymous person is this cold and callused to a harmless spotless record woman. read more

I attend every gunshow in the state and along the way visit every gun shop that i can- some good and some bad. Spar has always been good to me!! read more

I looked at yelp and this shop had a 5 star review. Well I went to their web site and hit a link for holsters and it sent to a hunting section, so I hit hunting and got rifles so hit rifles and got holsters. No list of what is available so I call the store. I explain that their website is not working and the man said sorry but it is run by a third party. So I ask if he has a holster for my weapons and after waiting several minutes (5) he said no they do not. Did not leave me feeling this is a place I want to purchase anything. read more
