This review is long overdue. My daughter has been attending the preschool since she's been 2 yrs old and is nearly 4 now.
Being a bilingual Mom, I realize how important it is to introduce language to my children earlier than the elementary school stage. Also, full immersion is important for learning the language. I chose to send my daughter to this preschool over well-known St Luke's, Montessori schools, etc because I want her to grow up with a secondary language that comes naturally to her.
Spanish Immersion Workshop has a loving, caring environment. There is a great balance between learning and play. There is a childcare component at the Huntington Station location, so in pinches, I have been able to keep my daughter longer without issue and with peace of mind that she's being well-cared for.
For any parents worried about "language confusion" - I assure you that my daughter hasn't had an issues at all. Her preferred speaking language is English and she knows the letters and can write letters, is showing early reading skills, etc. She is able to understand Spanish very well (My inlaws speak Spanish to her - I'm not a Spanish speaker), even though she isn't speaking it freely. At nearly 4 yrs of age, she is starting to say words and phrases in Spanish without being prompted.
I have had such a positive experience here over the last nearly 2 yrs, that I plan on having my daughter continue with classes when she begins school and I will send my son when he turns 2. read more
