I really love this shop, more to look at guitars than purchase guitars. There are some beautiful, rare fenders with big price tags. The shop definitely specialises in high quality instruments. The only problem, which may not be a problem for everyone, is the fact that they don't sell acoustic guitars. The staff are great, and don't mind if you just want to browse.

As with Wembley Drum Centre, I have been a customer of Footes since I was a kid. I can't say that I…read morehave ever bought any drums here. I have deliberated and bargained many many times, but they often are a little pricey. The things that I have bought over the years are mainly sticks, heads and DVD/VHS. On those items (incidentally the kind of products that seem to have their retail prices fixed by the manufacturer) which are not cheaper elsewhere, I have spent thousands across 15 years with Footes. Customer service can be patchy, but it does depend on the staff who are working there at the time. Way back, the staff were very knowledgeable and really bought me as a young customer. The range carried is not the widest in the world and lacks the custom drum presence of other drum retailers. The small display area is obviously the cause of this, but in Central London, what can one really expect? All in all, I really like Footes and no doubt will be a customer for many years to come.

I was sold my first electric guitar here, took it back because I had a few problems. The technician…read moresaw it and said straight away the neck is defected and will need changing, told me to come back and he will see what he can do. On returning he completely forgot what he first said to me about the neck, instead told me it's absolutely fine, I just need to adjust the bridge to deal with the dead notes past 15 and said that all guitars fall out of tune. Took my guitar to another technician this week, he said the neck is completely done and it should have never been sold. Im out of my 1 year warranty now, so will have to go into my own pocket to buy a new neck. But be very careful with this company, especially the London branch. Don't trust them to give you sound advice if you're new, they might try and sell you defective instruments.

The Music Room is a really amazing place for everything printed in relation to music. There is such…read morea huge selection of sheet music that it caters for all tastes. The selection encompasses all genres, from folk, to jazz, to rock, and so on... I went there in the hope of finding a book of old folk tunes. I went to the right place, as there was folk tunes from a range of countries and cultures. I picked up a small book of Irish folk songs for 4 pounds. Some of the bigger books are more expensive though, usually more than 10 pounds. The service really is something special. The people really know what they are doing here, and they seem genuinely happy to serve you.
