¡Hola Amigos! I give…read moremy highest recommendation to Spanish Easy and Fun. I have now taken two regular courses in Spanish and nearly two sets of individual Spanish-language lessons from Spanish Easy and Fun in Longmont and have found them to be challenging, inspiring and invigorating! They also offer regular group conversational sessions where individuals at different language-speaking abilities can come together for thematic-structured sessions geared to open conversation and confidence-building skills. My latest sets of individual lessons (one-on-one with Jay) were taken in preparation for my fifth trip to Bogotá, Colombia. I found that I was much more relaxed being immersed in a constant Spanish-language environment and able to comprehend more Spanish than in my previous visits. I also felt more confident in speaking Spanish with both my wife's family and in public situations. I did confirm that I still have a lot of work to do in terms of study and practice if I ever hope to become fluent in the Spanish language, but my lessons from Spanish Easy and Fun have given me the confidence to believe that this is possible. If you are looking for Spanish language (or other language such as Italian, French and English) instruction in a warm and nurturing environment, free of the pressure of tests and exams as you will encounter in a regular college course, or as a supplement to such academic instruction to support your Spanish-language literacy skills, I encourage you to explore the range of course options available to you at Spanish Easy and Fun. You will not be disappointed! Sinceramente, Douglas A. Longmont, CO

Flagstaff Academy is a charter school that I see as problematic. The math program in particular has…read morebeen an issue from the beginning and everyone in the administration knows this is true. A simple Google search will turn up research that proves that their various levels of mathematics for every grade level, discourages children in learning and creates math anxiety. When shown this research, the administration says there is nothing they can do about it because it's part of the charter. If your child is in a accelerated math group and then gets dropped to the next level down for the next year because of enrollment, etc. they will be learning the same math over again and will be bored and discouraged. When I transferred my children to public school after being years at Flagstaff Academy, my oldest, who was in accelerated math, had giant gaps missing in their math education. The teachers in the public school were not surprised they had seen this happen repeatedly from Flagstaff. My youngest child could not write more than a paragraph summation. I had to get my child extra summer writing lessons to catch up with their public school peers (who standard was riding five paragraphs). Also when we were there, not every teacher was teaching the same curriculum. The elementary had changed math curriculums so often that two of the teachers refused to switch. My kid wrote their college essay on the shock they received being moved from accelerated math at Flagstaff to public school math. I will never forgive myself. There are protections and standards in public schools that you will not find in a charter. Consider carefully your choice. My favorite part of their reply below is where they call me a liar. I would strongly suggest that you send your children to a public school that doesn't consider themselves a "business"

I certainly didn't expect to learn as quickly as I am, and have fun at the same time! My main instructor, Varon, is patient, funny, energetic, creative, and helpful. He works hard to go out of his way to help you succeed. He met with me one-on-one (twice) to ensure I was getting the attention I needed and to ensure I was able to keep up with my classmate. The class sizes are small, 3 to 5 students on average, which I really appreciate not just for learning, but also, for the social interaction. Varon plans and schedules learning activities outside of class to engage with other students, which is a real plus, again for the cultural and social aspect. I recommend Boulder Spanish for a blast of rapid learning, high energy, friendly instructors, a comfortable environment, and fun!

Varon and other teachers keep things fun and light, which I think is a great way to learn within small group formats. The additional outside the classroom social activities (i.e. hikes, trivia, dancing, cultural lessons, and drinks) that are included with your tuition are more great ways to meet others learning Spanish and are a perfect way to practice with those eager to do so. I plan to stick with Boulder Spanish for many more months, and encourage others to check them out!
