The team allowed us to do a tasting to choose our flavors, which was the perfect set up. It was a hard choice but we decided on the peaches and cream and pumpkin spice for our cake. I shared my inspo picture of a very intricate cake (which was literally AI), but Cardamom replicated it and made it an even more beautiful, real cake. I could not be happier with our cake. It represents my husband and me; our last name is Wren so there are beautiful wren birds represented on our cake. I highly recommend Cardamom Bakeshop to anyone and everyone!!

We…read moregot a Ginger Molasses Cookie, an Almond Cardamom Cookie, a Salted Caramel French Macaron and a Cheesecake topped with cherries. The hubby raved about the ginger molasses cookie. He started eating it as soon as we got in the car so that's why I only have a pic of part of the cookie. He saved the cheesecake for dessert that evening. He said it was delicious. I had half of the macaron this morning. I probably should have eaten it right away because it was a little dry. Also, I'm comparing it to actual French macarons I ate it Paris. It didn't measure up to the real thing. It is a quaint shop with a couple of tables if you want to eat there. There is a nice variety of cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, chocolates, desserts and cookies. Great place to go if you are creating a Dessert Charcuterie Board. Since the hubby is the one with the sweet tooth I'm basing my scoring on his comments.

There are four rooms with tables, a small area put back and a couple bistro tables out front. We went in a Saturday and the menu is a bit different from the weekday. Fries are not available and no chicken. Chicken may be available on other Saturdays, just not this one. I had the Chipotle Turkey Wrap - thinly sliced deli turkey, chipotle ranch, lettuce, provolone cheese and bacon in flour tortilla. I had fruit as my side- white and red grapes with pineapple. I had a pina colada smoothie. Everything was Bert good. The smoothie did not have a syrupy sweet taste. It was my birthday, so my husband got me a strawberry cupcake.

I've wanted to visit Carmella's for some time, and today was the day we made it…read more I'm glad I had GPS, because Carmella's is in a somewhat odd location. You can't drive up to it, so that's a consideration for people with any ambulatory issues. However, there is a parking garage close by, so that will satisfy most people. I drove into the access for the parking garage, and dropped off hubby, as he has had recent foot surgery. I then drove back out to the street and parked. I do like free parking. The area in front of Carmella's is beautiful and expansive. A breeze was blowing, the leaves were moving, and you get to capture that view and feeling inside the restaurant. We sat right at a window. Hubby and I shared the Raspberry Almond Tart (GF) and a Latte. Yeah, it was GOOD. I mean good as in I Could Have Eaten An Entire Tart. But, come on; you know I didn't need that whole thing. Sigh. I can give my full endorsement of Carmella's, and especially their gluten-free tarts. SO delicious.

I will admit that my initial reaction to the Belgium waffle wasn't great. For a dine in experience, being served in a to-go container felt a little off, and the Smucker's syrup didn't exactly help matters. Let's be honest, that's not real maple syrup, and it definitely took away from the presentation. That said, the waffle itself redeemed those first impressions. It was delicious, light, and had this subtle hint of vanilla that made it feel a little more special than your standard waffle. That touch of sweetness and flavor helped me quickly forget my initial disappointment. The breakfast presentation could use a little upgrade, but the taste absolutely delivered.
