I've always had a creative side and enjoyed the idea of learning more artistic outlets, so when I found out that they do classes, I had to join in! My friends have always talked about doing a watercolor class so when I went on to their site, I saw quite a few for the day but none in the evenings. I messaged them on Instagram and they immediately shared with me the upcoming watercolor evening classes to sign up. They do a lot of day time classes for kids but also have a variety of classes that you can sign up for throughout the month. Facebook seems to be the most up to date spot for events. This class was the "Watercolor Rainbow" where the owner provided each station with practice paper, a larger watercolor paper for our "creation" and our own paint palettes. We walked through different techniques of wet on wet, wet on dry, how to add more texture and even remove some of the paint if it was too wet. It was a great experience to dabble back into watercolors and I will definitely be looking into other classes here in the future!

At the time, I didn't even know it was there - and so close to my house! I like that all materials were set out for us, and step by step instruction was provided. It was easy to follow along, and our mats turned out great! 2 sizes were available, and lots of different designs. At first I didn't love that I had to commit to a design beforehand, but seeing how it was set up for class I understand why. I had fun at this class and space - if I see another class option posted that I'm interested in, I would sign up for another one!

They also offer classes in glass blowing, beginning with glass paperweights. The classes are great fun, because the staff is kind and encouraging, and there is a genuine element of learning how to do things, rather than having them done for you. It is also possible to see other groups doing it, and there's at least one day a year when they take walk-ins! Groups need to be 3-4 people, and it takes one or two days for the glass to cool, so if you're only in the area for a few days, factor this in.
