It's pretty obvious that you gotta check out the space needle at LEAST once! I take my family once a year (we come up from Great Falls MT). This place is a must go, not just for the views, but the food and drinks! We got towers of food and they were both so good. They have BEECHERS MAC N CHEESE. Yep you heard that right! And to make it better, THEY PUT CRAB ON IT. I was one happy girl with my crab Mac n cheese and bourbon. Michael is our favorite bartender, hes worked here for years . he's a main reason we keep going back. The Space Needle is a futuristic, quintessential symbol of Seattle which has a timelessness although constructed in 1961. Like "The Jetsons" or earlier iterations of NASA, it has a retro-futuristic quality, which is part of its charm. When I visited Seattle, I remember walking near the perimeter, so I don't have the experience of buying a ticket, but it was thrilling to be near the structure nonetheless. Whether you experience it up close or see it from afar, it is a welcome, familiar sight. When the Frank Gehry-designed Experience Music Project building was just a few years old, the sight of the Space Needle and EMP in close proximity to each other was stunning - especially at night. read more

There is only one Space Needle & Seattle has it. My family was there opening day for the World's Fair in 1962 !! Now, 61 years later, It's disappointing that the restaurant at the top has been removed. It was great to be seated as the entire dining room revolved 360° each hour. I used to work at the Space Needle 8-9 years ago back when I was in college. Unfortunately, not much has changed. It was $35/per person to go up. Definitely pricey. Ticketing staff didn't ask for potential discounts they were offering (whereas the other member automatically deducted a discount). Back in my day, I was looking to help each customer get the biggest discount each time :D Maybe it's because I've gone up so many times, but not too much thrill for me anymore. Brought my friend who had never been to Seattle. The Space Needle now is an attraction where you go up to take pictures of the city and the water (ideally at sunset). But that's about it. Elevator staff is no longer giving their little spiel about some Space Needle history. If you've never been to the Space Needle, it is something you probably do once to say you've gone, but don't need to go again. Even my friend agreed not worth it, but nice to say she's at least gone to tell the tale. Best to find street parking, otherwise, you can pay for nearby onsite parking or parking garage. read more

Great views after the renovation. The moving glass floor on the lower level is always fun. Be sure you keep your ticket to scan and get some pictures added to your seattle space needle visit! There's a cafe to grab coffee/tea and a few mini bars with beers and wines. Going to the space needle on a clear day is highly recommended. Fun for families, friends visiting from out of town, and date nights. Surprisingly most locals don't visit or have never been to the space needle! How could one not go to the needle! Always a wow. I enjoy the floor that spins with a bar. They also have snacks at the top, free photo areas, and a coffee shop. They've renovated the viewing area for a clear glass and it's a more fun, exciting experience as you feel like you're leaning on nothing. The line was a little long but moved at a decent pace. Only drawback was when we thought we were taking the elevator to the next level (based on the signs) it took us all the way down. read more

It's expensive but on a nice day it really is a must do. There's two levels to see. The very top where you can go outside and the lower revolving glass floor. If you have a wheelchair, you go in through the gift shop and use the ADA wheelchair. They also provide free pictures so if you see someone going around with a big camera, it's included! I purchased the tickets online to avoid having to wait in line to purchase the ticket on site. There were already long lines when I arrived, and had to continue waiting in line to get on the elevator to get to the top deck. While everyone wait in line to get to the elevator, we can see the nicely designed displays of the history of the building of the Space Needle. The view at the top is amazing. As a visitor to Seattle, this is one of the places everyone thinks they need to visit, and they're wrong. It was underwhelming, expensive, and exhausting to say the least. A packed elevator ride to the top, after a long uphill wait inside the hot lower levels. It was nice that there were free photos they take of you along the way up, but other than that, it's not worth the almost $50 price per person. When you get back down, you're in a big gift shop before exiting, with more expensive Space Needle related knick knacks. Save your money for the great wheel, it was a lot more fun and reasonably priced. read more

Instead of a typical review, I'm just going to drop some tips: You do not have to pre-order tickets but YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD. There is timed entry; if you order tickets at the window, they'll tell you when to come back. If you order online you'll know the time much earlier. Be prepared to wait in line, even if you have tickets. If you can, get the earliest entry they have. This will mean less waiting, fewer lines, less crowding at the top, and better photos. If you can, a CityPass will get you here (plus two or four other attractions, depending on the pass you buy) at a discount. If you have AAA, you can get the CityPass at a discount as well. The parking we use for Seattle Center is the KOMO garage. It's literally across from the needle, and on weekends it's a great rate for a downtown garage. Order ahead with Spothero if you can to save a spot and save a tiny bit. If you can, go on a clear day/time. Is it touristy? Sure. Cliched? Maybe. Worth the stop? For sure. It's just one of those landmarks everyone knows, so it's great to be able to say you've been! read more

The space needle is a wonderful experience and thrilling if you are afraid of heights. Waiting in line can be a drag though so plan ahead. Buy your ticket and come to the line at the right time. Prices as of 12/16/24 are as follows: General admission: $26-$46.50 Combo ticket: $48-$68 CityPASS: $97-$127 Chihuly Garden & Glass add-on: $64 Regular (ages 13-64): $35-$42.50 Senior (ages 65+): $29-$37 Youth (ages 5-12): $26-$32 They have a little coffee shop at the top and a small food cart but it's all priced a little high. So eat before or brings snacks to save money. The views are very pretty. I went with my wife and son. I also circled the space needle in a helicopter before. It is a very cool attraction I recommend going to. I have been a few times. There are bathrooms at top. And the lower floor spins. Make sure to test your fear of heights! Haha Parking is available at a pay lot to the east of the main entrance. There is another lot southwest of it too but it is much smaller. read more

It is such a great experience to see the space needle as you're approaching it whether you're walking or driving towards that it's just thrilling to see what you're gonna experience once you arrive at the area. There is the main entrance, but you don't have to go inside right away you could go ahead and explore. They do have a lot of photo opportunities areas like parks either next to the space needle behind it or around there is a lot of art sculptures throughout along with Other activities and a lot of food courts that you could explore. They also have a little garden that you're able to visit they have live music all throughout in the stage right behind the space needle I didn't go inside, but it's not necessary to go inside to experience and just enjoy The views of space needle read more

They only take reservations and even though it was crowded it could have been much worse so reservations are a plus. It could have been less folks but it is prime visitor time in August. Took my family visiting here from northern CA. Got all the photos and breathtaking views. Did not like that the plexiglass reflects when you take photos but not a deal breaker. There is a pie place on the top called tip tip cafe. We had peach and cherry pies, chocolate and almond croissants with iced coffee. Was really delicious, but horribly expensive. $75 bill for 4 people! Seemed like a spendy snack but the pies were super flaky and the croissants were very good according to my family. They were happy and that's what mattered. We had CityPASS and my family got 10% off their purchases at the gift shop. Worth the trip! read more

What a view on top! We were lucky to have beautiful weather, and could see very far. The wait to get up was about 30 minutes. The guys taking us up and down the elevator were very knowledgeable and friendly. Once on top you can stay for as long as you want. Too bad the restaurant is gone. One of the landmarks in Seattle is the Space Needle. There's a lot of history behind these famous attractions. If you come and visit Seattle, you have to include this on your bucket list. It's hard to park on the street so your best option is to get into the nearby private parking garage. You've to spend a day parking so that you don't have to worry about the time limit. We went on a weekday so the line to get a ticket was very quick. Getting to the elevator to take us to the top floor was also fast. Once you reach the top, you'll be walking on a glass floor where you'll see yourself suspended more than 800 ft below. If you're scared of heights, this is not the best place for you. The place is surrounded by a 360-degree glass wall. You'll see the breathtaking view of the city of Seattle. You can see the city as far as you can see with your naked eye. You can also walk downstairs to the next level which features a revolving walkway made of glass also. Both floors have a food section to purchase drinks or pastries. The ground floor of the Space Needle has a souvenir store where you can purchase shirts, sweaters, and other souvenir items. We were lucky that we came on a clear day and we experienced a fantastic day. If you visit Seattle, you have to experience this place. read more

This past year I've been able to concur my fear of heights .. with help and encouragement of my partner. On a weekend trip I was able to come to the space needle. Yes I was hesitant and didn't think I'd be okay WAAAY up there. (I've been to the top of arc de triumph, few zipline courses , a hot air balloon ride & many of planes ) but something about just a high up building with one way up/ down .. ahhh Anyway, I was able to purchase a ticket at the kiosk the day of. Had a while to walk around a view art sculptures , kid play area and a food hall. After that went to the line scanned tickets , stood in line , took a free photo then another line for the elevator. The ride was about 8-10 of us inside , we were able to see the city on the way up of the 43 second ride to the top. The view was lovely. The day over by the airport was cloudy but over here was sunny with few clouds giving the best view I could ask for! Got to see the Loupe/ revolving floor ! The drinks were pricey and the floor can kinda get you a little dizzy. The way down wasn't too bad ! Let out in the gift shop and you see a large Lego of the needle ! All in all great day spent. This was my first time visiting the Space Needle, and it did not disappoint! The ride to the top is surprisingly quick--just about 41 seconds--and the views from up there are absolutely stunning. Space Needle is tied with Pike Public Market for the #1 tourist spot, so you kind of have to do this, even though its not that exciting. You've heard of it, you've seen it, now experience it. Space Needle is the iconic tower/building/thingy in Seattle (amidst many many other iconic things) that tourists will flock to. Hey, my gf and I went so we're tourists too. I have a fear of heights so naturally I got the heebie jeebies the minute I looked down when we got up top. But if you get past that, the views are quite something, and cold, and windy. So that's the top floor, go down a flight of stairs and you'll see the rotating glass floor where you really get to trust the structural integrity of the space needle. My legs got weak as I walked across the glass floor but I'm sure you'll fare much better. It's quite an experiencing to see directly below you when you're several hundred feet in the air. That's pretty much Space Needle, the only other things you got is the gift shop, maybe a bar/snacking experience in the glass floor if you pay extra for it. read more
