I went here with a bridal party to have our hair/make-up done for that days wedding. We all brought in picture of updo's that we wanted which didn't seem too complicated. They were all a little different but we all seemed to walk away with the same "prom ball" as each other. From the front it looked as if I had a helmet of hair (and felt like it too) and in the back there was a ball of curls pinned tightly in the center of my head. This is not at all what I had showed them in the picture and I looked like a crazy Texan mama. (I'm 28) The make-up was not much better although it was livable I guess. The mineral make-up was nice but when it came to picking colors for the girls I don't think the artist I had knew what she was doing. I ended up with silvery pink make-up which washed out my features and went oh so well along with the crazy helmet hair. However, the brides make-up was beautiful so maybe the quality of the make-up application just depends on who you get. The real shocker was the price. It was already overpriced at $120 for the hair and make-up (up from normal prices since we were with a bridal party) and then they charged one bridesmaid $10 more than another girl. When asked about this they said that different hair stylists have different prices. When we explained that we didn't get to choose our stylist, they were just assigned to us, they just shrugged and said that some are more expensive than others. That is ridiculous as we weren't told that beforehand and we were given no choice. I would not go here again if someone paid me. I could have done a better job on my hair myself for sure. read more

We were here for a bridal event. Beverage service - they offered wine, mimosas and water. No coffee, no tea. Great if I wasn't pregnant or wanted to get a buzz on before noon. Manicure/pedicure: the lotions and sugar scrub was nice. The end results were not great. Nothing was done to my cuticles other than putting oil on them, and the nail technician left polish all over the sides of the fingers. My pedicure was decent - still only 2-star worthy. The worst part was this poor job for a lot of $$$. A mani/pedi was $75 - I can get a better job done in my hometown for less than half that price. Hair: I had no issues with the end result (although I agree with the other reviewer on the helmet-like results and all bridesmaids did end up with 'dos that were identical despite no one consulting with one another that we were going to go that route). Beach photos were taken about 8 hours later...not a hair was out of place the rest of the night. Guess that is a bonus! Make-up: No complaints on the end result. What did skeeve me out was the use of the pencils and brushes over and over again on everyone. It all seemed highly unsanitary! Wonderful facials with personalized treatment. I regularly get facials when I travel and this place is tops and right in my own backyard. I prefer the express facial but if you have time to relax, pamper yourself with the signature facial. Ask for April she's fantastic. read more

It was my daughter's wedding day and we arrived to have our hair done. We immediately noticed that the place was empty. When we asked if they could fit in another person, we were told they recently found out they would not be at this location much longer and most of their staff had bailed on them. No appoligies!!! The girl proceeded to do one person's hair at a time. One of the bridesmaids had to go back to the hotel to wash her hair. We ended up giving two of the bridesmaids manicures and one a pedicure ourselves. The girl they would not fit in, we ended up bringing our own curling iron in to do her hair while they continue to do one person at a time. I was supposed to have my hair washed and dried straight. They said they had me as an updo which as the mother of the bride, not what I wanted. They convencied me to curl my hair. Big mistake. I was so upset that my hair looked awful on the day of my daughters wedding. It was now four and half hours later. We were out of time!!! Once back at the hotel, I used my curling iron to try to smooth out the crazy curly mess my hair now was. To make it worse, I paid $45 plus 20% added tip (since we were a bridal party) for what was a mess. Several of the girls hair did turn out nice but our overall experience terrible. The owners were not friendly and made you feel unwelcome. It was so sad that such an important event was turning out to be such a bad experience. If this is how they treat their clients then I can understand why they seem to be going out of business. They should have told us earlier in the week that they did not have the staff to do our hair for such an important occasion. I really don't think they cared. They never showed any concern or appoligized for our experience. If you have scheduled your bridal party to get their hair done in the next couple of weeks before they are closed, I suggust you cancel and find someone else. Pay for someone to drive in from another city or state. Don't go to Spa Vogue. read more
