I just had, hands down, the best massage of my life. Kari was strong, knowledgeable, knew the right amount of pressure and the right amount of talking to do. She is so extremely talented. My spa service was wonderful, one of the best I've ever experienced, but the feeling of tranquility was disrupted with upselling of products and services at the start and end of my service and when I was charged twice for "spa fees" aka tip. After tipping 30% in cash they charged me the spa fee even after asking if I paid her cash. If there's a portion of tips that go back to the company, the onus should be on them to work it out with the employee. The spa is one-of-a-kind and my service was amazing, but I left feeling they were more money-driven than most spas. read more

Carlos was very professional and provided the best deep tissue massage I have ever had. He was able to identify some of my most problematic areas and I left feeling very relaxed and not sore at all. Some "deep tissue" massages are painful and still ineffective but he is knowledgeable and did not have to apply significant pressure in order to get the right results. I went in for a facial and was in and out in about an hour. I got a gift card and decided to use it. A $155 facial was supposed to be a deep pore cleaning with some LED light, and even though the esthetician was great, yet my face today looks exactly the same. I still have a bunch of clogged pores and looks exactly the same as it did before I went in. She recommended I get the oxygen treatment which was just 3 lotions. The last one was supposed to help brighten my face. Once again, my face looks no different. That extra was $65. My husband and I received a gift certificate for a couples massage, the gift certificates never expire - thank goodness - it was over a year (maybe even 2) since we received it. But it was our anniversary and felt the need to use it! This is the best spa in Tampa, hands down. The experience as soon as you walk up the porch steps, the open air space is very island-like. It felt very welcoming and the staff seem genuinely very nice. We were brought into a tranquil room which was dimly lit, there was a small fountain and a small area with fruit and little tastes and were offered water, hot tea or wine.... We were brought a hot, soothing, eucalyptus foot soak with lemons and a silky fern in it. We were then brought into a rustic, yet modernly decorated room with 2 massage tables for us. I had opted for a hot stone massage which I had never had before and I requested a deep tissue for my husband. We both thoroughly enjoyed this massage. More than any other and we get massages almost monthly and have experienced other spas, etc. I was blown away by this massage, I believe my therapist was Sarah and my husband's was Lindsey. He said she had REALLY good pressure.... When we finally were able to get ourselves up and dressed, we received a glass of water with berries in it. The entire experience made us feel like a million bucks. Why 2 stars, then? Because when I made the appointment and stated I had a gift certificate for a "60 minute couples massage", when they asked what we liked and were offered hot stone, deep tissue or any other type of massage - no one ever said there would be an up charge for any particular type of massage.... However, once the massage was done, we enjoyed the entire experience so much, we did not quibble about it and at that point still didn't know what the "little" up charge amount would be and when presented with the bill, just paid the amount which was $72 on top of what the gift certificate was already for, which is equivalent to a massage at some other places... This did include gratuity as well, I kind of feel like I should decide how much in gratuity I give....I might have given more. I suspect they do this because of people who do not give enough, but in some cases they are losing out. The upside to this is you don't even have to think about how much you should give. The big issue is that I realized a few days after the experience that we were not only charged for the up charge and gratuity on that but something else unknown. It looked like we were double charged - however, I have been in touch with the Spa since and have been advised that not only were we charged the up charge for the massage types - which the gift certificate did not specify a type of massage so they should TELL YOU there are differences in price, also the couples massage is more than an individual massage for the same type- so if you order a hot stone massage, it's one price and if you have it done in a couples' room it's $10 more per person which they also do not tell you. Last and the biggest issue of all is we were also charged for the difference of what the service was purchased for previously vs what the service costs now. The gift certificate was for a service, not a dollar amount. So, when they say the gift certificates never expire - in fact, the price that was paid for that service does. No one ever said you have to pay the difference if there is a price change by the time you use the service. Not just at the time of making an appointment by phone but when you arrive, there is no inclination that you are about to pay for the gift you received. I understand prices change. I understand if there is a different price for different types of services. TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS what is what before they feel shafted. read more

We had a massage booked for my husbands birthday. Within 24 hours of the massage, my husband hurt his back and couldn't move. I called right at 9 when the spa opened to cancel and work something out, maybe pay half, maybe reschedule and I was told no. My card was billed in full and I was told there was nothing they could do. This is inhumane. This is stealing. I somehow always end up at Spa Jardin to celebrate special occasions. The first was my sister's 30th birthday, the second was my best friends 30th, and most recently was my 30th. There is definitely a theme! All 3 times, we received a 90 Minute Hot Stone massage. I was lucky enough to have Keri for each of my massages and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She is truly amazing at what she does, is incredibly sweet, and her entire interaction with you from start to finish will have you feeling relaxed, renewed, and well taken care of. What I also love about her is that she is so genuine and you feel like you're chatting with an old friend every time you visit. At the start of the service, you are welcomed into their spa lounge - with small bites, infused water, hot tea, prosecco - whatever you need, they bring. While waiting, you receive the most luxurious foot soak and can really wind down. For me, this was such a special treat for my girls to enjoy at each of their visits. After the soak, you are lead into the indoor or outdoor area (I have only done indoor, but my girlfriend did the outdoor on her latest visit and said it was amazing!) - once in your room, which is dimly lit with wonderful scents, you settle in for your massage. Keri took such care in addressing the areas with the most tension and spending more time there, while still providing an overall massage and incorporating stretching as well. The hot stones are what make this massage so special and next level because you can get even deeper into the muscle and really alleviate the tension and knots. Keri takes her time, making sure you're comfortable but also making sure you leave better than when you came in. The 90 minutes also allows for the time to really soothe into the relaxing atmosphere and get the deepest treatment, truly working through the hard to break-up knots. The customer was escorted to a private room by aesthetician Melissa Rubio, where she was told there isn't anything we can do for you. "Your face has fallen and only a plastic surgeon can help you." The manager Alexa expressed regret and promised to have Melissa call and apologize. It never happened. By any standard, this business is arrogant, incompetent and unprofessional. When I lived in Tampa I visited Spa Jardin fairly regularly and always LOVED it. The relaxation room is stocked with the nicest treats; so much thought goes into the entire experience including the way merchandise and treats are displayed, the foot bath before the massage - EVERYTHING. I have had many wonderful massages here, always with Sara. Most recently I was treated to the outdoor space for my 1.5 hour Swedish and it was DIVINE. I enjoy this entire experience. It is a sweet bungalow on MacDill, and you are relaxed from the moment you enter. The waiting room is the best!
