Both Good and Bad in same visit. Good: Lauren gave an amazing massage! Worth the trip in itself. Lyndsey was great with nails as well. Bad: Do not get a wrap or facial with Lydia. The wrap was a joke. The facial was a 50 min. face rub. It was quite annoying rather than relaxing. No steam, no extractions, no analysis. The arm/ hand massage consisted of applying oil to each arm, that's it. I'm guessing the real esthetician didn't show up that day and they tbrew in whoever was available. You're better off buying a mask from Walgreens and washing your own face. Don't waste your money. read more

First off, my face did feel smoother and softer after my facial, but getting there wasn't worth the money. Okay, here's why: I should have suspected this spa was mediocre when I walked in and they had plenty of openings that very day. I booked an appointment for two treatments, one was 25 minutes, the other was 50 minutes. So that's 1 hour and 15 minutes, right? No, sorry. According to the receptionist, when I asked if that seemed fast, said that yes, it takes them less time if they do the treatments back to back. What? I am paying for the time, not just what they slather on my face. Speaking of slathering, that's all I got during my "50 minute" facial. Hot towel, slather, hot towel, slap towel on floor, slather, repeat with different smelling lotions, spray, creams until you have slapped 5 or 6 towels on floor. All this, while my esthetician sniffed instead of blew, followed by coughing a minute or so later. I realize we have high pollen this time of year, but it's hard to relax with all that going on in conjunction with the Celtic-ish music. A short loop at that. Maybe I am old school, but I want scrubbing, vacuuming, extracting. The Full Monty. I want to be steamed open, examined under that bright light through that dinner plate sized magnifying glass. I want to leave feeling clean, refreshed, and renewed. I want my hands dipped in paraffin and shoved into those claustrophobic warm mittens. And for no extra charge! This, I did not get. In sum, don't expect anything heavy duty, because it's sort of an entry level spa experience. Also, be prepared to be asked if you want to add gratuity and then be told how much is recommended for each treatment you received. Not a fan. At. All. There are little things one can do in private these days, and I make my tipping decisions privately in my own head. Do not let the hot springs talk fool you. There are no hot springs, it is a hot tub, that is open to anyone at the resort. The facilities are marginal at best. One nice touch is the water, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries they put out. Nice touch, but doesn't make up for the other inadequacies. There was only one shower and one toilet in the men's room. The only reason this place gets a 2 instead of a 1 is because of the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Came here for a bachelorette party for mani / pedis. I got a pedi service - the lady never rubbed me for more than 10 seconds, got nail polish all over my skin, missing paint on my toes. I complained to the front desk and they gave her automatic gratuity for the absolute worst pedicure in the world. I was so upset and they didn't comp me at all. This review is a little bit overdue since I was here a couple months ago, at the beginning of April. I had received a gift certificate for two massages, so I decided to go with my mom to have a nice spa day with her. I'll start with the positives: -I thought it was great that we were offered complimentary cranberry mimosas (I had never had them with cranberry juice prior to this, and it's amazingly delicious!) And we also had chocolate covered strawberries. -The outdoor hot tub is quite relaxing, and we were happy that we were allowed to have our drinks poolside. -The robes and showers were nice too. -The staff (registration and masseuses) were very nice. Now the negatives: -We lucked out to have such a warm day at the beginning of April, as it hit the upper 40s/low 50s that day, but we still froze when we had to run out of tge hot tub and back inside. I wish there was a little hallway that would lead to the spa bathroom that the spa guests can get a special key to use. -The hot tub had not been cleaned from the night before so there were cigarette butts that my mom and I were fishing out of the water -The timer for the Jacuzzi ran out pretty quickly so we had to take turns getting out to keep turning it on... Like I said it wasnt a freezing cold day, but still cold enough! -The massages was good, but not great... For the cost l expected someone a bit more experienced, but it was nice nonetheless... She also talked a little bit too much in my opinion, so I couldn't completely relax. -I wish the massage would be a full hour instead of 50 minutes. read more

The actual services were fabulous, but the receptionist we had to deal with was not. We were told gratuity was not included for services. However, when we went to check out, she tried to tell us 18% is automatically included. When we told her we were told differently, she back tracked and said that 18% is standard tipping rate. ( we didn't need her to tell us how to tip and we tipped over 20% anyways) I was with a group of six women ( one being a condo owner) and were spending over $1,000 for services. She very rude/ condescending to us the entire time we were trying to check out ( which took way longer than it needed to) We realized this morning she ended up charging people twice for services. A woman named Sage and another young lady that were there were very polite and accommodating and we enjoyed working with them. read more

Note: This is for the Pink Nail Bar that is associated with Spa Del Sol @ Chula Vista Resort. Last Saturday my Aunt and I decided to get a pedicure. We called down to the spa and they indicated that they had two openings for mini pedicures if we came down right away. We got to the nail salon and stood around for 10 minutes before serving us. Once we got into the pedicure chairs, there was only one nail technician working. She started on me first while my Aunt soaked (for 20 minutes!!!). She clipped my cuticle which I started to bleed immediately. Then she went to file my nails and she ended up cutting me with the edge of the nail file. I bled more with the cut than the clipped cuticle. While the nail tech was working on my Aunt, the other two nail techs came in and told our nail tech they had 3 other pedicures waiting and rushed us out of the chairs. When we went to pay for the services I told the cashier about the poor service and the nail tech making me bleed twice and all I got was, "I'm so sorry, I'll tell my manager." I should have not had to pay for a "relaxing" pedicure where blood was involved. This was, by far, the worst pedicure I have ever had in my entire life!!! I've had message services at Spa Del Sol and loved it. So I would think the nail salon would be legit. Evidently, not the case! read more

I really wish I could give zero stars to this place.... My friends and I drove two hours away looking for a relaxing day spa experience. We were really looking forward to Spa Del Sol however when we arrived the staff were all sitting on the couch in the waiting area did not get up to greet us or introduce themselves as we walked in. The receptionist was very rude and not wearing a mask for the entire encounter. We immediately felt that we were inconveniencing them and had to keep prompting them to provide instruction and guidance to their amenities. We were really looking forward to enjoying their "hot springs" before our massages but the hot spring was really a kiddie pool in a courtyard with water that was obviously chlorinated and treated. We notified the staff that we were going to cancel our appointments and spend our day where we felt welcomed and they simply responded with "ok" and made it very clear they didn't care for our business. It's really unfortunate that their website lied about hot springs and also about being the #2 spa in Wisconsin. I'm sad to say but I wouldn't recommend spending $160 for a service provided by employees that do not want your business. read more

I just left the spa at Chula Vista and will not be back. There were two of us, and we each paid $75 for a 50 minute pedicure. The first big problem that we had was there was only one employee working. She did both of our pedicures as the same time, so one of us was always just sitting there. Our appointments only lasted 40 minutes also. So we each had maybe a 20 minute pedicure for $75. When I asked if they usually have one employee to two customers, she said "yes, and sometimes I do three at a time. We have a hard time finding employees so it's usually just me". Second, the lady filled the tubs with scalding hot water, so we both jumped when we put our feet in. The lady said "yeah, I'm just busy and only turned on the hot water to fill so there's no cold in there at all." She let us find this out the hard way. Last, and this is just me (others may not mind), but the TV was on and loud and had the food network on the whole time. It's not at all the "spa" that I was envisioning when I booked the appointment. For a positive, they provide complimentary champagne, and the woman that check us in at the spa was very helpful and checked on us often. read more

To start, I'm a larger woman and appreciated them recognizing that when I walked in and automatically put a larger robe in my locker that fit perfectly. I've been to many spas in the US and in several countries and have never had the robe properly sized without asking. While we filled out paperwork and waited shortly they served us champagne and chocolate covered pineapple. The massage with April was exquisite! One of the best I've ever had. The facial with Stacey was equally as good. If there was a short wait between services, we were given champagne and choc. covered fruit to enjoy. Because of a staffing snafu I suspect our pedicure and manicure were a little fast tracked, but were definitely well worth the wait, and again with champagne in hand. I can't stress enough how nicely kept this spa is from the front lobby to the waiting room, locker room and then salon to get my nails done. One nice thing, they used new files and offered them to me to take home if I wanted, and most nail salons don't necessarily use new files on each person they're servicing so it was a very nice touch. The paraffin wax treatment as part of the pedicure was excellent! The only downside was I wish with a package such as what we had they offered a light lunch. They did recommend the restaurant in the lobby of the hotel which was delicious and visited that on our way out. We left with a complimentary bottle of champagne which we enjoyed on New Years Eve. read more
