Bathroom ceiling

Would rate zero stars if possible. Lived there for 4 years started off fine but management and maintenance got progressively worse. There's only one washer n dryer in the basement that the whole building shares. Sometimes breaks down and then you just can't do laundry until it's fixed. Laundry is 1.50 a load with a monthly water bill. Good maintenance people never lasted. Would constantly have to call them to fix the same things that would never get fixed. They came out to fix garbage disposal fix that but broke dishwasher and then pretty much blamed it on me even though it was working fine before they worked on garbage disposal. There is a lot more but I'll just say don't move here.

Marianne Manor's apartments are well-kept, clean, and relatively updated. I was relieved to find an…read moreapartment complex that treated their units as resident homes rather than temporary shelter. Unfortunately, masked behind this are invasions of privacy and an intolerant property manager. As a resident there, my parents would leave me their cat to watch for varying amounts of time while out on business. Although we signed a lease stating we were not cat owners, I did not think babysitting a pet here and there would be a violation. My parents had left me a piece of cat furniture for when we do have to watch the cat. I kept the cat tower in the most hidden storage closet in the apartment (behind my girlfriend's vanity and closet). During a mandatory inspection (where maintenance will enter your apartment with or without your permission), they were supposed to be checking the smoke alarm and furnace which were nowhere near this storage closet. Upon returning to my apartment later in the day post-inspection, I found a letter on my door. On the letter, it had stated the terms and conditions for cat owners and the fees that accompany it. When we called the office to address the new situation, they had stated that maintenance had "found a cat tower and reported back to management about having a cat". What is ironic is that the cat tower was completely hidden, and there was no cat in the apartment at that time. Not only did maintenance draw questionable conclusions that ultimately led to a ridiculous $200 pet fee and an extra $25 a month, there was a clear invasion of privacy. There was no reason for them to open up any closet besides what was required of them, but they did and used the excuse that "it was open" (which was a blatant lie). Even if that closet was open, they would have had to go out of their way to go and creep to see what they did. The only positive outcome that came of this was my decision to adopt my own cat. If they're not going to negotiate and charge me anyways, I might as well utilize what my money is paying for. As nice a place to live as this is, the untrustworthiness and intolerance of their staff is enough for me to rethink where I should give my business and to write this negative review. As an educated consumer of apartment living, I'd advise future customers to consider looking elsewhere. If you value quality of management and communication, you'll find that Marianne Manor does not. (I feel inclined to note that the one young woman who I had spoken to was very apologetic and only doing her job. The property manager not only seemed to order the younger worker on what to say, but refused to speak to me or my real estate agent on the phone. Other encounters with the property manager not only proved the lack of customer service and intolerance, but ultimately revealed her rude and ineffective communication).

This is by far the WORST experience I have every had in my entire life with a SCUMMMMM Landlord…read more(S). I stayed here for about 10 yrs, this is 10 yrs of not knowing that I was inhaling and breathing lead, mold and gas. They never really fixed anything properly it was more like a cover up, if I could leave no stars I would. The manager LENA has terrible power issues and her husband pretty much does anything she says, even if it is incorrect. They asked for me to evacuate to give them their unit back and stated that it was not anything personal, it was something corporate made them do, after I let them know that I had multiple injuries and only wanted new and fixed appliances. Never had any issues with rent and was a relatively good tenant, who worked from home. Sometimes I would hear maintenance taking down in the basement and had to endure many many sleepless nights because of the things I heard, not to mention the front desk rep was completely unprofessional, she called me next thing I know I'm receiving an unexpected letter that they would like their unit back. She's incapable of handling her job and always seems to overwhelmed, she's hung up on me multiple times already, when asked for a refund back that I was told I would get back in return only to get hit with a big fee bill weeks after evacuating. I never write reviews, but the way I was completely ambused out of my community of Brownstown without anywhere to go was so tasteless. This is most unprofessional management I have EVER dealth with in my life. Everyone is paying different rent did I say everyone, there was escorts coming in and out of my building at 23711 BROWNSTOWN SQ DR APT 103 in Brownstown MI 48141 on a daily basis and I can attest because I have seen it with my own eyes very young girls that look no more than 17 getting into cars with men over 50 plus, etc. It was extremely uncomfortable, weed smoke in and out of the building and ofcourse the building that had predominately black people were always targeted as the ones that were doing the smoking, very accusatory. The Landlords are from an entirely different state and do not mind knocking on your door accusing you of things that you did not do just to find reasons to put you out, unfortunately. The only thing nice about the community was that the cut the grass 2-3 times and week and on a daily basis when their trying to lure in more victims. There are ALOT of people over there that are not even US Citizens that receive more respect than anything else. Then their spreading lies to other people that call that I received an eviction when I have proof of a non eviction dismissal from the 33rd Circuit court with Judge Jennifer Hesson. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everytime we've had and issue, it's been straight ened out. My bank account was tampered with, I did receive a notice to quit for Non-payment. I went to the office and Dayna was very professional and understanding but she told me TO GO GET THE MONEY ORDER TO SATISFY THE TENT AND WATER BILL FOR THAT MONTH. Jim on the other hand has been equally professional with his knowledge on just about anything regarding a mobile home. He is LIKE JOHNNY ON THE SPOT WHEN LITTLE OR BIG THINGS HAPPEN. Jim is a wonderful/knowledgeable Man. Once my furnace, hot water heater and stove was NOT WORKING. We were nervous, I ra n to the offic, told Jim, he comes over immediately and determined that the gas line OUTSIDE HAD BEEN SWITCHED TO OFF. Really a very simple fix in a very cold State of Michigan. Jim and Dayna are very considerate people, we love them here !!!

I've been blown away by our experience here, especially for the price. I pay $625 (an extra $25 for…read moretwo cats a month and an extra $25 for an upgraded apartment) for a 2 bedroom. $625. The apartment is pretty big, has a dishwasher (there's the upgraded part), and plenty of closets. There is a laundry room on the second floor with one washer and dryer and I've never ran into problems with using it. My DTE bill is also the cheapest it has been in years. We've needed two things fixed since living here and maintenance came out the same day. The manager lives on the property and I see her around fixing things and just out and about. I love that. There's weekly cleaning in the common areas, thankfully, and it's a pretty family friendly environment - but not excessively loud. It depends on your building of course, but the noise heard from the hallway is not blaring into your apartment. Noise control is pretty good. The downsides to these apartments are: There is no outdoor space - no patios or balconies. When you have kids, that sucks, but it's something you know before moving in. There are pretty big common "front yard" areas for the kids to play in complete with sidewalks, but there is nothing to stop them from running into the street, so unless they're older and know what's up, you're obviously going to have to parent and watch them. Also, speaking of kids, if you have one that naps, or you just hate a ton of noise at random times of the day when your windows are open, you might want to ask that you NOT be placed up front. There's a construction company or something next to the apartment complex and there is always something going on - trucks banging into things, cement being moved, I don't know what they do over there, but it's not necessarily quiet.

No kids lived in these buildings. Not sure if this is the same for single tenants today. I had a pretty good experience. I loved the bathroom, it was large, and had a very large tub. I was lucky enough to have a unit that had to be worked on before I received the keys. So my unit had new beige carpet throughout, a new kitchen floor and new stove; the entire unit was painted and also thoroughly cleaned. When I moved in it was immaculate, even the bathroom tile was spotless. The building I lived in was very quiet. I loved my apartment, and only moved because I got married. The ONLY bad thing was, in the winter, the tenant below me opened his/her sliding door and kept it open a lot, so my apartment was extremely cold in the winter. Complaints to the manager were ignored. I wasn't going to get into a fight with the person below me about this. It was so cold in my apartment that at times, I had to wear my coat in my apartment just to feel comfortable. And I had to use four blankets on my bed at night. Looking back on this experience, I would have rented a 1st floor apartment. I was sad to leave, as it was a very quiet place and I liked being close to Trenton and Woodhaven.
