We priced a GE Stove at East Coast and Southland Appliance. Southland was over $150 less for the same product. Installation cost was $250 less than East Coast and a new gas hose was half price at less than $70. Bought a full set of kitchen appliances. After one day in our house the stove broke. Southland did come out to repair it. Now the refrigerator broke and they have been out multiple times to try to fixed it but they can't seem to keep it running. Only one star, because I could not leave it blank. My Bosch dishwasher was recalled, so I contacted the company and they gave me three "authorized" companies to do the recall work. The first was Southland. I vaguely remembered hearing something negative about them, but instead I checked Yelp- just in case. Even after reading Margaret R.'s review, I thought I'd still give them a call, because Bosch listed them First. Big mistake. The man who answered the phone was curt, asking if I purchased the dishwasher from them and when I said 'no' he rudely said he wasn't interested in doing the work. I have used Southland since I redid my house in 2009/10. They were knowledgeable, price competitive and provide excellent service not only on original delivery, but after the sale. I recently chose to replace a non stock dishwasher instead of fixing it, and they professionally installed it very quickly. I have never purchased an appliance from Southland. However, I have used their repair service three times. I truly believe that the refrigerator repair man provided excellent service twice. Recently I called about my washing machine. It made a horrible noise and the clothes were still wet after going thru the spin cycle. The repairman told me that there was nothing wrong with the washer and I needed a plumber because water was going behind the wall. His son is a master plumber. He offered his son's business card. I called my plumber who replaced pipes underneath the house. (The wall did not have to be torn out.) The washing machine still did not function properly. I called a different repairman. The washer needed a new timer and a new spring. The Southland repairman did not even try to diagnose the washer. I want a refund of my $89.00 service visit charge. I will never use Southland's repair service again. I just spoke with an employee at Southland. She promised me that I would be refunded the $89.00 service visit charge. read more

Fantastic experience! The washer model I researched before contacting them ended up being the same model the salesman recommended. Called on a Wednesday and with only a 15 minutes conversation, they delivered on that Saturday. Troy the salesman was outstanding and the install team was very courteous and mindful. I began using Southland Appliance when the local retailer I purchased my refrigerator from couldn't get anyone to come and service it for 4-6 weeks. Said they had few mechanics and were looking for some!!!!! I won't mention their name. The problems with them didn't begin and end with just that issue. But, I will never go back to that dealer ever again and have made it a point to mention that to my friends! Nevertheless, I heard about Southland and they came out the next day, identified the problem immediately and fixed it. Their technicians are prompt, polite, call when they are on the way or are running late and are very good at what they do! I trust them to service all my appliances. You should too! read more

Our brand new Bosch dishwasher broke and Bosch recommended this company to do the repair work on it. The repair man came to our house and told us that our control panel was defective and they would have to order the part and it would take a week to get here. We had to keep calling them to check on things because they couldn't give us a straight answer on when he would be back to install it. When the repair man was able to come back to fix the control panel.... He replaced the power cord instead.... he did not bring the right part to fix it. Of course, the power cord didn't solve anything. They said they would call us when they were able to come back and fix it... three day later they finally called. The repair man was so rude and he also managed to damage the paint on our kitchen wall. Our dishwasher has been broken for almost 3 weeks now. It's still not fixed because we had to find another company to fix it. We will NEVER deal with these people ever again. Stay away! read more

Excellent place if you just want to pop in, buy your appliance, and go home, AND you don't care how much they charge you. After buying our new dishwasher there, I came home to find that I could have bought the same one for almost $200 less at Home Depot or Lowes!! When I called the store and asked if they would match it, the manager said he would send me a check for the difference. Yeah - right. Never got it. So now I need a new Washer & Dryer - guess where I am NOT going. On the positive side, my new dishwasher was leaking. They were very prompt about coming out and fixing it. But still they've lost my future business. Sad, because after the washer & dryer, I'll still need a new stove and refrigerator down the road. read more
