We came here for swimming lessons ($39 for a year's worth of community participant status - which allows you to sign up for classes and another $85 for two kids's worth of six weeks sessions) at the beginning of summer 2018. The experience with Miss Kennedy, our swim teacher, for those Thursday nights were so positive and wonderful, we signed up again. Towards the end of summer, we signed up again for the third batch, but this time we found out that the prices were way more (40% more!!) for non-summer classes ($119 for two kids). I thought it was an accounting error and even thought (because I didn't understand the difference between a YMCA membership and a community participant status) that I was a YMCA member. When I found out that wasn't the case, I asked: how much for my family to be members? The answer floored me: $100+ a month. Holy. Crap. Who can afford this? Any full-access gym with these amenities would be a third/half the price, but I suppose the Y's pricing is just common for potential rich folk - we're not in their target market. The pricing issues aside, I love the staff. I love the facility for what it is. We love the family locker room/changing areas. We love the indoor pool/hot tub, simple as it is with a non-working slide, and we even like the outdoor pool.

It stayed open for the 70 minutes we were in there. Air and water Temp was nippy. They added large amount of chemicals while we were swimming. Btw if you're wondering what Emily I'm referring to in this review, she's the trailer trash looking chick who always colors her hair, wears dingy gym shoes and has a raspy voice. The best thing I did for my child was taking him to a new school. The staff there were so incompetent it was ridiculous. The amount of times I had to make sure my child got his lunch because they had given his lunch to another before. Or I had to call the manager because the staff had sent my child's belongings (WHICH WERE LABLED) home with another child tells you how incompetent they were. The owner Sheryl Westerdale also doesn't take the safety of these children seriously. The last two incidents: My son told me Emily "pulled him really hard on his cot during nap time". Those are my child's words btw. He said he was talking and if you know any better like I do, it sounds like she was annoyed his was talking and forcefully pushed him across the floor. They checked the cameras but claimed they could not see anything because it was dark. Then after, a few days later...I picked up my child from school and he had thumbtacks in his HAT! The explanation that I had gotten was so ridiculous. Apparently, EMILY claims that my son had knocked them over and she cleaned them up. Well, HOW DID THEY GET INSIDE OF HIS BOOK BAG and INSIDE OF HIS HAT?! One time I asked them to make sure my child's shoes were tied so he wouldn't hurt him. Emily tried to get my child kicked out of the center saying I "yelled" at them. How about you do your job and parents won't have to say anything?! Do yourself a favor and send your child somewhere you don't have to worry about them. You'll be happy to avoid the stress.

We were in Detroit for…read morea wedding and needed child care for six rambunctious kids ranging from 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old. We were able to book CAPEC months in advance, which gave us the peace of mind to book the trip knowing that we had reliable child care in place for the night of the wedding. The reservation process was smooth and easy. I spoke to Ebony by phone and she explained her services and confirmed that she could accommodate the size of our group. Once we decided to book CAPEC, we received a link to fill out all the necessary information online (i.e. allergy information and emergency contacts for each child). We then received a written agreement laying out all the terms and information we needed to plan ahead. Given that we had a large group of six kids, Ebony brought a second staff member, Yolaunda. The two of them came very well prepared with plenty of toys and activities for the kids to play with. As soon as they arrived at the hotel they had the kids engaged with bubbles, balloons, and musical instruments. They also did a great job of comforting/distracting the kids so that the parents could slip out without causing a meltdown. Throughout the evening Ebony texted us updates and pictures of the kids playing and enjoying themselves, which was very reassuring and put our minds at ease so we could enjoy the wedding festivities. When we got back to the hotel at midnight all of the kids were fast asleep. The next morning the kids told us how much fun they had with Ebony and Yolaunda, which is really the best feedback you can get. Thank you Ebony, Yolaunda and Children At Play Event Childcare! The experience at Meadowbank Schools was odd to say the least. In June 2022 we toured the facility…read morebecause of relocation to the area. The school overall is clean and the staff do okay with the kids but it is tough to get communication out of them. We asked several times how he was doing, if there were any concerns and overall do they see any issues. The most response we received was that he was sweet, caring, and is doing ok, 9/10 times it was just a "he is doing okay". Now onto the other major issue at hand: We met with the Center Director at the time and had a few questions regarding potty training and the process for children. Our at the time 2 year old has a communication delay and when he started just received his tubes, allowing him to hear more clear. We wanted to ensure that them being potty trained 100% at the time they turn 3 would not be an issue. The Center Director assured us that there were three distinct rooms that he could go into and they would keep him in the not potty trained room as we worked with him to get potty trained. It made us feel comfortable and we decided to give it a shot. As stated above the communication is lackluster to say the least and the morning greater is not very friendly. With all this in mind, we thought things were going normal as planned and he was doing great until we received a call that he is being removed from the center due to difficulty potty training. When discussing with the new center director who is also the now owner, it was never discussed with us and really blind sided us as a whole. He turned 3 less than 30 days ago and while we continue to try and potty train him, he is not taking to it, which is fine. The situation they placed us in was difficult but the way they handled the process was ineffective, unprofessional, and lacked any sympathy. If the expectations would have been clear back in June, then we would have choose a separate daycare that could fit his needs, but as educators of young minds she made a few key mistakes in the discussion talking about other kids, the "new" ownership which is the daughter taking over, and the policy update and miscommunication from the old center director. The process of removing him after they gave us two weeks to find a new center was easy and they did refund money that was paid but when arriving to pick up our child, the front desk worker who is not very friendly said quite loudly, "oh is this the one we are removing," it was not professional and as a group they are unable to handle the face to face communication. I wish them nothing but what they deserve and work for but please be upfront with parents as the kids transition through the age groups, that the expectation is to have them potty trained right at that time they turn 3. We have made tremendous strides with his communication, attention, and overall development but If you truly knew early childhood education you would know that forcing it on younger kids, only causes you to work against yourself.

There's a reason this place has so many poor reviews. When many different people say similar things…read moresharing their collective negative experiences at the same place that should speak loud enough. Do your child a favor and look around at other places. This place cares much more about you giving them money than anything else. There's better places that will help the development of your child, this place is more of a day care than any type of developmental school that's it's claimed to be.

They had gotten me in right away, my son started the next Monday. We discussed a plan that worked for me for pick up and drop off with specific days. There is an app where I am directly connected. I am filled in throughout the day about the schedule of my son from nap time, changing diapers, and snack time. Of course they are pricey, but what daycare isn't?
