The place is a cozy, older styled southern restaurant with lots of charm. The waitress we had - I…read morecannot remember her name - was extraordinary and took such good care of my family and I. Three out of four of us had ordered the hamburger steaks and while we waited our waitress checked in on us, refilled drinks multiple times, and kept updating her with the status of our order. We ended up waiting for about 30 minutes when our waitress came back and informed us that the kitchen failed to communicate that they were actually completely out of hamburger steaks. She was super apologetic, asked if there was anything else we wanted, and immediately offered compensation for the issue. We all ordered something else and she got the order in as quickly as possible, came back to check in on us some more, and got her manager to comp one of our meals and some pies for us. The food came out maybe 20 minutes later and everything was hot and fresh. The fried okra was SO GOOD and the chicken was basically falling off the bone. The toast, as seen in the picture, got a little burnt, but my husband had no complaints when he ate it. Overall, our meals were great, the pies were delicious, and the customer service form the waitresses and manager was phenomenal. The being said, this restaurant would 100% be 5 stars for me had the kitchen been communicating with the waitresses. However, they did not and it caused so much unnecessary issues for the waitresses and caused a long wait time for food during my families visit. All in all, this place is worth the try especially for the price point!

NOTEWORTHY SEAFOOD DESTINATION!…read more We came here on a Friday night around 8pm. I don't think they take reservations and there was an hour and half wait for a table. Our valet driver told us that you have a good chance of sitting quicker if you wait for a first come first serve seat at the outside bar. We found 2 available seats at the bar within 15 minutes or less. This place is so lively. You'll see a bunch of people there from families to friends and couples. We sat at the outdoor bar and ordered dinner with a stellar bartender. I don't recall her name but she was a beautiful lady with a bubbly personality and strawberry blonde/red hair. We got the tuna dip as an appetizer, plus the original snapper Destin and pan sautéed gulf snapper. All of it was great but the pan sautéed gulf snapper was the star of the show. The tuna dip had a pleasing Smokey flavor but was a tiny bit dry - could've used a little more moisture. The pasta that came with the pan sautéed snapper made it such a wonderful dish to eat - it tasted so fresh and well cooked. The fish was perfectly moist and delicious as well. The original snapper Destin is their most popular dish. It's nice but not better than the pan seared gulf snapper - unless you LOVE a salty sweet taste with pecans and mash potatoes. Overall, I'd go here again. It was the best meal I had all weekend in Destin. The atmosphere, service and food were all high quality.
