Extremely Disappointed - Still No Refund After 8 Weeks I had a scheduled surgery on April 28. On the morning of the surgery, I was drug tested and was told that I tested positive for a substance I absolutely had not taken. Because of this, they canceled the surgery. I immediately went to an independent drug testing center and, as expected, tested clean. I submitted these results to my patient coordinator, and they acknowledged the error and offered me a full refund. That was 7 weeks ago. I've sent countless emails and made numerous phone calls, but still no refund. The staff is rude, unhelpful, and refuses to provide any meaningful updates. I took two weeks off work, paid for a hotel for two nights, and spent months preparing--only to be denied surgery due to what appears to be a faulty drug test and then completely ghosted after the fact. What's most frustrating is how different the experience is compared to how Dr. Deal presents himself online. He seems personable and caring on Instagram, but in reality, the aftercare and communication from both him and his staff have been awful. The rumors are true: they care before the surgery, but once your money is in, you're on your own. To make matters worse, they are extremely overpriced. I've since recommended three people elsewhere who paid half as much and had amazing results. I'm now in the process of taking legal action. I have all the emails that clearly show they agreed to a refund. Bottom line: Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I do not appreciate being told I had to tip for cosmetic & medspa treatments. I had discussed pricing in detail and bought a package. Was asked at second treatment why I was not tipping. I did not anticipate adding to an already expensive package and did not appreciate being asked to tip. Tipping is for waitresses making $2/hr and hairdressers, not medical professionals. I contacted them today stating that I was not able to do the service due to a family tragedy and have to leave the area and won't be here. The woman who answered said she would have to check with the business manager. Later today she left a message stating that they do not do refunds. Was scheduled for full facial laser treatment, lower eyelid blepharoplasty, and lip injection using my fatty tissue. First, the post op meds prescribed for me caused a horrible allergic reaction. My face swelled up like a bunch of bees got a hold of it. I texted pics to post nurse who stated it was normal. Clearly, it was not bc I looked like a monster! Next, there're was no change in the shape of my lips...NONE. I found one place on my thigh that looked like there "might've been and small aspiration site there. Finally, the alleged blepharoplasty looked like two incisions were made under each eye and then sewn back up......period. No fat pads or any tissue was removed from them. When I later consulted with a well known plastic surgeon for a different procedure he started by saying we'll start with your eyes. I told him I had already had a lower bleph he reared back, as if I'd punched him and said "what did he do"? Bottom line, I wouldn't take my cat to them to stitch up a cut. I contacted Southern Surgical and set an appointment for a consultation. I had to cancel due to my work schedule and set another appointment. The day of my appointment I came down with Covid and cancelled last minute​ and was sick for a month. A few months down the road, I inquired about another appointment and was transferred to a woman (One of the sales person's(?)) Who was extremely short and rude stating that they don't give the procedure to my age (55). Which​ was obviously not true as it was stated on their website that they do up to 80 if healthy. Apparently this women was angry with me for not appearing for the appts. and returning her calls in a timely matter. I understand that's Dr's time is valuable and I typically would not cancel and not return calls immediately. I was very upset by this conversation and how I was treated. read more

I went to SSA because a friend had great results and when I told Dr. Deal what I wanted, he said he could do it and my augmentation would be great but it wasn't so Dr. Deal said he could do what I wanted if I went bigger even though I didn't really want to go bigger but I knew what I wanted so with great reservations, I did....they were horrible but he said he thought they were a 9 out of 10 and I could get a second opinion but I will warn you that if you go to SSA , you can't get a second opinion in town as there is not a plastic surgeon that will see you because they have fixed the work of this COSMETIC SURGEON (I use that term loosely). They will not see you due to professional courtesy but the work is so bad and he wants to charge you to fix his mistakes. He was so proud of his work that he walked up and sat his soda can on my breasts one day, I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say. I had to go out of town to have what he messed up fixed and I was charged for things that he did not do. Also, someone in his office spoke to a friend of mine about my surgeries which is a blatant violation that I'm very disappointed about. If he would do the right thing then I would never have to write this but I have stayed quiet long enough. There are a lot of us out there that have been done wrong by Dr. Chad Deal who has over a million followers on Instagram which apparently makes him a good surgeon ....that is what I was told after I read the unbelievable notes in my chart that were not even close to being true. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND A PLASTIC SURGEON NOT A COSMETIC SURGEON BECAUSE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND I, like a lot of other women in this city, GOT DONE TOTALLY WRONG. I, personally, did not get to choose the kind of implants I wanted which were high profile so I ended up with flat implants and I would love for the other people to come forward to help us all get justice. Dr. Gardner was extremely professional and very nice, he did a wonderful job! but I would like to say that his office staff that waited on me today was very rude, when I called the office later that day to ask how much each of my services were since I was not given a receipt of any kind, the girl I spoke with was very unprofessional and rude, she talked down to me and did not want to answer my questions! My Granddaughter had breast implants put in by Dr. Deal & he did an awful job. Implant Malposition was the problem & the sad thing is Dr Deal knew it when she came back in for a follow-up. He offered to correct the problem for a cost $$$$$. **During breast augmentation surgery, pockets are created to hold the implants. If the pockets are not created properly, the implants may drift out of position.** This was the doctor's mistake & it should not have happened much less them wanting to charge her to correct what the doctor had done. I have been going here for several years now , reason being I had a motorcycle wreck several years and had some bad road rash all on my back and shoulders , The scaring was very noticeable even with a shirt on sometimes , my body kept trying to heal it self after it had already went through that stage and the scaring kept basically adding to its self , it is called keloid scaring from what I understand , they gave me several injections into the scars several times a month and before I knew it they were gone . I have been seeing Dr. Carey Nease for Botox and fillers since the Autumn of 2015. I have always been apprehensive about cosmetic surgery; however, Dr. Nease recommended a facial fat transfer that would last longer than fillers and save me money in the long term. Our son started losing his hair when he was a senior in high school, and it got worse as he went through college. We went to Southern Surgical Arts because they said they did hair replacement. When we went in to talk to them, they said there was a great new treatment we should try first which involved blood plasma injections to the scalp. They wanted to charge over $4,000 for this procedure, which they assured us would be beneficial, and they said if it didn't work they would go ahead and do the hair replacement at no extra charge. (The $4,000 was what we had saved up for the hair replacement.) We agreed, they did it, and we couldn't see ANY improvement at all. However, THEY said there WAS improvement and if we wanted to go ahead with the hair replacement we would have to pay over $4,000 again to proceed. I see most of the negative reviews are regarding a surgeon I didn't meet, Dr. Nease. My experience with Dr. Deal was FABULOUS. I spent 9 years in Los Angeles where I saw Dr. Ourian at Epione in Beverly Hills for all things face related- fillers/Botox/etc. (he does the Kardashian ladies and most of the Real Housewives of BH). In Nashville I went to Skin Pharm whose Instagram is better than their actual services. I went to Southern Surgical per the recommendation of a friend in Chattanooga- a mid thirties woman who doesn't look a day over 18. Not only was Dr. Deal incredibly personable, friendly, humble, and informative, he was honest. He told me what I didn't need and saved me hundreds of dollars. We did go through with the Botox injection, and he is the perfect blend of an artist and doctor- he has magic hands!!! He is too good for Chattanooga! I have zero, ZERO wrinkles and still look like myself! He needs to have his own show and could definitely open his own practice anywhere in the world and would have a cult following (myself included). As much as I would like to cover all of the reasoning's that have led me to conclude that Southern Surgical Arts displays a complete lack of professionalism, industry knowledge, customer service, and compassion, I will keep my posting brief. I will let the viewer look at the attached pictures of my simple, common, nonsurgical lip augmentation, and determine for themselves if the procedure performed by Dr. Nease and his staff was worth $3,000 along with the pain, agony, and embarrassment that I went through when my lip implant popped out of my lip during a class meeting. I was a college student in my senior year. The procedure was botched. When I drove 2 hours back to Chattanooga to get the implant fully removed, the front desk staff, nurses, and doctors, all stated they have never seen this happen before. Now that both implants are out of my lip and I'm left traumatized, I asked for a full refund, through email and certified mail. I've received no reply. It's been more than a year and I've asked 3 times. There has been no aftercare, no one checking in to see how I'm doing emotionally or physically. It's truly saddening. These people do not care about your well-being, or the outcome. Once you've paid them money, you're just a number. I have to warn all those interested in going with Southern Surgical Arts, DON'T DO IT. They do not deserve anyone's money. People go to surgeons looking to feel more confident and beautiful. Plastic surgeons are supposed to be someone you can trust and confide in. Dr. Nease and his staff are anything but that. I recently had a procedure done to remove the scars on my lips in Beverly Hills. I've also been going to therapy to deal with the emotional trauma this has caused. I saw Dr. Nease for the first time last March for a consult. Soon after in April 2018, I went in for a breast augmentation & lift. As mentioned in a below review, his bedside manner is amazing. My goal with this review is to inform someone like me looking for a trusting and capable surgeon to perform a breast augmentation. If anything, please read the final paragraph. Dr. Carey Nease performed my breast augmentation on June 21, 2016. To say I am unhappy with the results is an understatement. Total I have had 7 visits to their facility starting with my initial consult and breast sizing visit. At these initial visits, I feel I was mislead, uninformed, and rushed. After discussing with Dr. Nease that my desires were to have fuller breasts and NOT huge breasts, he took some measurements and then suggested two sizes for the nurse to show me, then he left and the nurse showed me the two options he recommended. I feel mislead by the nursing staff who kept pushing me to choose the bigger size, and Dr. Nease telling them not to let me go lower than 400cc. I feel I was uninformed by Dr. Nease because I was never told there were different profiles of breast implants. Which after consultations for revision surgery with other surgeons, they informed and explained that a high profile implant would achieve a fuller breast I desired and be a better fit for my anatomy. Lastly, I feel I was rushed by the nursing staff to make a decision on my breast size. Also, I feel Dr. Nease rushed through my appointment and did not consider the best options for my anatomy and my unique desires. My results: After 6 months of hoping and lots of massaging my breasts as he informed at each follow up visit, my implants never dropped, resulting in what is called a "snoopy boob". In addition to the implant being high and breast tissue being much lower, my right implant will jump very high when I flex, which was explained by another surgeon at a revision consultation to be a result of the pocket not being big enough for the implant, so when I flex the the muscle pushes on the implant causing it to be misplaced and pushed out of the way of the muscle. At my 6 month post op appointment, pictures were taken, and it was clear the results were not desirable, and by no means worth the $4,999 I paid for them. Dr. Nease's suggestions were also less than desirable. His recommendation is that a revision is needed AND if the revision is not fully successful a 3rd surgery would be needed. The reasoning provided for the unwanted results was that I had a difficult anatomy. If this were the case it should have been considered and communicated from the onset. Finally, after expressing dissatisfaction with the initial surgery and plan for 2 more he came across as defensive, rude, and showed no compassion. My final thoughts for anyone reading this and seeking a surgeon for a breast augmentation, is BE INFORMED. I hope you will do research on the difference between a cosmetic surgeon and a plastic surgeon. Although, Dr. Nease is a "board certified cosmetic surgeon", he is not a plastic surgeon. I have had several cosmetic procedures performed by both Dr. Nease (triple board certified) and Dr. Deal (double board certified) and could not have been more pleased with the level of service I received or professionalism exhibited by both doctors and their staff. I have been to others in town but there really is no comparison. They take my care so personally... I wish all of my doctors cared half as much.
