She showed us everything that needed to be done and was kind and patient. There were about eight horses in the barn and the horse that was ridden was gentle-perfect for a beginner. They have a nice sized riding ring and a trail to walk on. They also do lessons for people with autism which is amazing to give back to the community. We will definitely be back!

My boys enjoyed walking through the stable to see where the horses lived. They had an opportunity to groom the horse they would ride. And of course, the best part was the short ride on a horse led by a handler. They got to see the other farms animals on site, too. It's not a fancy, schmancy place. Like most nonprofits, Saddle Up is always challenged by funding. It's a rare find developed Pinellas County. They also provide important service to a segment of the community. I booked a beginner lesson with Kristine and had a serious safety incident that resulted in injury…read more Kristine put me on an 18-hand horse she had only owned for approximately two months. She mentioned that she did not yet have a properly fitted saddle for him and used another rider's saddle instead. During the lesson, she left me mounted and walked out of the arena to "get out of the horse's way". Shortly afterward, the horse became anxious and repeatedly bucked, throwing me off after approximately 45 seconds of riding. He continued bucking and running around the arena after I was thrown. I landed in the mud with neck and back pain and was shaken. Kristine then got on the same horse, and he hopped around and started to freak out with her as well before she dismounted. We ultimately switched to another horse and I was able to finish the lesson. I understand that horses can be unpredictable, but I trusted Kristine to make an appropriate judgement about which horse was suitable for a beginner rider. Based on my experience, I did not feel that this was a safe learning environment. Kristine offered only a partial refund, but given the severity of the incident, I do not feel that adequately reflects what happened. I would strongly encourage anyone booking a beginner lesson to ask detailed questions about the horse they will be riding and the instructor's recent experience with that horse.

Each camp had a different theme and kids could sign up for the one they liked. -Covered riding area. Rain or shine, the kids could ride. -Kona Ice day. The truck came out and the kids could purchase a treat halfway thru the week. -End of the week presentation. Parents were invited to a Friday performance that showed off what their kids had learned. So why not five stars? Mainly because of the lack of communication. Leading up to the start of camp, the only information we had was from the sheet we filled out months before to reserve our spot. An introductory email would be incredible. Also, the paper handed out to parents about the presentation had the wrong time on. I was only able to confirm the actual time because we attended with a good friend who had the owner's phone number. Tightening up the communication would take Suncoast's Summer Camps from being amazing to perfect!

Tomars barn is a piece of heaven , my 25yr old oldenberg 17,2 hands 1200 lbs has been at tomars for…read more4 years, the owner cindy Fernandez has been nothing but a blessing , she is hands on with anything you or your horse needs, she is always walking around checking on our babys making sure everything is safe an sound, like most barns theres time you can come an go , Not tomars cindy considers everyone family we can come an go anytime of day, or night to see our horses, for the workers heather an kevin I cant say enough , they are always there for anything your horse needs , my old boy can be very stubborn, he has cushions an had absences , needed his hoof wrap everyday they were there everytime I needed help picking up feet keeping him calm , when he choked , heather an kevin sat with me an help with the vets all night, when he had to get 78 pills a day for weeks , he would not take pills from me but kevin my horse trusted took the pills like candy he has a very kind soul, I cant say enough the love they show, this is my horses retired home if anyone has any questions about this barn contact me , we are never leaving, our forever home
