We called on March 16 and said we need a parking spot for our trailer at a storage facility where…read moreit will be behind a gated area for security. The iStorage rep on the phone suggested the 230 Grayton Village Rd location and said there was a spot we could reserve. We asked if it would be in the gated area and he ensured us that it would. There was a cheaper paid parking lot down the street we could've used but we needed a gated, secure area so we paid more for iStorage. We had to pay for a whole month as well even though we needed it for 5 days. When we arrived after a 14 hour drive, we used the provided gate code and pulled into the gated area. The numbered spot they booked us was not in the gated area. It was a regular spot in the parking lot in front of the storage facility with zero security. We are positive this is not what they guaranteed when we booked it. We called them and asked them and they said oh, sorry, I guess the guy on the phone didn't have a map to this facility to see where the parking spot was. Then they said we would need to pay $67 more for a spot inside the gated area. This is extremely frustrating as we had no other option at that point. We feel that it was extremely unfair that we had to pay an additional amount for a parking spot in the gated area when this is what they guaranteed us in the first place. It was extremely unprofessional and disappointing that they required their customer to pay for their mistake. When we came back 5 days later to pick the trailer up we couldn't get into the gated area because they said we needed to sign a new rental agreement since we had transferred to a new spot our original signed agreement was void. We checked our email and didn't receive this new rental agreement until we were on the phone with them complaining the gate code they gave us wasn't working. This whole situation of parking a trailer in a secure place for a few days should've been simple, but it was not. I would go somewhere else where you know what you asked and paid for will be there when you arrive.
