I couldn't have been happier with the service from the day I went in to Check out the space and ended up renting it that day until i moved into a new home and needed my belongings. The ease of opening and closing my account was super quick and easy. The staff is very friendly, the building is always clean even the bathroom! I appreciate speaking with Phill so very much. He has a way of putting me at ease and his willingness to help me is appreciated. Recently I had an issue with an employee at my Pain Management Center that required me to speak with upper management to figure out a solution. I had the pleasure of explaining that I had few calls to make on the day of the incident. One of the calls was to City of North Port, my storage facility and the last call was purposely to Pain Center because I knew I had to speak with that difficult employee. I asked the manager to please explain to me, why is it a conversation with the guy that keeps my (JUNK) LOL!! a pleasant and enjoyable conversation and a person over my health care is the complete opposite.? Moving day was very stressful. Arrived at storage unit and there was a car that wasn't loading or unloading and just parked in loading dock. So my movers had to unload from parking lot. Door to unload was locked and was told we had to put code in each time we had a load! We unloaded for 3 hours and car was still parked and no evidence of any loading or unloading. Management was not helpful in any way and not friendly! It was the worst experience! Returned 2 days later and door to unload was open and no code was required! Just walked right in. They told us on moving day door had to be sured for security reasons! read more

We are very pleased with Southern Self Storage. The staff is very helpful and the place is very clean. We like the security with 16 cameras. The free truck for move-in was a really nice "plus". One drawback from our perspective is the limited loading dock space. It will allow 2 trucks or 3 cars but other than that its tight. Also the space for getting to & from your loading vehicle is limited, so people have to juggle the access to the entry. I would also prefer slightly larger elevators. You can get two of the "dollys" into one but its a little tight. Wes K read more
