We hired Southern Gardens to provide a major upgrade to our landscaping. SG was contracted to repair our irrigation system, install a hardscape walk-way, clean up our existing landscaping, and install sod and seed in various areas of our yard. They assured me that their services would be guaranteed, and because we had a working irrigation system they would stand behind all grass that was installed.
At the completion of the job (April 2017), everything looked great, but there was an issue with one irrigation valve. They sent one man out to repair the valve. The valve and sprinkler area seemed to be working just fine. 3 months after the completion of all work, the sodded areas of grass looked stellar, but the seeded areas began to die, and became overgrown with weeds. An enormous spot of the seeded area, not only died, but was a soggy mess. I sent pictures to the owner of the company. He assured me it was a busted pipe underneath that was leaking. It was in the exact same spot that one of his men repaired the broken valve. Once I called this out, he said "there is no way one of my men would have caused a leak like that".
A few weeks later his daughter(manager) was sent out to our property, to assess the dead areas of grass and irrigation. She informed it was the soil and terrains fault that the grass was dead. She made this claim after their crew had completely dug up my yard, installed 3 truck loads of top soil, and supposedly restored the PH balance of the soil. At the end of our meeting, I expressed how unhappy I was with the final results that we had paid for. I asked both the manager and the companies owner if they would honor the work they did. Their response... "We'll re-seed your lawn for $1500 and we'll repair your leaking irrigation at $65 per man-hour." Wow, so this is how this company treats customers after spending $1,000s of dollars!
