I will post this review under her listing, too, but worth knowing they are in the same space and both awesome. Prices were great, too! I still feel like there's a lot in this store I haven't seen lol I've really come to like it. They had lots of two piece sets in different colors, a whole section that looked like school uniform stuff, a large section for scrubs. We just finished lunch across the street and decided to check it out. In past experiences, these boutique stores I find are often wildly expensive and only good for the special occasion outfit, but I was surprised at Sweet Peas. Not only did they have multiple racks of 40% off items from last season, their full price items were not outrageously priced. It's still a curated boutique and the prices reflect that, but I felt it was very reasonable. The owner of the store started it because she has two granddaughters and she was very helpful while we browsed the racks. The owner obviously grew suspicious of how long I was in there looking around and started giving me strange looks like she thought I was going to steal something. When I got to the counter, she was looking at everything I put up there and looking at me like I was doing something wrong. It was very disrespectful and I will never be back. I can't recommend Sew Fabulous based on my experience. I hope this helps anyone who's considering…read moreusing them, because I wish I had paid closer attention to reviews before booking. I chose Sew Fabulous because it's close to my home, a friend had a good experience with them, and I was willing to pay more for quality and convenience. My dress was an Azazie bridesmaid dress, and I only needed the hem shortened. I booked six weeks in advance, so there was no rush fee. I paid the required $75 appointment fee, changed into my dress, and the hem was pinned in just a few minutes. When the estimate was calculated, I was quoted $255 to hem the dress. I understand every business has the right to set its own prices, and I'm not criticizing them for charging what they believe their work is worth. I was simply caught completely off guard. My dress cost around $80, and based on conversations with others--including someone who had used this shop for a similar dress--I had no reason to expect a quote anywhere close to that amount. I politely asked if the estimate was correct because I genuinely thought there might have been a calculation error. Instead of feeling like there was room for a conversation or even a second look at the estimate, I immediately felt like the focus shifted to explaining their policies and that the $75 appointment fee would not be refunded if I chose not to proceed. While I understand those policies are posted and businesses have every right to protect their time, I left feeling like there was very little effort to understand why I was so surprised or to work through the situation with me. The price itself wasn't what bothered me most--it was how the interaction was handled. I came in intending to hire them, not to shop around or waste anyone's time. Walking away without any work done but still out $75 left me feeling taken advantage of rather than cared for as a customer. If you do choose Sew Fabulous, I strongly recommend asking for a rough price range before paying the appointment fee so you know whether it's within your budget. I also recommend understanding their payment policies ahead of time, as they differ from many alteration shops. This is only my personal experience, but it wasn't one that left me feeling valued as a customer, and because of that, I wouldn't return or recommend them.
