No TV In Second Room Old/Dirty Furniture Oyster Pointe has been a fixture in our lives since i was 12. We have owned a timeshare there since 1986. I remember when we use to take a boat out and park it near a sand bar, get out and pick clams out of the mud with our feet. I haven't seen any clams in a while, but the fishing is still usually good. Last year, we took a boat out, not far, less than a mile, because the boats are geeting old and we have been going to a close spot for the last few years. On our way to the spot, i felt the boat jerk and then a load sound. It felt like I hit something, but there was nothing sight. When we got back, the dock help notified us that he had to keep our keys(bobber) and i had to go to the office the next day. The following morning we went to the office and we were informed that the gear broke on the boat because we hit a rock and we needed to pay $300.00 to fix the boat. We were very upset because we did not hit anything , but the dock-master assured us in his professional opinion that we did indeed hit something. He did not say his dock-mates made a mistake or someone else did, but insisted it was our fault. Well, needless to say, we paid the $300.00 fee to fix the boat. Fast forward this year, brand new year and the fishing is good, second time taking out the boat during our vacation and the same exact thing happens! We tested the boat, very old boat, by the way, to avoid this happening again. No sound was heard. About five minutes into our boat ride, i started to hear a light rattle, then boom, same thing! Nothing in site, no sand bar, no rocks, nothing. Boom! At that point we were already close to our destination so we hoped that it was something else but we felt like it was deja vu. Our child was on board scared the same thing was going to happen this year. After reassuring our child nothing was going to happen, it happens again and he is hysterical crying that we were going to be standard. We made the best of the fishing. We did well, caught fish, had fun on that note. On our way back, we didn't make it, the boat stalled and did not go into gear. The deckhand towed us back and said again it was our fault and we did not know how to drive a boat. He kept our keys again. The next day, same story, the dock-master informs us that we ate going to need to pay for damages to the boat. We talked with a mechanic and he told us a gear tooth could have been loose and it just happen to give with us on the boat. There is no way the staff can tell that we were directly in fault of damaging the boat and it is unfair to blame us or others that have used the boat. In my opinion, they are not doing a good job of budgeting this into their cost of doing business. The solution is definitely not to blame guests and ruin their vacation. I know they recently increased the price for renting the boats. Why isn't that increase going to the budget of fixing their boats? Maybe they need to raise prices again? Or raise prices for guests that are not owners. It is imperative they come up with a solution rather than punishing their guests.

Although we are on the second floor, we can hear everything from down below us. There is supposed to be a limit on the number of people in a room, but the people below us have way more than the allowed amount and we can hear the kids running all around. The bar across the street plays music so loud, and we are clear in the back, but we can still hear it in our unit. The swimming pool is nice as it's salt water, and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The loungers are made for very short people, as I am 5' 2" and my feet hang off the edge. They are very uncomfortable for any length of time. For us, the problem was the guests. There was a family with 10 children, so you can imagine how loud and crazy it was there. Even the adults were so loud and noisy that it wasn't a relaxing time at all. The pool is open until midnight, and loud people are using it every night, so don't plan on going to sleep early. Although there are signs that say no scooters, bikes, etc., kids are riding them all over the sidewalks. Twice we have almost been run over. No management around to do anything. They must have sprinklers running at night, as our car was covered with sprinkler water the first two nights, and if you live in Florida, you know that's a bad thing. I have had to take a bucket of water out and wash our car so that the spots aren't embedded in our matte paint. The grounds here are very nice, and for the most part the unit is in decent shape, but my experience has been lousy so I wouldn't even think about returning.

Led by owner Wendell, the staff--Flor, Lillian, and Carol--meticulously maintain the property. The paint's fresh and colorful, landscaping is impeccable, everything's clean, and every issue is addressed immediately. When we had a small glitch with our air conditioner, a repairman remedied it as soon as Wendell learned about it. 3. There's a real sense of community among the guests, many of whom are regulars. Because of its small size, there's an intimacy that we seldom encounter in larger resorts. Our dog Mo made friends with everyone, including other four-legged visitors. 4. Guests are welcome to no-charge commercial grade washers and dryers, fridges and freezers full of snacks and beverages, a barbecue area with gas grills and tables, and plenty of beach-side seating. We even caught a couple of SpaceX launches from the beach. 5. Outdoor activities: I'm a cyclist and the stretch of A1A that SSR sits on is perfect for flat-land riding. Sebastian Inlet State Park and Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, the nation's first NWR, are close by. I'm not a fisherman, but other guests did plenty of fishing from the beach. 6. No USB ports. -AC evaporator drain pump will sound like a garbage disposal turned on in your bedroom in the middle of the night. - Sheer drapes in living room allow other quests passing by to see in the room. - Small BBQ grill's were very grimy and greasy. They use 1lb fuel tanks you will need to unscrew and check the weight before attempting to grill. - Like at least one other reviewer mentioned, there is no housekeeping. You'll need to hoof your trash to the bins at the front of the property by the entrance gate. - Morning coffee, if they set it up (programmed timer), is in a questionably clean 12cup standard coffee maker. Hardly suited for 8 two bedroom suites. The breakfast nook is literally in the laundry room. When we went to see about washing a load of clothes afterhours, we found damp linens in all the washer machines from being left there by the staff earlier. The dryers were full of dried linens as well. You wouldn't want to see the area were they fold the linens. They hung washes bath rugs on the PVC fence along the back of the suites to dry. - Room door sweeps provide gaps for insects to enter freely. We stuff paper towels at night where we could see the gaps. That helped. - assume nothing in the kitchen cabinets, nor the small appliances, is clean. - Most linens were thread bare, and quite stiff due to the hard water. Shannon Perez and her team were supposed to be our wedding planners. They were supposed to take care of our ceremony (which we paid $5076.84 + the $1200 retainer fee) which included but was not limited to flowers, aisle decor, bouquets, photography, videography, favors, music, officiant, etc. etc. Since we are from Chicago, we were unable to reschedule and relocate our destination wedding for over 100 out of town guests. We tried numerous times to get a refund from Shannon Perez and Simply in Love but she mentioned she would "only entertain the idea of a refund if another couple booked our cancelled date." (Which was less than two months away at the time.) We had also messaged Shannon and her team before the hurricane, concerned about making our payment because of the severity of the storm. She responded after the hurricane and after she processed the payment saying "We made it through the storm!! The beaches are fine and your wedding is still on schedule for November 11th :)" (not true. they weren't fine. They were a mess- we checked.) We were originally booked for "the dream" package for our wedding. Since our wedding was cancelled due to damages sustained from the hurricane, Shannon Perez and her team did not perform our November 11th wedding in Cocoa Beach, Florida. We did not receive any of the services from her or her team. We also tried to contact the bank for help with this matter. Shannon Perez (owner/ founder/ planner) of Simply in Love is trying to keep the $5,076.84 without performing any of the services. WHAT A SCAM! PAID $6276 and got nothing out of it!
