Whyyy was all of my plumbing removed during the course of this project?. He ran off with $11,000 of my money and left me with a house that was unlivable. He had no clue of building codes and the house could not pass inspection from the city inspector. He stole my materials and I was told by Harold to file it on my home owners insurance. He was reckless and careless with my property and could care less that my house siding was under the demo debris that needed to go back on my house when the job was complete. None of these things happened in our case. From another state, we hired 5A to complete a full house remodeling job that included water damage and mold abatement. Although we could tell not much work had been done, he kept demanding more and more money from us. At one point he had not applied $40,000 that we had paid him, but was asking for more. After being way over budget and time, as well as, terrible work quality, we had to fire them and hire another company to take over and manage the job. We are now paying to re-work much of what had been done because it was so poorly executed and would never have met code. He rarely shows up on the job and he kept our property filthy. He had no respect for anything on our property. Windows were broken that we must now repair. He cuts corners! He would not communicate what was going on at our home or if he did, it was a lie. For example, we met one Saturday to go over the job and he never told us we had failed our inspection just 1 day prior. He kept atrocious books. When we asked to see his accounting, it was just a file of receipts that could have been for any job. He is so unprofessional. The builder will not respond to our letters asking for our deposit and other monies that are ours, so he left us no other recourse but to pursue it legally. It has been such a disappointing experience.

As a retired licensed architect typically does, I obtained several estimates to repair it. Four quality roofers all said that the metal roof was improperly installed with a number of Z-Clips missing, and the only solution was to remove the metal roof and replace it with a fortified shingle roof. Estimates for this were between $35,000 and $48,000. Replacing the metal roof was quoted at $65,000. Another friend recommended Gafford Roofing. I called, and they arrived quickly. Mr. Gafford said, "We can repair your roof, and you do not need to replace it." Their price was exceptionally reasonable, and two years later, we have NO roof leakage. Their leak expert had to return a couple of times as they tried different solutions, and I credit him and the Gaffords with finding the causes and correcting them. I can not say enough about their quality work, their promptness, and their kind interactions with me and my wife.
