I went to several salons with my daughter, she thought she knew what she wasnted, but when consultants pulled, nothing looked or felt right. She thin but pear shaped, and she thought she wanted to camoflage her hips. We went out to Southern Bride, and the consultant listened to her, and then said, 'No, you want to show that body off." Pulled a stapless dress for her, and she strutted around like a damn supermodel in it. She didn't want strapless tho, so the consultant pulled one in the same shape, but with a lace bodice and shoulders. It was perfect. She was beautiful and confident on her wedding day. This woman made all the difference for us. So happy we drove all the way out there for it. read more

This is a long one! To summarize save yourself the stress and headache and go with another bridal salon! Southern Bride has the most disorganized and unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. My initial appointment was great. Unfortunately, after they made the sale, customer service went from ten to a zero. I purchased the "diamond package" when I purchased my dress, and because of the disorganization, lack of communication, and incompetence of the staff, I was unable to use it. Trying to get any appointments scheduled to use the benefits, was impossible and caused so much of a headache that we decided to go somewhere else for the rest of the bridal party. At each following appointment, I was met with unprofessionalism from the staff. The first time going back, I brought with me a coworker and left completely embarrassed as the staff/management around me continued to yell, burp, and be completely inappropriate while I tried my dress on. After the initial purchase I always felt second to them trying on the dresses for whatever social media post they were making that day. When they sent my dress off for alterations I received letters in the mail congratulating me on my wedding and asking that I send in photos. When I called to confirm they had the right wedding date, I was informed that thought I had gotten married since my dress was no longer there. They were the ones who sent it off for alterations! I had also ordered my veil there and was originally told that it would be in around march 2022. It didn't arrive then, and while I do understand shipping delays each time I called to check in I was rudely told I shouldn't worry about it and that it would be here before my wedding. When my veil did arrive, I didn't find out until much later because they had somehow changed my phone number associated with my account and notified the wrong individual, I went to pick it up and spoke to the manager, Kati, about all the issues I had been having and asked about getting the package refunded since I had yet to be able to use any of the benefits of it. I was told that they were not allowed to process any refunds in store and that it would have to go through the owner. I then asked if the owner could contact me. This never happened. Since I wasn't able to get this refunded, I decided yet again to try to use one of the benefits after the wedding, dress preservation service. The week that I got back from my honeymoon, I brought the dress up to be sent off. I asked lots of questions and I was told that the dress would be shipped off within the next week and that I would receive it back within 3-6 months. This was the first week of November, so I was told it would be April at the latest. I called the preservation company (I had received the information on them from southern bride, and was told any inquiries after send off would go to them) and when I called I was told they had no record of ever receiving my dress. I then called southern bride and asked what was going on, I was told they would look into it and get back to me shortly. I called back after a few hours and was told that the dress was sitting in a box and had yet to be shipped out, even though I brought it to them 5 months ago! When I asked why this was, I was told that they had to wait to get a dozen dresses before sending it off. I asked why I was told I would have it back April at the latest if this was the case and why they didn't let me know this to begin with and was told that their policy changed. I then asked if their policy had changed within the week that I brought it, and it was supposed to be shipped out why they didn't call to inform me. I was met with the response that I was the only bride that had an issue with it, and they hadn't informed any of their brides this. I made the decision to pick up my dress after that, I don't trust them to handle anything properly anymore. Dealing with Southern bride was by far the most stressful part of planning my wedding, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

Horrible horrible place... unless you look like a millionaire walking in you might as well forget it the place suits better as a business for window shopping teenagers to come in and play Dress up rather than just buying anything at all staff is usually rude and could care less if you buy anything or not my mother recently just went in to search for a cocktail dress for a work event party and instead of being asked for help the lights were shut off and the door locked on her glad there's honest people out there because if not the store could of easily lost thousands in merchandise due to leaving a customer in the dark..... read more

First of all, I will say that I think Southern Bride has a good selection of beautiful dresses for the prices that they offer. I was able to purchase a beautiful dress for a very reasonable price, and I can at least be grateful for this. However, the rest of my experience with them was absolutely abysmal. When I first went into Southern Bride, I ended up falling in love with a dress that happened to be an excellent price, so I decided to go ahead and purchase it. I was told that if I purchased bridesmaids dresses and tuxes for my groomsmen here I would receive a discount. In the interest of simplicity, my fiancé and I decided that this would be the best choice. Since their selection of bridesmaids dresses was very limited I was told to go online and pick out a dress that they could order. When I gave them the information for the dresses I wanted, the lady working at the time asked me what fabric the dress was made out of, satin or chiffon. I told her that I was not sure, but that I THOUGHT it was satin. Instead of simply pulling the catalog and double-checking, she took this as fact and pulled out the color samples. For those of you that don't know this, because I didn't either, the color samples for these fabrics are very different. "Aubergine" for satin looks more like a lavender on chiffon fabric. I chose what I thought would be an eggplant color from the sample I was given. Now, let me stop here and inform you that right about this time my fiancé and I found out, quite unexpectedly, that I was pregnant. So, what would have already been a stressful time had just increased exponentially. After working hard to move up dates on the venue, musician, photographer, etc., I was thrilled to hear that my bridesmaid's dresses were in! I went into the store, and while the dresses WERE beautiful, they were NOT aubergine. I was told that there was nothing that could be done. Nothing. They did not offer free, or even discounted, alterations for the dresses. I then informed them that I had bridal portraits the following week and would need my dress and headpiece by a certain date. I picked up the dress several days early, but was told that they did not have the headpiece at the store. My bridal portraits were the following Saturday, forty-five minutes away from where I live. I also had to travel an hour in the opposite direction that day to pick up my bouquet. I explained this to them and was promised that my headpiece would be in the shop by a certain time. But... lo and behold, when I came to pick it up on Saturday they acted as if they did not even know what I was talking about. I was then told that after PROMISING to call the seamstress yesterday and make sure that she knew to bring the headpiece for me, the owner, Vicky, had forgotten and the seamstress had no idea that she was supposed to bring it, so it was still at her house and that the only way for me to have it in my bridal portraits was to wait at the shop while she drove home to get it. So, already running late for my appointment, I now have no time to even quickly stop and grab some lunch, and when you're pregnant... this REALLY sucks. I informed the owner that I was very upset that she had failed to do what she promised me that she would and her excuse was that she had been sick. Well, sorry lady... but I was pregnant, and for those of you with children, you understand that for the first couple of months, you're pretty much "sick" every day. Somehow I managed to deal with this and still adhere to the needs of my 120 students. Forgive me for not having sympathy that you can't make one phone call for one bride. The sickness you had must have been unbelievably debilitating. After my bridal portraits, they took the dress to clean and steam it. When I went to get my dress I saw that there was a stain on the train of the dress. At this point, I am almost in meltdown mode. I pointed it out to the owner, and was told that since my mother had gone over the stains on the dress that needed to be cleaned from the bridal portrait session, it was her fault. And let me set the stage for this conversation... why I expected it to be in any way rational, I have no idea. The bridal associate that I am speaking to about this literally has BLACK, wet, hair dye in her hair, in a store full of white dresses... with no wrap or anything covering it. There aren't many things I can think of that would be any less professional in this line of work. They finally offered me a second free cleaning. And ironically, after they had argued that the stain was there before (although had not been marked for cleaning) and that some stains "just could not be gotten out", the second cleaning did the trick. On top of all this, I later found out that the bridesmaids dresses had not been steamed, and my bridesmaids all had to take their dresses elsewhere and PAY to have them steamed. So. I absolutely loved this store! I got my dress there and the lady that helped me sat down with me and really got to know me, my wedding, and exactly what I was looking for in a dress. Every dress she pulled out for me was exactly what I was looking for and in my price range. And I ended up finding a dress! Also, my dress came in two months early!!Overall the best experience I've had while dress shopping! Highly recommend! read more

This is the worst bridal shop. First of all, their sample sizes are for teenagers and most dresses do not fit correctly when trying on gowns. I ordered my dress July 2017 and was told it would be here by December 2017. It is now January 2018 and the store "doesn't know where it is". I also ordered my 8 bridesmaids dresses there. When I went to pick up the dresses the girl behind the counter gave me all 8 at once. As I was struggling to open the door to leave (with all 8 dresses) the two girls behind the counter just stood there. The worst customer service I have experienced at any retail store. Would not recommend, you are better off going to David's Bridal. read more
