This is a good small studio, and the most affordable yoga in the area. The highest proportion of…read moreclasses are taught by Kimberly, the owner, but there are numerous other teachers as well. Classes tend to be small, ranging from six to twenty people, and generally everyone gets some individual attention, especially those who have less experience or experience trouble getting into the poses. The first class is free, and after that $14 each, although teachers, students, and military personnel get classes for $9. Classes are definitely a physcial challenge, both to strength and flexibility. The only real improvements I could see would be a larger practice area and a bigger changing area/locker room. I'm a guy who sweats a lot, and if I need to go anywhere after a class, the best I can do is a baby-wipe shower in a one-person bathroom.

I am not a member but I dropped in for a special class that's being offered at 7:30pm Wednesdays…read moreduring the month of July... Restorative Yoga with Helen Summer. Since this was my first time at this studio my first class was free (drop-ins thereafter are $10 I believe). The clientele was a bit older for this class (as in past their college/grad school years), I'm not sure what it's like for the traditional classes. Kimberly the owner was very friendly and welcoming upon my entrance and "registration" (they have you fill out a release waiver). The studio is just one big room, with storage and one bathroom in the back. I brought my own mat, but they do provide all other props free of charge (blocks, blankets, sandbags). Unfortunately my asthma flared up and I started having a coughing fit during the wind down of the class (gah so embarrassing) so I excused myself to go cough in the bathroom, when I returned to my mat, Helen had put a few tissues and a cough drop down for me annnnnnnd eventually had to give me a water bottle. Although I was embarrassed, I really didn't feel any judgement. Thank you!!!!!! The class was excellent, very relaxing and a nice change (very good for the lower back pain I was having). Amsa also offers basic flow, vinyasa flow, deep stretch, yin yoga, and gentle stretch as well as special events led by out of town yogis! Check their Facebook for updates. I highly recommend!

The entire intro experience was welcoming, fun, and less intimidating than expected. My first class I was shocked at how quickly we went into an upbeat, music-synced aerobic routine - very much like what we called an "energizer" in school: easy to follow and fun to do in unison with a group. There were small reps with provided stretchy bands, light handheld weights (I went with 2 lbs for my first class), and these squishy playground-type balls. This all sounds easy, but halfway through class, my legs were uncontrollably shaking and I had sweat visibly dripping off of my face onto the floor. The next day I could barely move my legs. Low impact, high reward! I've now been back 10 times this month and don't plan on stopping! Highly recommend!

The hour long sessions go by quickly and are a great combination of traditional barre workouts while incorporating cardio and light weights (2-3 pound). I had taken classes at another barre chain in town and never felt like I was truly working out, but Barre 3 will make you sweat and feel like you're time was well spent with an effective, fast-paced workout. The instructors were very helpful and offered modifications for beginners, intermediates, and those who were experienced during the classes.

I have attended classes on Sunday mornings so when I talk about my experience it's for Sunday mornings bright and early, gotta love those annoying morning people(yep that's me ‍) So when I attended my first class I was a little nervous hell im no spring chicken anymore, I'm old my joints should be oiled for flexibility but what the hell let's give it a try... I walked in and found I wasn't the only old one lol no offense there were people of all ages. I found my little spot for my mat in the back by the corner. I always like being in the back so no one can see me and how awkward i look with some of these poses but secretly in the back of my mind I'm also wondering if my cheap Walmart Yoga pants are showing my ass every time I bend over or as my son calls it "going invisible" Lord help the person doing downward facing dog behind me and happen to look up and see more than they bargained for ‍!! So I'm getting into the poses the instructor has now succeeded in making me feel relaxed forgetting all my insecurities. She is wonderful love love the instructor!! I can go on and on but let me get to the review great place it's clean, accepting, judgement-free, reasonably priced ($10) a class and a starting place to become one with you‍
