Our outdoor compressor unit has one of those garbage ECM's for the cooling fan. It died after about 5 years, but the unit is still under warranty, so I was calling around to find a reliable company to do the warranty replacement. Calling Southeastern Cooling ended up being a very smart choice. From the moment I began speaking with Adam on the phone, I was impressed by the level of courtesy and professionalism I experienced. I explained the problem and what sort of service we required. He managed to source the replacement ECM and schedule a tech to come out in just a matter of hours--same day. Gage, our technician, was prompt, courteous, professional, and quite humble--that's an often overlooked trait these days. He was able to get the ECM swapped out fairly easily and got our system back up and running. As someone with nearly 3 decades working with tech, I was, of course, carefully paying attention to his work--he managed to impress me a number of times with how carefully and thoroughly he handled the replacement process, even ensuring that the wiring was just as neat and tidy as how it was when he started working on the unit. Overall, this initial experience with Southeastern Cooling was remarkable and we will likely call them again when the need arises. Though, when we do call, we'll be requesting Gage. read more

A/C went out on one of the hottest weeks so far. Original company that installed our unit in 2013 sold out to "another" local company to which they said they had no record of our unit. Even though typically based off address or serial number. Finally located our purchase to let us know the 10 yr warranty apparently changed to 5 yrs instead - ultimately that was 3 yrs ago and now not covered. So we cancelled service with that company and called SE Cooling instead. Rapid response, called before arriving, and was on-site fix very quick. Dont waste your time with others. Just call SEC and be done with it. :) read more

All in all Southeastern Cooling completed the repairs correctly, but lack of communication between the estimator and repair crew left something to be desired. I needed to replace my duct work in an aging house. 20 years of wear and tear made the duct work sweat onto my ceiling and to me it was worth being done with the issue be replacing everything. Also the duct work was not suspended and was lying on the rafters compressing the insulation around the ducts. The plenum on top of the AC unit was starting to rust. Replaced that. Finally wanted to install an attic fan to hopefully cool off the attic during these hot summer days. First to arrive was the estimator. Quoted me a fair price for all of the work involved. Made a written quote with two different options and the attic fan. We scheduled the work a week out. I took off work the two days to be there. The day before they cancelled because of the workload they had that week. (Really busy down here in the south during the summer.) I went back into work and then we had some back and forth to figure out a better day for the repairs which was two days later. When the crew of three arrived about 7AM, they knew that they were there for some duct work repairs but told me they did not know the extent of what I wanted. It appeared that nothing about the project was communicated to them. I had to show them the estimate so they knew what I was expecting and that is where most of the issues ended. The crew lead and the two younger men got right to it. They took measurements and disassembled the duct work in about 1.5 hours and then left to go get the new duct work. By 4:30 the crew had replaced the plenum and reinstalled/hung the new duct work. They used tarps to catch most of the mess and everything was functional. There was even a second crew that showed up at the end of the day to make sure they had finished. The attic fan was installed the next week by another crew taking probably about two hours to install. The estimator had ordered the fan but it was not given to the first crew for installation. A second visit had to be scheduled (they ran out of time on the first visit anyways). Once again tarps were used to catch the mess and trash was disposed of. read more
