The school is from 8:45 - 12:30pm on Saturdays, which makes it perfect for adults like me who are studying Japanese after work. There is also a childrens school as well. The instructors are either native Japanese teachers or passionate bi-lingual folks. Each week we go over a different chapter and do many speaking exercises and a program at the end of the year. I am signing up for Level 2 and I feel that I am getting much more than I expected. I can speak back to my parents and family members in nihongo (which is finally giving me legit Asian status), I can read hiragana and katakana (which otherwise look like a random collection of slashes and swoops) and I can converse some. The teachers are really cool and you can tell they really care about teaching the Japanese language and culture. If you had any inkling to learn about Japanese and have a Saturday morning open, I highly recommend this school! You will not regret it. Great for kids!

She present herself as capable of supporting struggling students, but when it actually matters, especially in urgent situations like exam preparation, they turn families away. My son is in HONORs PROGRAM so being from private school to public school, and as a busy parent , I ask help from this center to guide my son in his academic however the gap between what is promised and what is delivered is significant. If your child needs consistent, reliable academic support, this is not the place. You may end up spending a substantial amount of money with little to no meaningful results.

They greeted us and gave us their perspectives and it immediately felt like home. The children themselves were friendly and eager to say hello to my then-4-year-old and as soon as our tour ended, I knew this was the place for us. Now that we're nearing the end of our first year at OLF, I can confidently say our instincts were correct -- the teachers are caring and competent and the community is cohesive, but most importantly, there is a strong emphasis on education, fellowship, and safety. Teacher Michelle is the best and her staff is always so helpful. From dropping him off with the morning teachers and picking him up with the afternoon teachers it is a pleasant and wonderful experience! There was a point where my son was starting to cry when he was going to the school due to a child hitting but in communicating with the teacher and trying some solutions and moving/speaking with kids, he was a happy camper within a week. My oldest participates in the After school program which is AMAZING! Mr. Vincent helps my son with his homework and is very patient. I go over all his homework and make sure all is completed and correct. I like that there are young educated adults who are the leaders for the summer and after school programs. He also loves the extra curriculum activities that FECC offers and we pay for. Both of my sons enjoy playing and making friends with kids at FECC. These same kids go to school and/or play recreational sports with such as flag football, soccer, baseball, karate, etc so it is always nice to see the kids and parents at FECC. Small community. I highly recommend this place. I just wish they had the program last for students passed 6th grade. :( Other than that, I love this place.

Half of the summer fee was $725 which I paid 2 weeks prior to the program start date. My 6 year old daughter came home every day telling me how the "teachers" yell at the kids and say things such as "deal with it", and "that's not my problem". Now I don't even speak to my child that way. Another incident was my daughter told me that one of the "teachers" grabbed her arm and told her to throw her trash away. Totally unacceptable. How about I grab one of them?! Though they were fully staffed, they staff all seemed very young and inexperienced. Each day I went to pick up my daughter, I could never find her. The staff did not know who she was (mind you she was probably one of the few children there without a chinese last name- and my daughter is half chinese). The posted "schedule" was never correct so it would usually take me 10 minutes or so to locate my child. I was frazzled each time thinking she was kidnapped or lost (the facility is located at a church which is wide open to the parking lot and a main street). After dealing with the director and her assistant, I was even more displeased at how unprofessional and uncaring they were about the situation when I explained why we were leaving. They basically did not care and their attitude proved it. If you read my other reviews, you'll see that I mostly post when I'm happy, but seeing that nobody else commented about this place I feel like I would be doing a disservice by not sharing my bad experience. This place is a church hosting a summer program. Don't let it fool you.

I have taught at many, many tutoring centers (I have a Ph.D. in English), and D-Dim is far and away one of the best I have ever been a part of.
