This place and its staff are awful. I'm absolutely looking to switch to a different provider after just one visit!

My husband had to be admitted to the emergency room at 3 AM on Saturday morning recently and EMS refused to take him to Berkeley Roper even though they both are 10 minutes away and both have cardiac units! But they took him to Trident Hospital where there's a saying around here that if you go to Trident, you don't come out. But my husband did come out, but was not given very much attention. His cardiologist came there only once! I never never was told what they did to my husband, and what condition he was in after he was in the emergency room. I had to call the nurse for them to bring his food. And other than the kidney doctor, the only doctor that we saw was the doctor on duty to release my husband and I asked what does our doctor say and she just asked us what do you think? Do you think he's able to come home? well he wanted to come home of course.‼ when we first was going to Lowcountry cardiology. Dr.Hanger was our doctor and he left and went to MUSC downtown and we stayed with Lowcountry cardiology because it was so convenient. They have a very nice office near Tanger mall where they can't even do stress test there. But after my husband had heart failure and had to go to the emergency room at 3 AM Saturday morning a few weeks ago our cardiologist Dr. Looser only came there once on Sunday and went my husband had to have a procedure done Tuesday morning. It was done by Dr. Looser's associate Dr. Pringle's dr. Looser only came there once on Sunday and went my husband had to have a procedure done Tuesday morning. It was done by Dr. Looser's associate Dr. Pringle??? the evening after my husband's procedure the doctor on duty came to our room to ask if we thought he should be released! I asked what did the doctor say? And she said that they were not at the hospital and again she has a what do you think well, my husband wanted to come home so he did and could not sleep because he had water on his lungs this is Tuesday evening, and he was sent home from the hospital without the medicine he needed for that evening to keep his heart regulated, which is the reason he was in the hospital in the first place! He was not able to sleep in the hospital and when he got home, he thought he would be able to sleep well but he could not, and we propped him up so that he could get more oxygen and breathe so I called several times and finally talk to the doctor on Friday and demanded that he have an appointment Monday! On Monday we saw the position assistant who put him on some water pills, and he lost more than 15 pounds in two days because he has so much water on his lungs. So now we have left Lowcountry cardiology and have reconnected with Dr.Hanger our original doctor at this practice, who has an office on University Boulevard and is associated with MUSC‼!

I have been seeing Dr. Hangar since 2012. He has kept my heart going and is a very caring doctor.read more

There is a free shuttle that makes its way around campus throughout the day if you have scattered appointments or don't park in the closest location. There is a reception desk immediately in front of you as you enter the building if you need assistance. Don't be afraid to ask...this place is huge! If you have any extra time, take a walk (or ride the elevator) up the stairs to the open area to take in the view, or maybe relax between appointments. The clinics are located to the right as you enter. Stop at the registration desk to check-in and have a seat in the large waiting area. There is an outpatient lab so you don't have to go far if that is a follow-up from your visit. The diagnostic areas are down the hall to the left as you enter the building. There is a separate waiting room, but I suggest you check-in with the main registration area before heading anywhere else. It might just save you some time in the long run. Waiting rooms are spacious and seating is ample. Exam rooms are typical and adequate. Staff and physicians were very nice and friendly. If you find yourself in need of Cardiovascular services, I would definitely recommend getting a referral here.
