I called around 230pm and set a 5pm appointment for a haircut. Dude on the phone said no problem, took my name down and said see ya later. I arrived 8 minutes before my appointment; usually I get to my appointments early but it was rush out and I ran into more traffic than expected. This shouldn't matter as they close at 6. To my surprise when I walked up to the building the doors were locked and nobody was inside. I called twice incase they were in the bathroom or something. No answer. No haircut. Huge waste of my time. They lost my business. read more

Decent haircut. However, they kept on raising the prices. It's now outrageously expensive. Sign and website says they open at 10am 7 days a week, but every time I showed up at 10:15 on Sundays they were closed. Not good customer service. They need to acknowledge a customer when they walk in and let them know if/when they can squeeze them in. read more

I was looking for a new barber, someone with fade skills. But I didn't know where to start. My partner suggested I Yelp search a local joint. After reading about the Southeast Barbers, I decided to give them a shot. My barber was Guil. He took care of me. I love my haircut! The fade job is exactly what I wanted. I can't sing his praises enough. Definitely going back. read more

Had my hair cut 3 times there now, but I'm done. First couple times were fine, but last time I made an appointment that wasn't honored. Apparently the dude I had my appointment with decided to squeeze one of his buddies in before me, so it was 20 minutes after my scheduled time before he finished with that guy. Then he proceeded to go outside to have a smoke with that same dude for ten minutes before finally cutting my damn hair. No real apology for 30 minutes late on my appointment. This time I didn't even bother with the appointment since it didn't matter last time. Walked into the shop, nobody there. One barber smoking cigarettes out back. He finally came inside with his client/smoking buddy, but didn't know where the other barber was. I waited around for ten minutes before bailing. TL;DR- decent haircut, bad business practices. read more

Quality haircuts, modern style, good atmosphere, at the same price as most barber shops. Responsive to feedback, professional, and a shop that makes you feel comfortable. I've had my haircut by 3-4 barbers at SE Barber Company but Josh was my primary barber. He has a Lot of experience. I've been going here for for over 10 years back when the shop had a different name on SE Foster. 5 star shop. read more

Josh, Guil, Rob, and Jesse are all really awesome at what they do. A few years back my hairdresser was unavailable and I was just days from my wedding. I needed a cut, and quick. I went with a friend to "Heads High Barbershop" and met Guil. That was July of 2012. I have not gone back to my old hairdresser, because these guys are the best in town. You can not get much better. I have another review on their old page, hopefully they will get merged sometime soon, but I needed to get something on here so these guys get the recognition they deserve. read more

I was looking for a good barbershop for a while and could find anywhere that would cut my hair like my old barber. The guys at Southeast Barber did an amazing job. Cut my hair exactly like I asked. I've been there now twice and have been cut by two different barbers. Same amazing quality both time. Definitely recommend if you looking for a barber that would listen to what you want and actually give you a great haircut read more

No matter the person that does your hair, it's going to be great. The can work with guys that have shaggy hair and just want a trim, clean cut men that like neck and beard cleanup or those on the market for a shave design. They do it all. There's new faces at the new location, which is nice cause their customer base is growing but there's enough hands on deck to get you in and out pretty quick (unless you're going the whole 9 with your do). It's so awesome to get in and see this place growing, more importantly, I think think this is a great new establishment in the neighborhood. They don't seem to be afraid of cutting a kids hair either, if memory serves me, they're mostly dads that get to cut their own sons hair. Come see the new joint, play some dig dug while you wait and leave looking great. Syoy read more

Like I mentioned in the picture, I've been seeing Byran as my barber for a few years now, and he is professional and good at his craft. If your in the area, would highly recommend these guys. Side note: I heard some people complain about the "heavy" music or what not they play here, but realistically, you should at least assume that's a possibility with guys that have tattoos down to the knuckles, just saying! read more

Southeast Barber - I've been seeing Byran as my regular barber for a few years now, great guy and is very professional and good at his craft. Great cut! - Barbers Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Worst customer service and experience I've ever had trying to get my hair cut. Attempted to make an appointment and was told they don't make appointments to come in at 9 and they'd fit me in. At 10:30, after waiting for an hour, no one was in the shop, so I left. I tried again today and walked past a group of people smoking pot. Went in the shop and waited a few minutes until the group came in and asked if they could help. And was told they were booked solid until 5. I won't try again. I love to support small local businesses, but first you have to support yourselves. I would not recommend this business! read more

I am born and raised in the heart of Portland, and I can say this is easily the best barber shop in town. Amazing customer service and hospitality, but even better than that is the quality of haircuts. They will not let you leave the building if your cut isn't perfect. I trust SE Barber Co with my hairline every time ! Such a chill environment. Great music great people. read more

This is the place you go to when you realize you deserve the chance to look and feel good. The tattoo shop appeal, coupled with craftsmen that really know what they are doing makes for an experience. Visiting from Philly, this place adds to my list of why I want to move west. Also, I walked out of their knowing about people's lives: in a world where we see people dismossed and treated like commodities, this is the anti-establishment. Seriously check it out! read more

I'm a long time customer. Best barbershop in Portland. You want quality, you're going to pay for it. This place does the clean shave with those old straight razors. Best shave I've ever had. The razors aren't old jackass, I'm talking about the style. Keep up, now get in here to get the best experience you'll ever want. This place is a community, and family. I hope to see you in sometime when I'm in getting my fresh cut. read more

I went a few years without finding the right spot get a good cut, and then I drove past this place on my way home. I took the chance to come in, and see what they had to offer. They were able to clean me up, and walk out of there quite the happy customer. This has been my new barber shop since and have been coming in for the last 6months. Stopping by every month or so The barbers in there are real, and don't give you any of that fake attitude polluting Portland. It has the neighborhood feel, people popping in to converse, get their cut and everyone seems to know someone there. A quality that I appreciate quite a bit. The store front is clean, updated, and convenient. I have never waited more than 20-30 min as a walk-in during the week day, but can't say anything about the weekends. If you want some of that yuppy, fake service go elsewhere! If you like that real conversations, meeting others in your neighborhood, and some sweet cuts this is your spot. Its also very reasonably priced, and they all take cards from what I have noticed. read more

Given that my long-time barber in Corvallis is now temporarily in Bend, I've had the chance to try some new places. I gave Southeast a try after a solid recommendation from a colleague. Bryan was solid - he was inquisitive and patient to make sure he had all the right information before proceeding. They have house pomade for $10 that I'll have to grab on a subsequent visit. read more

My 5 year old son went here last week and now he's obsessed with this place. We were both treated so well.

Sooo... I called this place based on Yelp. Not only did they fit me in immediately and give me the warmest welcome ever... But, my cut is the best that I've gotten in my 3 years in Portland! It seriously rivals that of a South Philly haircut. These guys/girls actually care about the customer. I simply "googled" a picture of what I wanted... And, 1/2 hour later.... I got it! Thank you so much! read more

Good haircut. Terrible customer service from I think his name was josh. Dude did not make me feel comfortable at all and didnt even say a word when I got done and just went out to smoke a cigarette as if he was just annoyed by the whole process. Do not recommend read more

My boyfriend got his haircut here by one of the barbers. I don't remember her name (sorry/:) but she was amazing! He's horrible at describing things so I could tell it was a little difficult for her to fully grasp what he wanted so she took the haircut slow so they could adjust as they went and it came out really good. She also used a straight razor for most of it which was really cool. read more

Had high hopes because these guys are right down the street from my house, but not so much. Not a particularly great or bad beard trim (satisfactory) but the vibe and attitude of this place is gross. One of the barbers uses his personal phone for their bookings as well as in-shop music (which was, incidentally, really loud hardcore/metal) and answers the phone like a joker which may seem cute to him but is pretty off-putting to a cold caller. The guy who trimmed my beard did a fine enough job, but the tipping point for me was the staff insulting a customer right after he walked out the door. Not just for a few seconds but for several minutes. I'm sure they had all sorts of nice things to say about me when I left, too. No thanks -- I'll be taking my money elsewhere, and so should you. read more

I have been going to these guys for quite some time now. They used to be at Heads High Barbershop on Foster, but you know how things so now they call Woodstock their home. Guil and Josh do some excellent work, especially on fades and lining it up. There are a few new faces in here as well and they both give a mean haircut as well. The new shop is all shiny and open, but it still has the same chill feel as the old place. Now there's a few new arcade games in the shop to help pass the time on some of those busy days where you might have to wait for a chair. So grab a few beers and come in and enjoy one while listening to the great conversations that take place in the shop. read more

Southeast Barber - Can't meet the boyfriends parents with out a fresh haircut - Barbers Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Very unprofessional. Someone answered the phone and pretended to have a ridiculously thick accent, when I asked if I'd called the Southeast Barber I was mocked over the phone, same guy, different accent. I thought I possibly called the wrong place. Called back and there was no answer, so I called back again 5min later, still no answer. I waited 10 min and called back, answered "Southeast Barber" and I started to ask if there were any openings today... guy asks if I was the one that just called a bunch of times. I said yes... he just laughed and hung up. I don't know if they're just a-holes or socially-retarded - either way it's not a good place to go. read more

Don't let the distance detour you from this great place, the guys have a great energy and their skill is top notch. These guys know what they are doing and can have you in and out in a flash. Tried to give them zero stars, but the system won't let me. Made an appointment by phone. Guy hung up on me while I asked him if they wanted anymore info besides my name. Don't waste customers time! Obviously they won't be in business long read more

I totally thought this was going to be my new barbershop since it's so close to my house. Very disappointed though! I walked in with a few people being helped, and one other person waiting. Wasn't acknowledged at all, very awkward! Ended up waiting over an hour while more people came in. The barbers were more interested in their friends and people stopping by then actual customers! Having to go and check out one of the guys motorcycles. Also talking about a previous fight he was in and how he beat some guy up. I couldn't take it anymore and got up to leave. Finally being addressed I told them I don't have anymore time for this and how unprofessional they were. I'm never going back! read more

Always had good service here. Today the service was crappy. Barber was more interested in texting on his phone and talking with other Barbers and a friend. 75 percent of his time was spent doing this. Didn't stop texting until I went and stood close to where my family member was getting his haircut. Not friendly towards my disabled brother in anyway. Was not acknowledged on the way out. No thanks for coming or we'll look forward to seeing you again. Alot of foul language going on. I get that it's a Barbershop, but there were women and children in there.
