When my eyes met with the third male barber, he said something in Spanish, shrugged his shoulders and went back to his work. The first barber then said, "Nobody has time because they had schedules". I understand having scheduled clientele. But at least keep the attitude and change your sign to say "Walk-Ins Welcome Unless We Have Other Clients And Have a Better Attitude".

They greet you with a huge smile and if they know you, I guarantee you will get a hug and a hand shake. Very personal service, and people might think it's only a haircut right? Well nope, when I make the 45 minute drive its worth every minute, every mile I have to travel to get here. Appointments are highly recommended as they are only two staff members and since they are extremely good they are often booked. They also allow walk-ins mainly on Monday and Tuesdays because those are the slowest days. To show appreciation to the new customers that might pop in on Monday and Tuesdays they offer specials. $5 off haircuts and shaves. Regulars also get the same benefit on those same days. All in all this barbershop is my to go place when I need to get a haircut or even to clean up my beard. No one does it better than Mando, who is also the co-owner of the shop. He has cut hair for over 20 years and has his valid license and certificates.

I recently got a haircut at this barber shop and they honestly have terrible skills and need more…read moreproper training, I asked specifically for a mid drop fade and an 8 on top and the barber that attended me who's name is Steven vivas did not follow the instructions I gave him. He did not speak English so I was not able to communicate to him what I wanted specifically so I had to have someone translate for me, but even after being translated he still was unable to follow instructions. He eneded up taking too much hair off the back even though i had told him not to & he also pushed my hairline too far back when I had specifically told him to be teal carfull with my hairline. When I confronted him and pointed out his mistake he gave me a poor excuse as to why he was unable to do what I had told him to do. Even after I confronted his mistake he kept trying to fix his mistake but only made things worse, my best advice to anyone is only go to south side barber shops in Chicago they are the best and professional they might be more expensive but they will get you right. I would have just gone with my usual barber but unfortunately he was straight up booked for the entire week & I needed a haircut really bad so I had no choice but to try a new barber shop temporarily last minute. Save your money and dont go to VNZ Barbers they straight up horrible and will mess you up badly.

After waiting for more than an hour I left and I do not think I will be coming back as he was at home and was not busy with another customer etc. I tried talking to the other barber and he only said that online it says 4 pm and that's what it was in the system even after I showed him 3 examples of my time being set for 3:30 pm.

I did a lot of research while we were on lock down to see if I could find a good female barber but I also wanted someone that would know how to work with my texture of hair. I found an African American Female Barber. Her Name is Jessica. I booked my appointment through her website but there was an error with the booking. She contacted me right away and we got it squared away. On the day of my appointment I was about 3 minutes late but she was very kind about it. When I arrived she was waiting for me and went over what I was looking for and I showed pictures of how I would want it and we went over the texture of my hair. She was very through. As for The Fade Room Barber Lounge and how they are handling Covid-19 the place was very clean and there is a separator between each barber. Each Barber did have on a mask as well as every person that walked in was required to wear a mask. There is no waiting area right now because of Covid-19. They do provide Hand Sanitizer. The atmosphere there is hip and cool they have music playing and even music videos playing. With all that is going on I think it is a cool place to come and get your hair cut and relax. I would recommend Jessica and The Fade Room Barber Lounge
