It's close to home and offers a lot of activities to do. It has children's playground equipment, 2 basketball courts, 4 BIG, tennis courts, a dirt track, clean bathrooms, picnic area, nice spacious landscape and the most important, it's kept nice and clean. This park is one of my favorite parks in Studio City. They have recreation areas and can let you sign up for sports/classes that interests you. Recently, I had taken few classes with couple of their teachers/coaches and they are WONDERFUL! Earlier this morning I went to play tennis with one of my friends. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and to play. We don't keep score. We just like to play and have fun. You can walk, jug, people walk their dogs, kids, they have picnic areas and do a lot of kids birthday parties.. or you can just simply sit in silence and enjoy nature, the sunlight and have a good, peaceful time. Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. I am not going to dock a star for that since it meets all the other amenities & requirements.

He and his family are regulars here, as they live in the neighborhood, and even though we live a bit further away, I think we'll come back often too. It's an excellent park and our baby had the time of his life running across the lawn and playing on the playground. According to the C. family, this park is just far enough away from major thoroughfares that it never gets crowded. I'm always grateful for easy parking and this lot could not have been easier. Our group--eight adults and four children--took over a couple of empty picnic tables and had a lovely lunch. The kids played for two hours without getting bored. Ours was obsessed with the space-themed playground equipment, particularly the rocking space shuttle with the multiple steering wheels. We kept an eye on him, but the park was so spacious and far from cars that we were able to relax while he scurried around. If it had been up to him, he would've stayed at the park not napping all day. I'm sure he'll be thrilled to go back to North Weddington Park, and I look forward to our next visit.

Not squeaky clean, but a public restroom in LA. It's not Santa Clarita so don't expect much as far as newness and cleanliness. I would definitely come back if ever I am in the area and wanted to take a walk. It's near the freeway so it's not going to be peaceful, but if you're looking to get some steps in or place to lay on the grass and maybe read a book, this is a nice place. There is a solar-themed playground which is under repair right now. You'll find a large parking lot and parking along the perimeter. Not sure how busy it gets during the weekend or warmer weather. There are water fountains and a snack vending machine with healthier options. This is a great place to take a walk, exercise, hike, depending what you are in the mood for. The views are amazing and it's great to be surrended by nature, so many trees and birds (I have seen many blue birds around). Keep your music to yourself (bring those earbuds), there are many shady spots and cute flowers, depends on the season. Enjoyable spot in LA if you need to recharge, exercise, get away, be in the nature!

We got easy parking right in front of the playground on a Sunday at noon. The park was large and the playground was nice, tons of space for kids to run around, and structures to climb when the mood struck. Toby's parents took over a sizable area with picnic tables, where they set up a buffet lunch and, later, cake. My three-year-old will remember this party for the orange soda ("Why are you letting me drink this?"), but I appreciated the ample, well maintained neighborhood park. I'd recommend Valley Village Park for your recreational needs in this part of town.

The park is very beautiful with soft grass that seems well maintained and cut and there are zero foxtails which is a big plus. I can tell everyone respects the park as there's zero trash on the ground and everyone is picking up after their dogs. We did some excersizes with our dogs in the park and then we walked around the neighborhood and then back through the park along the nice dirt trail to end. Similarly to last time, again I noted ALLOT of off leash dogs. They seem well behaved but one did decide to run away from its owner and did a full circle around our pack and the owner was chasing it. This caused several dogs to react and get riled up and it really could have been an issue if that off leash dog had decided to run at any of us, thankfully it didn't, it was just happy to run in circles until its owner caught it. Overall despite this, these distractions were actually really helpful for practicing training with my dog, and she did amazingly. There were so many other distractions too such as loud cars or motorcycles and kids and people running or biking. I guess maybe my dog leveled up because it was a very successful walk! I was very happy today with the experience. All the people who live in the neighborhood next to this park are so lucky to be so close to such a beautiful and well maintained space.

Reading other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but when I pulled it up it was smaller than I thought it would be and I was a little concerned by the caution tape that is wrapped around many things in the park. Despite this, I got out with my puppy and walked around a little. There are several shaded areas with lush soft grass and it feels nice under the shade. There were zero foxtails or anything like that on the ground, it's just nice grass and some pine needles. My puppy really enjoyed sniffing around and just hanging out. We stayed a little while so I could take some photos of her. I did notice a couple of unfortunate characters who were sleeping under the trees in the far corners of the park. I also noticed some families enjoying the park and the little play area. Overall, not a bad park. I loved that it is spacious enough to avoid people and still be able to be under the trees. I could imagine bringing my other dog with me and playing ball with her here without worrying about anyone. The traffic noise is a little heavy though because it's right off the main street. If anything changes when I visit next week for the meetup then I'll update. Oh and, other people's reviews mentioned a squirrel infestation? I didn't see one squirrel while I was there. Maybe it was the time of year.

A lot of homeless, and weird people are around and staring at you and your children. Be cautious and careful. They usually have some events going on and recently attended a Mother's day type of an event where they sell all types of things. Mostly jewelry, artwork/sculptures and paintings. Some clothes too. The playground is safe for little children and the spongy floor is fun to play on. It is also safe if a child falls and will not hurt themselves. The park is full of squirrels and they can be dangerous at times. Watch out for them and your kids. The park is not well MAINTAINED!! A lot of trash is all around. Last but not least, they have NO BATHROOM! It's a bit of an issue for us and our children. Please, take the time and get some sort of a portable bathroom there. It shouldn't cost that much; and, consider the fact when people need to go, THEY NEED TO GO!!! No parking, and plenty of parking on the side streets. Take yourself and your kids to a better park. The closest park is Woodbridge park. It's a lot nicer, cleaner and more activities to do. Newly renovated too...

They represent my vision of what I experienced at The Japanese Garden. When Dr. Kawana, a renowned architect who designed over a dozen major Japanese gardens in the United States, planned this particular garden to take advantage of an adjacent water processing facility , he wanted to create surprise and peace in people as they entered and moved around the garden. That surprise around every corner is what one experiences as we follow the path laid out to take the sojourner from the beginning to the end, which is really completing a circle. Each part of the gardens has a different design, purpose and meaning and all of it is symbolic, reflecting the great gardens of 18th and 19th century Japan, belonging primarily to the aristocracy. Now we ordinary folks can enjoy the serenity that was once reserved for the very few. Walking purposely and meditatively through an oasis like this is called Kinhin. Plan to circumnavigate the property slowly. For a mere few dollars, you can spend a quiet morning or afternoon re-charging, right in the middle of the urban fray that is Los Angeles. Tillman and designed by UCLA professor Dr. Koichi Kawana, it opened in 1984 with a message in mind- recycled waste water can sustain new life. The result was a landscape of lotus and ponds, home to wildlife from mosquito fish to egrets. Meanwhile in the backdrop, pumps as wide as 8 feet in diameter are elevating sewage to be treated. The crowd was sparse on a weekday, ideal for a leisurely stroll. From the Shoin Building, a series of screen windows look out into the vast garden. It's an opportunity for rest and reflection. Operating hours are 9:30 am to 3:30 pm M-Th and one Sunday a month. Admission is $5 per adult. Restrooms, including gender neutral ones, are behind the Shoin Building. No filming allowed of any kind without a FilmLA permit, even on a phone for personal use. Seems overly restrictive by modern standards. Photos are fine if not posed/professional. This lush Japanese garden is fed by 6 million gallons of reclaimed water a day, making it unlike any other. You wouldn't know by looking at it, and that's the beauty.

Once you get there, it feels quiet and relaxing, almost like you're not in LA anymore. There are a lot of trails depending on what kind of walk you want, plus many picnic tables if you want to bring food and spend a few hours there. The main lake is beautiful, but my favorite part is the smaller pond with turtles, ducks, and huge koi fish. The animals are very used to people and come pretty close, which makes it really fun to watch. If you walk higher up near the fire station, the views are amazing. There's also an amphitheater and a small museum area that I still want to visit next time Everything feels clean and well maintained, including the restrooms, and they even have water for dogs if you come with your pet. Overall, it's just a really peaceful place with a calming atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you want a little nature escape without driving too far from the city.
