We were lucky enough to find parking pretty quickly and close to the walkway to the beach. We started walking towards the beach and as soon as we got out of the mangroves, we saw how busy it actually was. It was tricky finding a spot on the beach, but we did a little down the way. The water was still freezing, even though it was super hot outside and people of course were looking for shark teeth everywhere. I found a few teeth until my shifter broke and decided to stay for a little longer and then headed towards Siesta Key. It was so busy as soon as we left someone filled our spot. It is a beautiful beach and definitely worth a trip if you haven't been.

I was warned it would be hard to find parking, but we lucked out. We walked to the part of the beach we wanted then stepped on the sand. In our sandals. The sand was so hot. Not a little hot so just keep moving and you will be fine. It was so hot that two of the kids refused to run across the sand the 15 feet to the water. I was surprised none of us had blisters from the hot sand touching our feet. Somehow we made it to the water and all rejoiced in the cool water soothing our skin. Once we all started feeling better, we walked down to a part of the beach that was not as populated and set up camp. After an hour of swimming, we started looking for sharks teeth. This is a very nice quiet secluded beach located down the street from the main Venice Beach. I like…read moreit because of it being quiet secluded and relaxing. There's no parking, but down the street is public parking so we dropped off our stuff here with me and my husband parked. I love these kind of beaches that are off the beaten path. It's the true definition of beach, beach, chill, and relaxed. Since this is not Siesta Key, the sand is quite different. There are a lot of sand pieces and it feels a lot like gravel. But I'm not looking for that powder sand, I'm looking for the chill beautiful all natural which this is it!

This Pier had some work done it after the hurricanes and its safe and easy to walk on. It's free to walk out on it and the views are spectacular. While we were out on it, we saw a Dolphin playing in the surf. This pier is a great place for pictures, and we took plenty of then. One end of this pier starts at Sharky's Restaurant and ends with lots of Fishing spots. You can walk from one end to the other easily. Make sure you take a walk out on this pier just for pics. They also have a bathrooms in the parking lot and outdoor showers to rinse off. The beach is nice, but the sand is pretty rough and filled with broken shells. The fishing pier is just a pier where you can walk out and fish if you want. There is a little stand that sells bait, snacks, and souvenirs. Overall a nice place to check out for shark teeth and shells.

We know now to avoid the beach on Easter Friday! That aside, we did find some shark's teeth, which was nice. The sand is not as pretty as other beaches in SWFL, but the water was pretty. The waves were pretty strong, but people were still in the water. The beach was packed, especially when we left around 2:30. We would return, but still prefer Casperson beach while in Venice.

It's mostly soft white sand with some shelly areas, which are great for shelling and looking for shark teeth. The blue green water is very clear and serene. For your convenience, they have plenty of free parking, clean bathrooms, and a concession serving hot dogs, burgers, cheesesteaks, ice cream, and beverages. A few picnic benches are available and there is even a dog wash area. To access the beach go down the sidewalk and over the boardwalk to the other side of the dune. There is about a 75 yard wide section of the beach where your dogs can roam. It's tough for large dogs to really get a long run. If you want that this beach is not for you. To do that you have to go to a non-lifeguard beach access in OBX.
