Please DO NOT use them. Mike was recommended to me by a friend as I wanted to remodel a bathroom in my condo. The project that Mike assured me would only take a few weeks instead took several months. There were repeated issues and delays as Mike failed to submit the proper paperwork and get the correct city permitting (as required by my HOA). There were large periods of inactivity where I didn't know if/when a worker would arrive, and getting responses from Mike or his office was a constant hassle with poor communication. That being said, when the work was finally done it was satisfactory. Fast forward a few years and I go to sell the condo, only to discover that Mike failed to finalize all city permits as he was required to do. I was unable to sell the condo while the permits were still open. My realtor, attorney and I spent nearly two months trying to get Mike and his office assistant Ashley to close out the old permits. They refused to return phone calls or emails, and again repeatedly messed up the permitting process, all while refusing to do anything unless I paid for the permits that they failed to initially obtain. While my general expectations for a GC in South Florida are low, there HAS to be a better group to work with than these people. I nearly lost the sale of my condo due to their negligence and/or incompetence, and only the threat of legal action got them to do the bare minimum as required by the contact I signed with them several years prior. read more

This company, South Florida, Construction in Pompano Beach, did a terrible thing to us. Two months after the full construction was completed and the owner / company was paid in full, I was notified by their plumbing subcontractor, who they hired, that South Florida Construction, and the owner, Mike Eid, would not pay them or return their calls, and because of this and some awful unfair law, the plumbing company that South Florida Construction, owes the money to is going to lien MY property unless they are paid. I have nothing to do with their transaction; My part in this had been paid in full on time two months ago, however, because the contractor doesn't want to pay their subcontractor, we the homeowners have to suffer and be penalized. If how this contractor operates. We are angry and sick over this, and in disbelief that there is such a law that the property owner is responsible for the contractors debts. I'm hoping to bring awareness to the actions of this contractor because I wish somebody had let us know that this is the way they operate read more

We did work as a sub contractor for this company. It took over 5 months to get paid on a $225 invoice. I would be extremely cautious if you are doing bigger projects with them. I dealt with Ashley Worley and Susan Dabbs. I tried to reach Michael, the owner, but he was never available. I've never had a company be so unprofessional. Kept me on hold for long periods of time and never returned my calls. Promised to be paid time and time again and never received payment. Finally got paid today 12/23/2021 on an invoice dated 7/12/2021....unreal. read more

I hired South Florida Construction in October 2021 to complete a small project which included: replacing doors and trim and some painting. It is May 7, 2022 and the job in my apartment is still not completed. In addition to not having my condo work finished and celebrating four holidays with my home being a construction site.. they damaged my vinyl floor by cutting the trim against my new floor. I showed Mike, the owner, the floor cuts and he acknowledged the damage and even fired the employee involved.. But, that's where his commitment to resolving the problem stops. He and his company have done nothing to address this problem as the flooring is no longer available( it was installed only 2 years ago) and I have asked repeatedly for them to put an insurance claim against their policy to replace my floor. They are incredibly unreliable, unethical and have basically disappeared for several months. I've continued to initiated email contact to get things addressed and nothing gets resolved. I'm prepared to file a lawsuit on Monday to remedy this problem where South Florida Construction has not met the contact requirements and instead provided shoddy work, breach of contract and damage to my apartment. read more

Basically at the time there were some serious concerns and the job cost about 20% more due to their lack of investigations during the bid. I was too dumb at the time to know better, but I learned the hard way. I think that I got lucky with them because Pete treated us decent but the owner Mike is a total crook the way I see it. I heard too many bad stories with them. I have to credit them for finishing my job and I love my kitchen but if I had to do it over, their rep would steer me clear of them. Save yourself the headaches! For a $26k project, their work quality was hit or miss. They broke things and never replaced them, despite promising to do so. The new shower door they installed leaked water all over the bathroom and hallway. They said they couldn't fix it because they didn't know how to do bathroom tile repair. A GC that can't do bathroom tile?? I had to find someone else to fix their mess and finish their work. Even worse, several times the owner, Mike, demanded $1000s in immediate payments with no schedule or prior notice, giving a sob story of not being able to pay his employees. After paying multiple times with no notice, I finally refused due to outstanding issues that were still not fixed. He yelled obscenities at me as he stormed off and slammed my door. We have employed 4 contractors in the past and so have become knowledgeable about the workings of remodeling. This latest project was adding a concrete entry/foyer to our home. This was the best experience by far. We are so pleased that it came out perfectly; on schedule and on budget. Just as important was the office staff, who called to keep us up to date on the daily schedule and the workers who were professional, hard working, on time, and neat. Worst contractor we have ever dealt with. A simple shower door turned into a nightmare. Broke tiles in our shower (that we had to repair). 2 incorrect shower doors ordered. When installing broke parts. My husband had to tell them how to hang the doors!! When finally installed we had to take apart and re-install ourselves. If it would be possible to give this place 0 stars I would. Today My family and I had an appointment for an initial consultation/ estimate for a complete renovation in our entire home. We purposely arranged to be available for this mid day estimate. Our appointment time came and went, after Mike was over an hour late we called the office, The receptionist informed informed us she would contact him and get back to us, 40 minutes later she calls back only to report that "Mike wouldn't be to our home for another hour because he was tied up with other estimates." This place has "Extremely poor business practices." We never received a call in advance to acknowledge our appointment and that Mike would be 3 hours late, nor any consideration for our time. As if we hadn't anything better to do but wait for hours on end. Had we not contacted them, they wouldn't have bothered to give us a call??! If this is how they treat potential customers I can only imagine the problems they have with customers. Mike can certainly spend all the time he needs with others and we will certainly recommend avoiding this company to save yourself a future headache! read more

The subcontractor Fabio Flores working under this company's license took almost two years to finish a kitchen, floor, ​and bathroom remodeling job of a one bedroom apartment. The permit had to be renewed once. The job was incomplete​ since there is a hole uncovered under the kitchen cabinets​. Multiple calls were placed to fix an obstruction in the toilet and the piece of the cabinet that was missing. The bathroom took two months to get fixed, the piece of the cabinet missing never was fixed. When I texted the main office an offensive text was sent back. The job was never properly finished. The subcontractor stopped answering​ my texts and calls and refuses to return my keys. According to them: " I should change the locks and leave them alone". read more

I originally hired South Florida Construction to perform renovations to my recently purchased condo. The unit was 45 years old and in need of significant renovations. The first phase of renovations included the demolition of most of the interior of the unit, a new kitchen, 2 new bathrooms, new tile, new doors, new hurricane sliders, the removal and rebuilding of several interior walls, custom carpentry, painting, etc. I re-hired South Florida Construction to complete the second phase of renovations which included additional tile work, hurricane doors, additional carpentry and painting. All the renovations have been completed and look beautiful. I would not hesitate to hire this company for all of your construction needs. read more
