Previously based in Leeds, it relocated to Sheffield (which is a shame as I live near Leeds), but it's still worth the journey for the well-kept animals and invaluable advice you will receive. Chaz is willing to spend time with his customers, even if they only bought a £2.50 bag of substrate he will offer any help you might require. The animals are simply stunning and very well cared for, and you can be assured of their quality. Well worth a visit!

I plan on visiting this store a lot more as unlike some it's not over priced as I have resonantly purchased one of the nicest crested geckos I have seen in a while. Not only has it got great live stock the owner knows his stuff and trust me on that, the advice and help he offered me was amazing, the way he went around his business didn't seem like a job it seemed like a passion of his. And all animals looked healthy and were obviously handled often as they are so calm and happy being Handled. If you are into or beginning looking after reptiles this is the place to go, I especially recommend this place as I have been to many others and this is by far is the best.

One of the worst shops for buying animals and so called knowledge. There's been two occasions I've…read morehad to butt in a correct staff from sharing false information to a naive customer. One staff member though it was ok to sell 3 gold fish and a 5 gallon fish tank, goldfish grow big and a tank that size is plain cruelty and abuse for one, let alone 3! The staff member scowled at me because I interrupted her sale. Reported her to her manager and nothing was done as they are still pushing too small of tanks with goldfish onto customers. Another occasion when they started selling reptiles, yet didn't sell thermostats! I asked why to get "they don't need them" excuse me?! Any serious keeper would 100% tell you otherwise. Heat mats can and will severely overheat and cook your reptile and kill it. After a while they stopped selling reptiles (wonder why that is?!) They are ok for food and supplies, but when it comes to animals then stay well alone as it's not just the bad advice, it's also quality of the animals as they buy animals in large bulk which increases the chance of unwell individuals. I had a crested gecko from them once and died within 24 hours even though ones I have from good quality breeders are thriving wonderfully!

The staff are always friendly and helpful and will show you where things are if need them to. When we were thinking of buying a rabbit the staff gave us lots of information such as everything we would need to care for it and some advice on how to look after it which is good as they aren't just selling them to anyone.

He mainly does chinchilla, degus, rat etc cages made out of wire and metal, but these can start at just carry cages right up to breeding cages, he will sit and work out exactly what you want and need and does it all for a really good price, agreed in advanced and can even deliver. His work is always to a extremely high standard and i have even had a few cages off him, they last forever and always look like new. He also has a pet supplies shop on site which is fantastic for all your pets stuff from the usual dogs and cats to the more unusual animals.

Jollyes has over 40 stores nationwide, with its Selby branch, only opened a couple of years but already well established within the community. As a superstore there is a vast range of pet foods, Life stage Nutrition, pet toys, cages, bedding and accessories. We shop in Jollyes regularly since we brought our 'Mr Buttons', a daft black Labrador. We visited the store with the children for advice on nutrition, feeding and treats (children wanted to feed it everything they ate..). The staff were so helpful even though we didn't buy anything the first time. For us we were shown the option of frozen fresh foods or for a balanced diet with little fuss the dried food variety that was also ideal for use with training. Best pet supplies shop in Selby without a doubt!

Purchasing a fish tank may seem easy, but it isn't. Massive choice, but not a lot of stock. I…read morebought from one online/retail park supplier, and when the tank arrived it was broken. The last one in the country apparently, so off down to another retailer which had nothing but small plastic. Then to Jolley's, where we have been going for years, but not for fish tanks. We were helped from the moment we got into store to the moment we left by very friendly and obliging staff, who took time and trouble to find us what we wanted, and get it into our car. I believe that the assistants name was Mel, but I could be wrong. We will be dealing with them in future, probably without exception. 2 July 2018. David
