They returned my call on Sunday for a Monday afternoon appointment. I went with them as it showed good ratings plus veteran owned. I like to help out veterans also free estimates so no commitment at the time. Well it was a 2 hour window. No 1 came. I was told they call me when on their way. So I waited 30 minutes more and called them. The same lady who scheduled me said they were running behind on a big job and as long as id be home they could still come out today. I said thats fine im home. About 20 minutes later I get a call from Precision Garage Door asking my issue. I said I didn't call you I called Champions. I was told by her they partner together at times. So I tell her the issue n verify my address and she says between the 2 companies they will have a tech at my home soon. About 20 min later a guy calls to verify my address and says he is on his way for my garage door. Little did I know they now put my information out to a 3rd party. Im thinking its someone from my initial contact or their partner Precison. My hubby opens up for him. Im in the bathroom. Not 5 mins later my husband comes in and says this guy says its 175 for him to have come here and when I go out he is on a ladder opening my opener n poking it with a screw driver. Says its our computer board died in it and we need a new opener. Im like you can give me an estimate for 1 and we will get back to you. He is like well you owe me 175 so let's see the best price I can get you from my boss n you can use it towards the opener. Im like but you offer free estimates. N o we dont he said. I said its on your website. He pulls up his website...Bam...my 3rd company. I didn't tell you to come here. We'll someone did. Let me call my boss. Now he calls his boss talks in Hebrew. Then hands me the phone n the boss says 575.00 installed. I said thats with labor and warranty no other fees? He said yes. So I did it bc I figured they are already wanting 175 from me for nothing. So this gets better. Half way through it, he tells me my 8 rollers are bad and its 32.00 a roller and if I dont replace them they won't warranty the garage door opener. Now IM FUMING! I HAVE HALF OF A GARAGE DOOR OPENER INSTALLED AND ANOTHER EXPENSE. THIS IS WHY I WANT ESTIMATES FIRST! SO NOW MY BILL IS SHORT OF 900.00. THEN HE INSTALLS MY WALL PAD A VERY SMALL 1 UPSIDE DOWN ON THE WALL AND HOLDS IT UP BY BLK ELECTRIC TAPE. I ASKED HIM TO FIX IT. HE SAID THATS THE BEST HE CAN DO. LOOK MAM IT WORKS....IM FURIOUS!!
