I hate to post this review but after what happened to my hair at this salon, I'm absolutely mortified. My first visit to the salon was great, my hair turned out beautiful after a color and cut. The second time I visited the salon, I asked for balayage which I would quickly regret. After 25 minutes of having the color in my hair, it started burning and steaming to the point I couldn't handle it. After I tracked down the person doing my hair, he rushed me to the sink to rinse it out. The color ended up being brassy and definitely not what I expected. Over the next few days, my long beautiful hair started breaking off in chunks. Now I'm stuck with short patches of hair all over my head. It looks terrible and I'm unable to wear my hair down. I contacted the salon after I realized my hair was falling out and they refunded me for the color and quickly apologized which is great but it doesn't fix my hair. Hopefully this never happens to anyone else. read more

I was in the process of trying to grow my hair out, but as the 90 degree days started early this year. I knew that it was a futile mission. Nothing worse than a sweaty neck with barely enough hair to pull into a pathetic ponytail. (No offense to Steven Seagal) So I opted for a pixie cut. I chose to go to Autumn because she was sporting a pixie in her staff photo. Found out she was at the same awkward "growing out" stage so she completely sympathized with me. After much chopping and whacking she said "how's that?" and I was less than thrilled. Just wasn't what I had envisioned. So she kept working away even while her next appointment was waiting. As I paid and left I still had a lingering doubt if it was going to work for me... BOY WAS I WRONG! Turns out this cut is one of the BEST CUTS I've ever had. I came in at 6 on a Friday hoping they would be available but I was not counting on it. Eric agreed to stay late and took on my hair at 7 PM. I usually dont like to talk at the hair salon. For my wedding last May he put extensions in my hair and through the wedding, the beach, the mountains and all sorts of activities they stayed so beautiful and I felt great wearing them. I was a loyal customer for over a year, then one day I went in to get my hair colored and my stylist was so overbooked that he didn't even bother to dry my hair. When I went home to dry it myself, the color was completely botched, and ORANGE. I called to have it fixed but the stylist was too busy to get me in any time soon, and didn't apologize or offer to give me my money back. So disappointing. I've been going to source Salon for several years now. When I first moved here from NYC I had a really hard time finding someone who took the time to do the level of fine highlighting that I was used to. Suffice it to say I went thru a few. But the day I walked thru the doors of Source, I finally hit paydirt. I highly recommend my colorist, Majken. She knows her color, she's highly detailed and she spends the extra time to weave the hair strands as finely as necessary to achieve a natural-looking effect. Trust me - you will not be disappointed Also worth mentioning is that going to Source is a fresh and pleasant experience because the minute you walk thru the door you feel like you're in a spa. The gently fragranted air and the Asian motif, work together to make you feel very calm. The atmosphere is not chaotic (as I find some salons) and the staff is consistently and genuinely friendly (I believe it's because they are happy here). Lastly, now that I have used Aveda coloring, I know that wherever I go or move, I will always seek out an Aveda salon; it's super-gentle on the hair and it looks very natural. read more

Wow this place really surprised me. Eddie did my hair fixed a botched layering made it look perfect in the back and trimmed my split ends and boy was it reasonable -40 dollars?? And then he did my color on Sunday and it was perfect balleage he takes his time but result is great it was only 75 for color. I am normally not a fan of Aveda salons too many beginning students doing your hair but Eddie is An artist and was an actual artist before becoming a stylist and it shows it in his work. From the moment I walked into the salon everyone was so nice and welcoming. I brought in a picture of exactly what I wanted for a haircut and Ronnie (my stylist and owner) knew right away what I was looking for. After years of searching for the perfect formula and stylist, Jason is the best with blondes. He is also very friendly and makes the experience entertaining.
