Extra kudos to Vicky, who was one of the friendliest people I've dealt with all year and made check-in a breeze, and Maria, who not only got my contrast IV in without bruising (now THAT is a special touch!) but also very gently corrected me without making me feel stupid when I tried to go in the CT machine backwards Needing imaging tests can be really scary... both the tests themselves and whatever health concerns require you to need the tests.....and the people at Envision are super kind and compassionate and help make the burden lighter. They have canceled my appointment twice, both times calling me on the very same day of the appointment. To make matters worse, they couldn't even give me a clear reason as to why they had to cancel. It turns out the technician was simply not available both times. When I tried to reschedule, the staff was completely unapologetic and showed zero empathy for my time. They flatly told me I would have to wait another week because the technician went on vacation. It is incredibly irresponsible to run a medical imaging center relying on just one technician who leaves patients stranded with same-day cancellations. If your time or medical care is important to you, I highly recommend going somewhere else.

Despite being told otherwise by the insurance company and the doctor's office, OBSC insists that the parents are on the hook for money they are not. They flat out do not care, because they know that parents will travel across the country for this treatment, and if they have to get more than one treatment, OBSC can hold off the scheduling of future treatments over the parents' heads until the Center has properly shaken down the parents. Even after being told by the insurance company in no uncertain terms that OBSC is wrong for doing so. It's shameful. Or, as they told us this week, "it's a business."

I am extremely claustrophobic and my Ortho doctor referred me to an open MRI facility for my…read moreshoulder. Even with Valium I panic so I couldn't make it through it. I did some research and found an Upright MRI that looked like a machine that would work for me. Nothing hovering above my face and I was sitting upright. This facility was 75 miles away, but I was willing to try. The technician Carlo was very professional and explained the whole process. I was so comfortable and done in 30 minutes. The front desk was also helpful. I never heard of these machines before, but there should be more of them.

MRI experience was good; however report and images are problematic! Report due in 48 hours .. did…read morenot show up until 72 hours. Images are not done on disc. You're given a QR code to view on your phone (???) and if you want to download images, you must have a microsoft computer and software. Images do not download to Macbook Pro computers and staff is not helpful on a work-around. My doctors keep saying, ".. where's the disc?" .. so medical personnel I am using are not familiar with their "CryptoChart" software! Not sure I would recommend them for these reasons!

I went to Vein and Laser yesterday for the first time, for a tattoo removal consultation. After the…read moreprocedure was thoroughly explained to me by the nurse (Bea), I decided to go ahead with the laser treatment on my arm and leg. Bea did such a wonderful job of making me feel more at ease, as I was fairly nervous. She explained the numbing process and constantly checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay throughout, which gave me a sense of comfort. She did not rush the procedure at all. I am prone to anxiety, and Bea's kindness and professionalism helped me get through it. Also, the laser portion of the treatment was truly painless! Upon completion of the procedure, I was sent home with a packet of after-care instructions, ice packs, and all the supplies needed to bandage up & care for the areas that were lasered while they heal. I am confident that I have finally found the right place to remove my tattoos once and for all, which is such a relief. There are several tattoo removal clinics out there, but based on my prior experiences and comparison to my great appointment at Vein and Laser, I'm not certain of their effectiveness or legitimacy. I highly recommend this office, as your care will come from a medical doctor and RN. Yes, it is a bit of an expense (yet not outrageous!) but worth it for the high-quality laser equipment and the extra care received!

The waiting area is clean and cozy inviting, the lighting is just right (no bright or dreary hospital lighting), and they have cool x-ray artwork on the walls. Basically the calm that's needed prior to heading in for an MRI. The good thing about this place is the fact that it's a part of the North Shore Hospital system, so they take my insurance. Located near the entrance of Stir Crazy, from the time I talked with the receptionists on the phone to confirm my appointment, to the time I left after my appointment, I was treated like gold. This is where you want to go for mammograms, MRIs, etc. No yucky hospital environment. Today I had a scheduled MRI for my foot. I woke up feeling super crappy today, and it turns out for some weird reason every time the machine vibrated my leg and foot began to spasm. A 20-minute MRI turned into a one-hour and 20 minute session, and I was told to have my doctor order up some Valium for me and come back tomorrow. The technician was the sweetest most patient human being on the planet with me today. She had me propped in every position possible to capture pics of my foot, but no go. First foot straight up with headphones and no music. Then foot straight up with headphones and music. Then foot turned to the side no headphones. Then extra blankets in case I was chilled. Then on my stomach with foot propped in another position... and all without causing any additional pain to my foot! I've had an MRI before - a long time ago back in the dark ages of MRIs where they had the super long scary full-body tube. Thankfully only my foot had to go into the tube. I learned they don't make the old tubes anymore, and in fact here it is a 3/4 size tube and completely state of the art. Today I left super frustrated needing my results. I ordered up my first-ever dose of Valium, and hopefully they will get back to me so I can try it all over again.
