Thanks to a Transatlantic Cruise, we found ourselves in Toulon for a few hours on a November Monday. After much wandering, we were drawn to this restaurant despite the American-sounding name. Soul Kitchen? In France? Note the name on our receipt says Sarl Mougin, so
I'm guessing they put out the Soul Kitchen sign when the cruise ships come around?
Anyway, we sat outside in a delightful square and happily whiled away an hour or so drinking wine and eating delicious food. Husband had Steak & Frites while I had a wonderful chicken dish with potatoes and pepperoni. Mmmmm! Service was definitely on the slow side by American standards, but that didn't matter to us as we were on French-vacation time and loving it!
Prices for the quality were not bad. You get a lot more wine for the dollar in France then we did the next day in Spain. :) read more
