They were open on a Saturday morning. They were the ONLY recycler who was available. Not sure why nobody else was willing to take my cans and bottles. At any rate, efficient, pleasant people, and the folks who were waiting with me were very pleasant. I had to move their bins about 25 yards because of how busy they were. Wish they were open even earlier, but that is a mild complaint. read more

I go to sos recycle monthly and ALWAYS have a good experience. I have been to multiple locations and the staff is friendly and facility is clean. I would recommend sos for your recycling needs! read more

They are very rude. They act like they own the parking lot. They think you can't hear what they say about you. The kid with the glasses has a complex apparently and doesn't understand how customer service works. He obviously just wants to look cool in front of his friends who work there too. Just very disrespectful crew to be honest. I don't even recycle for the money, but for the better good and I don't appreciate the treatment. read more

I go to the Stockdale location and I love this recycling center! Alberto and Frank were very helpful and efficient. The area is always super clean and welcoming! I will always come back here with how friendly the staff is & how fast they get you helped! read more

I am a paying customer here. There service to me was poor. Poor attitude. Davean dosent like questions or helping customers. He must not like tips either. Please have a talk with this associate. I only go here because it's on the way to my son's school. My experience today will definitely direct me to the next nearest recycling center. Value is somewhat lower as well. read more

When I went, they refused to accept recyclable bottles that were plastic. I returned later and watched the people that were working, remove the bottles from the trash and put them into the recyclable materials. Therefore they not only lied, but stole from me and countless others. read more

My in-laws usually take all the CRV stuff down to L.A. I asked them why they just did not take them somewhere in Bakersfield since they live here. So anyways, I took the containers they had saved to SOS Recycle center. Separated the glass, plastic, and aluminum into their respective assigned barrels. Then dragged the barrels to the line. Luckily, I got there before the crowd showed up. Otherwise, I would of been waiting awhile because several vehicles arrived after I got to the front of the line. Gentleman told me that it can get very busy especially on Saturdays. Anyways, we did our part to help the environment. We got money for the CRV. I don't know if they give the best rates for the CRV returns, but I trust that it was fair. The gentleman who helped me was cool. I think that I'll be taking our recycling business here from now on. read more

SOS Recycle Centers - Follow instructions - Recycling Center Near Me - Bakersfield, California

The man working was extremely rude. As he was taking my bottles and cans, another vehicle showed up behind me and he complained and said "are you f*cking kidding me?" This is your job dude. Also, he didn't weigh any of my glass and wouldn't take any of my milk jugs. I feel like I should've gotten more than $20 for 10+ bags of recyclables. This place is a joke and I'll never be back. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Terrible attitude, terrible value, and just not worth the time. read more

No one is here. It's not even 3pm on a Wednesday and no one is here. I drove here to recycle and because of the reviews, but no one is here. Aggravating! read more

I've visited multiple times and it's been poor service, rude, and not very helpful. One incident that continually sticks out was during covid times. This is an outdoor area - they pressed customers extremely hard about being 6' apart and didn't allow customers to touch their containers without a mask on. I never returned after this craziness. read more

Not sure why anyone would have cause to post a negative review of this business. They've always gone above and beyond what they have to, from the owner down! The kids working there aren't overly social or anything like that but they ALWAYS do the job I come to them to do and more. In my mind that's the most I can ask of a business. Been giving this place my recycling business for a long time and plan to do do for a long time to come!!! read more

I took 10 / 39 Gallons Trash Bags, Fill to the top. 2 were fill with cans, at least 20 pounds each. And the other 8 we're filled with plastic, At least 10/ 15 pounds Ea. And all l got was $109. Dollars, $10..50 Ea. Bag. They don't let you see the weight for ea bucket. So you have to take them for their word. I got totally rip off!. I had decided not to go there any more. Before this incident, l would take at least 6/ 13 Gallons Trash Bags of plastic and 1/ full Bag of cans get $27 to $34 Dollars. That adds up to 2/39 Gallons Bags. This was very disappointing. Especially when you can't prove it , Thats why they don't want you to see the total weight That's a real motivation killer for my Kids. read more
