First time it was a really good and relaxed experience which I prefer. The second time I went here it was crowded and noisy with many families and children lying about on the floor since the queue for the cash register is very close to the tables. The acoustics in here doesn't help and it becomes it is hard to have a conversation when it is this busy. So i guess it is a mixed bag, on any other day but the day mentioned above (lunch time Saturday) I would recommend it.They have a nice interior and you can buy all kinds of ecological beverages, bread and wines to go and they do offer both lactose free milk and soy milk.

But nevertheless, here it goes: Ulrik and I were out strolling about when he said he really wanted a roast pork sandwich - and the first place popping into mind was Meyer's! Way to go sealing that trade mark :-) Anyway, we were close to the Gammel Kongevej branch and although this is one of the least cosy ones, they still serve a mean pork roast sandwich, so what the heck - we gave it a go. We came in and the place was as noisy and soulless as ever, but we had our eyes fixed on the prize. After ordering drinks, the first thing that went wrong was discovering that the roast pork sandwich is only a lunch menu option - seriously, guys: this is why customers come from near and far - make it an all-day-offer! Anyway, slightly disappointed Ulrik chose the second best, a good old Danish favourite, roast pork with parsley sauce and new Danish potatoes, while I convinced the waiter to serve me two portions of the kids plate, the filet of plaice with rye bread and remoulade, to make up a grownup size (how many kids actually eat this anyway?). To finish it off with something, we ordered one of the caramelized pretzels to go. Verdict: The roast pork was great, crispy, full of flavour and just beautiful; the plaice was slightly less good, a bit wobbly rather than crisp and lacked a bit of taste but still quite decent; and the pretzel was quite the disappointment, tasting old, rubbery and crisp and all together really odd so that went in the trash. The service was spot on, great guy - you just want to hug him. So why only the 3 stars? - I really don't like the place. It's such a crying out shame that you feel you're sitting on the main track at the train station trying to talk through the din and noise. I ended up getting the Raspberry Meringue and Kartoffelkager, in Danish it translates to potato cake (thanks Duolingo), the only potato in the cake is potato flour. The kartoffelkager was so good, the layers of light vanilla cake, whip cream and finally marzipan that is coated in some dusting of chocolate, makes it look like a potato too. Ugh, such a delicate and tasty dessert without being too sweet! The raspberry meringue was huge, it had the right amount of sweetness and tang from the raspberry, I put the rest in my purse to snack on later. I also ended up getting a couple of souvenir treats, mini passionfruit meringue and delicate little cookies. The cashier was really sweet and explained things to me as I ordred. Plus there were little tables around the stand to enjoy your treat, I am hoping we can come back to Copenhagen next year and I hope to have another sweet treat at Sweet Valentine!

Coffee and desserts are most of the offerings here but we were here for the Irish Coffee. I don't have this drink often but really enjoyed their version. Nice balance of Whiskey and coffee-definitely hit the spot. Service was friendly and fast. The desserts looked delicious so we will be back!

It's often a lot of people outisde, and it's a nice neighbourhood. The food however, is not good at all. You can buy four dishes for take away. When I tried it, the rice in one of the dishes was so overcooked that I couldn't eat it. I tried the other dishes, a wok with vegetables, and all the vegetables in the dish where the one you buy really cheap frozen in the supermarket. It was just really bad. After that I haven't bought food there anymore, and several of my friends have had the same experience. So, it's okey for wine and coffee outside, but not for food.

It's grime-y in a charming way but stay away if any grime bothers you. It's dingy on the inside with some nice sidewalk seats, but reeks of old cigarettes either way. Lots of folksjust hanging out for some drinks and people watching. For this they had high chairs and baby friendly. The service is great. They give of the air of not GAF but are actually attentive and charming. Food came or relatively quickly on a Friday night which was good with a hungry child. They were happy to explain things on the menu and even suggested a few things for substitution. Funnily everyone comes into the restaurant, loclas and tourirsts alike, acting confused where to sit or if there's a queue and after a dramatic pause the barkeep tells them to sit wherever and right on. The food was good. The menu looks very basic and doesn't do the food justice. The 3 salads accompanying each meal are listed without description or fanfare. You don't know which ones you'll get. We got four different ones in combination for two entrees. Even the chicken satay we ordered for our little one came with two salad sides. Two out of four were great, the others bland. Each salad is about 1/4 of a cup, fairly small. The sesame seaweed with ginger and heirloom tomato salads rocked. The guacamole (really just smash avocados without seasoning) and cabbage salad (no dressing, plain with two honeyed almonds on top) were uninspiring. We got the Manilla tofu and beef lasagna as the main dishes. The Manilla tofu was cooked just right with great sauce and an ample portion of protein compared to your average Nordic experience. The beef lasagna was decadent. It was more reminiscent of mousaka than lasagna, cheesy, pillowy, creamy, and very thin Al dented pasta. Not a whole lot of meat but very flavorful and filling. The drink list was pretty good. I had a nice primotivo for only 55 Kr. Whole bottles are reasonable finds at good prices. They also serve half bottles I'm carafes. Good brew selection too. Prices were fair for the fare. Much less expensive than many surrounding restaurants. Overall, great spot. Good to hang or eat. Not pretentious but just good enoufh food.
