The owner of Noisette, David Menard, is a fifth generation Baker from Brittany, France. And with…read morethat kind of skill, it's no wonder that his bread graces the tables of some of Melbourne's top Good Food Guide Hatted restaurants and fashionable cafes. The breads are sourdough leavened which means they are not coeliac friendly. My favourites are the whole grain sourdough, baguettes, Pain de Mie (brioche loaf), chocolate Viennoise and the garlic sourdough that has whole cloves of sweet roasted garlic. Noisette in my opinion make the best and most authentic, flaky, buttery croissant and Pain au Chocolat. Also on offer are hand made chocolates, beautiful patisserie: cakes - individual and occasion sized - macarons, danish, tarts, sable breton, brownies and more. Something that makes Noisette unique is speciality items made for French festive calendar events like Galette des Rois and Buche de Noel. David was one of the Patissier/ Boulangeres that came to Australia to start up Laurent, so you may see a similarity in the sandwiches, filled baguettes and Croque Monsieur. But I think they are much better value here plus half portions are available. You can practice your French on the cheery staff and they happen to make a decent coffee too. Is it any wonder I've been a regular since they opened?

As delicious as everything looked, we ultimately ended up splitting a BBQ platter for 1 with some pork ribs added on... and it was still sooooo much food that we left stuffed! All the meat was great, but we both agreed the pork ribs were our favorite. Outside of that, the beef rib and oink ball also stood out. One other thing that really stood out to us, was their sauces. They were fantastic! Not just what they use to cook their meats, but the side sauces. Nuclear wave was a nice habanero sauce with great smokiness and solid heat that paired perfectly with the meats. They have happy hour on certain drinks from open until 6pm on certain days, so be sure to pair a beer with it!

Such a blunt but exceptional approach worthy of the rating I gave it. Onion rings were crunchy and impressive. Wings were beuitiful. The sauce, in multiple occasions was at the perfect level, they didn't make it too strong. The big stuff was the most impressive. Despite its immense, Headstrong appearance the food was actually easy and enjoyable to eat and handle. Every single item was impressive apart from the bread, the buns. Which were boring. So you gotta use it to make a sandwich or something and make the most out of it. Wish I could of given the bubblegum milk shake a chance. Great atmosphere as well. Worthy of 5 stars. Worthy of paying the price that we paid. Excellent customer service. A wonderful experience from third wave Cafe overall.

The food is awesome. Most sandwiches and burgers are between $12-14. Absolutely worth it. The Mac and cheese toastie with caramelised onion was delicious and crispy. We also loved the poutine schnitzel (with gravy and chips) in a bagel bread roll. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for with eggplant schnitzels on offer that taste amazing. They are thinly sliced to give them a tasty crunch. The herbed Mayo with spicy sauce and rocket was delicious. Coffee is nice and served in bright yellow cups that match the venue. Indie seating is quite limited but there is plenty of big tables outside. Really cute place and we are looking forward to going again.

Hidden in the warehouse district of North Melbourne, a 7 day toasted sandwich restaurant is an odd location, but having eaten here 4 times now, I'm not alone in having discovered it. It's generally busy from 11am onwards, and there's a queue by 1pm. If you're after something light and tasty- go the Harry, if you're wanting something more substantial- the Poutine schnitzel served on a soft pretzel is great, and then for the absurd- grab a Mack Daddy- Pulled pork, Mac N Cheese between grilled cheese slices. Yep. Overall a good experience, but don't stop by if time is tight. 15-20min waits to get your takeaway goodies aren't unusual, and it's worse outside peak rush period. They're also licensed, so if craft beer and toasties are your thing, magic. Well worth a trip.
