I think this might be my favorite Korean food spot so far on my Australia food adventure.
This is what I ate :
# 46 Tok Bok Gi - Tteok-bokki - or stir-fried rice cakes is a popular Korean food made from small-sized garae-tteok, which are long , white, cylinder-shaped rice cakes called tteokmyeon. The rice cakes are coated in a spicy tteokbokki sauce and is usually made with a combination of Korean red chili pepper paste and Korean red chili pepper flakes. Boiled eggs, and scallions are some of the most commonly added ingredients. When I was in Korea I found this treat everywhere on the streets. Great street eats !
# 51 - Korean BBQ Pork - I always go pork over bulgogi ( beef ) when I'm trying a new Korean restaurant, pork has never let me down and the pork here was sweet and spicy. The presentation was a classic sizzling plate, which I always love because it makes me feel special, like all eyes on me , look what I got. Classic fajita move ! Not to mention you get all those delicious burnt bits on the bottom. Korean spicy pork has many names. Amongst many, (Spicy) Pork bulgogi, Dwaeji Bulgogi, Gochujang Bulgogi and Jeyuk Bokkeum are all well-known names.
# 37 - Hot pot bibimbap - This is my favorite way to have bibimbap. Literally meaning mixed rice. The term "bibim" means mixing various ingredients, while the "bap" noun refers to rice. Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang (a fermented soybean paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The hot dish is stirred together thoroughly just before eating. I don't stir mine. I like to self assemble while I eat. And once again you get burnt bits on the bottom. The best burnt rice I've ever had. Now that's a hot pot.
And lastly, they have two different kimchi's. they have a sweet kimchi that had cabbage, carrots, and onion and had a sweet sesame taste, and a sour kimchi that was all cabbage and was spicy with a great acidic bite.
I highly recommended this spot if you want some amazing service and some great traditional Korean food. read more
