I loved my old Dentist and hygienist, two people I've gone to twice a year for close to twenty years. I started researching Dentists that accepted my new insurance and found Dr. Fournier's office. Then, while flossing (proof I floss), I ripped out an old filling. I called this office to set up an appointment and they told me November was for hygiene checks, about five months from now. A great sign that they are busy, but I explained I had an issue. They told me they could see me sooner for that, so we set an appointment for Monday. The staff were friendly, but after meeting Dr. Fournier, I knew I had my next dentist. Her personality was amazing, bedside manner was perfect. They had to drill and fill my tooth today, no lie, I think I was out of there in fifteen minutes... She kind of joked about how I am with Dentists, am I nervous, am I okay with needles, all sorts of questions, because we don't know each other. When I was injected, she told me to breathe out and breathe in. Did that work? When I had that tooth drilled before, I teared up. Not from pain, but because that spot was connected somehow to my left eye's tear duct... Did the breathing work? Maybe? After my appointment, they told me there were some cancellations the week of the Fourth of July, so no more November check. I'll be back this month. The only two things that make me nervous are having to make a left out of that parking lot. I could make a right and find my way home, but I feel it could not be good at rush hour. No issues today. The second thing is that I have an internal dread that Dr. Fournier is going to retire someday while I still need dental work... I don't want to find someone new. I also befriended everyone in my HR department to ensure they won't switch insurance on me again...

My initial visit went well- I provided my insurance information and was provided a treatment plan detailing my costs- perfect! I was informed I would need a deep cleaning- which would need to happen in 2 sessions. I went to my first appointment early december and paid the amount outlined in the treatment plan. Easy peasy. TWO weeks later, on the eve of my 2nd deep cleaning session (and less than 15 hours before my appointment)- I received an appointment confirmation call. At the end of the call the receptionist CASUALLY mentions something about my insurance not being in network anymore and how I would now need to pay $700+ out of pocket. Girl, how are you going to call someone and drop that bomb on them 5 days before christmas? Needless to say, I cancelled the appointment and emailed them to get a more detailed explanation. Except I never got one. Instead, I received the least professional response I've ever gotten (see attached). I do not blame fresh smiles for my insurance *seemingly nowhere within a 2 week time frame deciding their office was OON* however, i DO blame them for piss poor communication. So now i sit, dentistless with half my mouth cleaned. Please be warned that while this dentist office has some of THE sweetest hygienists, and a great atmosphere, the communication here is absolute garbage between patients and their front office. Please do better!

I made an appointment for an evaluation ... confirmed it... the morning of the appointment there was some bad weather but schools were open so I went ahead to their office -- when I got there it was closed ... no one had bothered to call me. I double checked and there was no indication on their website that they were closed for the day. Then to add insult to injury I called their answering service and asked someone to please call me to explain what happened when they reopened -- of course I never heard a thing from them. Please avoid this office. So unbelievably unprofessional.

The front desk employees are clueless and careless as can be. They ignore patients and chat amongst themselves instead of assisting. I was referred by my orthodontist to get my wisdom teeth removed here in January 2020 and I have billing issues that are STILL not resolved as we approach 2022. Before I had my procedure I asked 3 times (via phone and in person) if it was completely covered by insurance beyond the few hundred dollars I paid the day of the procedure. They assured me that it would be covered and made no mention of additional costs. Well this was not the case at all and they sent the unpaid portion of my bill to COLLECTIONS ! I had no knowledge that there was even a balance because I moved and they did not call and say I had a balance. The only reason I even noticed my bill was sent to collections was because my credit card company alerted me that my score went down over 200 points! So of course I call immediately and it took DAYS and several people for them to even figure out what I was talking about because they had me in the system under the wrong birthday! I called my insurance company and it WAS NOT submitted correctly by PA Oral! It was resubmitted and within days they paid and the balance was removed from collections. Just recently however I was sent another bill with no explanation and this nightmare continues !!! AVOID this place at all cost. The front desk and billing staff are incompetence personified!

Back then she was compassionate. On time. Complimentary. She even went so far as to verbally reprimand a hygienist (who is no longer there) who repeatedly asked me if my mother got mammograms after I told her that my mother had died from breast cancer. My dad moved to the area recently and I recommended Dr Kachur to him for a dentist. His experiences were nothing but negative. She arrived late multiple times and seemed very focused on herself during conversations. This was not the doctor I knew and I couldn't believe he was having these experiences. I was a little wary when she told me last spring that she thought I was a heavy grinder and needed a mouth guard right away. This was the first time in 8 years she mentioned something. Then was a little put off when I couldn't afford to dish out the $500 to cover the cost my insurance won't pay. First red flag. Fast forward to my last appointment with her in December 2015. I went for a cleaning and to fix a filling that had chipped for the second time. Dr. Kachur showed me the colors she had shown my dad. Very abrasive emotionally and rough shoving a film in between my teeth. When I started to cry she got all defensive and walked out. Jackie one of the hygienists comforted me. I took the blame when Dr Kachur came in and said I was extra emotional due to fertility drugs I was taking at the time. I always take the blame especially in situations where I don't want to create a scene. Dr. Kachur proceeded to tell me that she had to tell her doctor years ago that her hormonal meds she took years ago made her super emotional and therefore she wanted to stop. I took this as her implication that she thought I should do the same. You don't imply that to anyone much less a woman who struggles with infertility! She also never said sorry for being abrasive with me and asked me why I was crying because she "didn't say or do anything wrong." Later that day I decided to walk away for good from this practice. I wish that all the recognition that she has gotten didn't change her personality. Because long ago she was a kind doctor. It's a sad shame. I must say that Jackie, Louise, Lily and the other people I have encountered have been nothing but kind. But the way I was treated the last time by a doctor was the deciding factor for me to leave.

I am just overwhelmed with awe, about this Dental office…read more I have not been to the dentist, I think since I was probably 15 years old. I know, bad me, lol. Fast-forward 25 years later, it was time. I am genuinely not afraid of many things, however, visiting the Dentist terrifies me... well it did terrify me, but not anymore, not after my experience at this Dental office. I'm not even sure where to begin, as this office is all around amazing! The staff is genuine. They're all nice and caring. They're communicative. They're patient and even comical. I found this Dentist office, by chance; through a google and yelp search. I found other offices to call, but something told me to make an appt here, and I'm so glad that I did. Dr. Sherpa, office is a gem. They made me feel at home and at peace. Her staff is polite, positive, and helpful. Dr. Sherpa and her staff are a combination of class, down to earth, professional and empathetic. I felt like I was at one of those family-owned Dentistry, like in one of those family movies you find on Netflix, with a golden retriever in the background. What I got done: So, my visit required me to have a filling, that I got back in college, removed and replaced with a cap. I wasn't sure what that meant, as I've never had a cap before. Dr. Sherpa conducted a short 1:1 with me, explaining to me, (words and pictures) what that would look like and what it would entail. I had some cavity there. I also had some cavity at the upper back part of my mouth/tooth. Not bad for not going to a dentist for 25 years lol. In order to get my filling removed, Dr. Sherper, had to numb my mouth. She talked to me every step of the way. She explained how it may feel, every step of the way. Here assistant was amazing and did the same. Honestly, it was not as painful as I thought it would be. Dr. Sherpa was very skilled at massaging my mouth and my gums as the numbing was happening. I'm sure she used other techniques that she developed throughout her training or career as well that helped, and I appreciate it that so much. Overall, the process was smooth. As of this review, I have seen her about three times. And will continue to do so for my routine visits, and maybe teeth whitening.
