Good food, especially the fish. Music was a little loud for conversation, but we were sitting by the speaker.

Following my trip to Windsor, I was in search for an authentic, delicious and unique dessert…read moreexperience in the iconic monarch celebrated town below the castle. Upon entry into Creams Café, I was instantly struck by the nostalgic diner decor- customised black and purple leather booths, and neon lights built into the ceiling: a real peer back through the early American 50s era. Sitting down in the light and comfortable leather booths, the menu offered a large variety of waffle, crepe, gelato and cheesecake flavours to name a few- the list continued on with endless delights. The food quality (plating presentation and taste) was upmost surprising- with the large variety of options on the menu creating the phrase 'jack of all trades, master of none' feel a possibility. However, it completely surpassed our expectations! The cheesecake authenticity was reinforced by its' rich sweet vanilla flavour paired with the soft crust biscuit base: creating an ensemble of colours, textured and flavours on the dish. The soft, cloud- like waffle base was saturated with a caramel lava pyroclastic flow; boulders of warm fudge bites surfacing on the viscous sugary goo. Running down your throat, it felt nauseous even peering at the monstrosity of a delight- though.. what do you expect for such delicately crafted dessert making? Every bite and taste was of course, top-notch delicious. The staff greeted newcomers at the entrance with, somewhat open arms- which felt almost forced and the opposite of natural my opinion? But to support the positives, the sight of the store in itself shifted the focus from the main servers' service: but enhancing the enthusiasm from 'all' staff would really spread the icing on the cake for this overall dessert haven experience. Nevertheless, they were good in their customer handling. And to note, the mainstream Café's ambient soundscape would benefit from more relevant music (with not only it representing a classic nostalgic, and retro piece of history- but also at the heart of Britain's historic culture, neighbouring the monarchs residence). Though, rewinding to the initial entry into the crazed 'Creams Café', the glaring lights beamed onto us customers- connoting a sense of interrogation- instead of the calm and vibrant atmosphere I believe they wanted to achieve. It almost created a feeling of coldness and ill, (ironic due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, as if we were embarking on a journey into a PCR testing site). However, this Café definitely tested 'positive' in my opinion. And I highly recommend this experience for any travel-goer and any downtown city bustle seeker.

Service: You seat yourself, staff will come by to give you a menu and you go to the counter to order. Otherwise, there is no service. We ordered the Rocher Sundae, chocolate cake, apple pie/ice cream and a chocolate (oreo?) waffle. Between these, the waffle was the winner. The apple pie was ok, the chocolate cake was worth ordering, the rocher ice cream looks awesome but it's really just ice cream so not that big a deal. The waffle itself was excellent and having the squares filled with chocolate was the bonus. Try it out if you are around, but no rush to come here

We couldn't resist so we walked right over. He was so funny and welcoming! I can't remember exactly what he said, but before we knew it, we were in the shop trying out even more flavors. His co-worker who was inside was just as welcoming as him! For those few minutes that we were in the store, I honest felt like I was a part of their family. We ended up buying a piece of fudge and went along with our day, but the experience stuck with us and is something we talk about even now - 2 months later! Now the fudge itself - so, so good! I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the flavors! The salted caramel is a personal favorite and double chocolate is really good too! I tend to like more of the classic flavors, but they have tons of options to choose from if you're looking for something more unique. They have a location in Cambridge as well, right across from King's College. I've had fudge from there too and while it tastes just as good, and the staff is nice, it's not quite the same as the staff at this location! I highly recommend making a stop here if you're in Windsor!

Bad experiences are more likely to be talked about? Too right... Mine and hubby's last evening meal while living in the UK before emigrating was here and it was a huge disappointment. His parents had traveled almost 50 miles to come have dinner with us and we arrived there at just after 6, made to wait 45 minutes for a table and when seated were completely ignored. After 25 minutes of not even being offered drinks we decided to then just go and que for food. Portions were tiny and when we asked as to why we were told they were running low on meat! Seriously, At just gone 7pm on a Thursday?! We were told that they will be bringing out sausages and Pie's ect and we could then go help ourselves to that as well but they never appeared. All throughout our meal no one came to see if everything was ok or offer any drinks so we ended up going to the bar and getting our own and then time to pay no less than 3 people saw us trying to get some attention and blatantly ignored us. That being said a couple of meals here have been really good hence the overall 3 stars but I would suggest calling ahead just to make sure they're not about to run out of everything!! Plus the food is really good and I can just about cope with crappy (not nonexistent) service in return for the melt in the mouth Turkey. I also liked the fact that they had their own self serve free soft drink refills so you don't have to hunt down a server for one too and if you still have space for dessert I recommend the Fruit Crumble which also comes with bottomless Custard. Mon- Sat £5.49 before 7pm. £7.75 after. Sunday's £9.25

The fish batter was a little oily, but the chips were nice. Had mushy peas for the first time. They were pretty good. Have to try them again to see if they are really better then regular peas. My wife had the Chicken and Waffles. She enjoyed it very much, but was not a fan of the bacon. I got to eat that. My daughter had the Whole Tail Scampi.
