I just do not feel they go that extra mile for thier customers, i do not come out feeling pampered as i do with the salon i now go to. i had used scalliwags for years when i was younger as they did have a good reputation etc, but i feel over the last few years they are becomming one of those salons that you consider to be rather old fashioned. I think if they gave a bit more, in customer care, even promoting thier buisness in the community more as do the other salons, then they may get more of thier old clientelle come back.

Its very small in side and is not in the nicest bit of town to be honest, as is next to a horrible nightclub and an irish club, and basically is just a side street. I have visited there a couple of times, when i could not get into my regualr salon, and had my hair done, i used thier stylist Paula and she was great, she did a good job and was very friendly. The salon is clean, although the decor especially outside could do with a bit of sprucing up.

In my opinion, getting a good haircut is priority and both Paula and David at Chicos have never let me down plus all the staff are very friendly; I'm always offered a cuppa and plenty of chat, which to me is far more important than having clinical white and stainless steel decor in a salon with a regular turn over of staff. Prices although competitive aren't silly and I would recommend giving Chicos a try if you're new to Rugby or looking to change your hair salon.

I want to preface this by saying that Klickers is highly rated and i'd been going for many years. I hadn't been in some years as I decided to grow my hair out & take a break from having it dyed which took a long time but when I decided to start going back to a hair salon I knew I wanted to go to klickers & I always raved about it to my friends. None of the hair stylists I used to have were there any longer, but that didn't bother me as it's such a lovely salon. I arrived for a consultation and the receptionist was lovely. I didn't find the stylist as warm as all of the previous ones I'd seen and the consultation was a little different, but she was confident and I knew she must be skilled to work there as they've always been fantastic and highly trained. I want to say here that she cut some of my hair off without letting me know she was going to take a sample. I understand they need a sample, but previously i'd always been asked/told before they cut my hair off so I was a little stunned. Maybe all stylists are different but this was new to me and i'd have appreciated the heads up she was about to. Then after the consultation I asked the receptionist if I needed to pay a deposit. She said no. She was then contradicted by the stylist which made me feel a little uncomfortable and told me I needed to pay £50. Then the card machine wasn't working so they asked me to go to the cash point and draw the cash out. (To be fair, it's very close by). So I did, and I fully understood that they require a deposit as I hadn't been in years and therefore I guess I was classed as 'new'. It was just a little awkward as I'd just been told they don't need one. I had to cancel but I made sure there was plenty of time. As usual the receptionist was really accommodating and rescheduled me. Unfortunately the week of my rescheduled appointment I had a string of family emergencies so I had to cancel a 2nd time and reschedule. A sibling of mine found out they had a brain tumour, then one of my parents had to go to hospital in an ambulance as there were issues with their chemo treatment. And the evening of the same day that happened my stepfather was rushed to hospital in an ambulance at 11.30pm. I was in a & e with him until at least 5am and because i'm a considerate person, I set an alarm to remind me to let the salon know (I'm glad I didn't forget, but their helpful reminder text earlier in the week meant it was still in my mind). So I rang with 24 hours notice (as their text states is the required notice) and I made sure to ring before the 24 hours, and before the time of the appointment the following day, and the receptionist was really lovely and rescheduled me. Not longer after I received a call back from the stylist personally letting me know i'd lose my deposit. Even though I rescheduled in the time they ask. I was too tired and emotionally drained to dispute it but was a little surprised as i'd just spoken to the receptionist and been rescheduled & I was sure to let them have the 24 hours notice. She continued to say how she'd lose money and need to make it up. I completely understand it was a big slot to fill. Hence why I made certain I gave them the 24 hours notice they state they need. I think that was considerate of me considering the week and night/morning i'd had. I felt this was a little unprofessional of the stylist and just gave me a bad vibe. I have a huge conscience so of course I felt bad when she continued to talk about how my cancelation was an inconvenience, but then although I get that they're running a business and my personal circumstances would possibly result in them not filling the Saturday slot, I felt it was unfair as I gave 24 hours notice. If they'd asked for 48 hours notice i'd not have been so taken aback. So because I didn't want the stylist to lose out and of course I didn't want to lose out on £50 I said 'ok, can you reschedule me back and i'll try to make it.' I feel they should clearly let people know 24 hrs notice is not enough and that you will lose a large deposit. Right now the money isn't important to me, and yes I sympathise that the stylist only had 24 hours to fill the slot, but I didn't understand why i'd lose my deposit when I wasn't a 'no show' or somebody who cancelled in less than the required time. It's a shame as this was a salon I loved & recommended for years, but although the receptionist said she could re book me after my circumstances were explained via my friend (I was too upset to call again) I won't be going back as I definitely will feel very uncomfortable. They're fantastic at doing your hair from all my years of experience going, they're highly trained stylists but be cautious as now staff contradict each other and it can become a little awkward. The salon has been updated and I was looking forward to going back but now wish I'd tried somewhere new.

Before you think I'm behind the times, sideburns should be the same either side and my only comments to him was what a t**t he looked. Following Dave's review, I must be well out of touch, so it is fair to say I shouldn't have let my son be independent, bad parent. Having asked him about his wonky sideburns he said it was not something he had requested. I, personally will not visit there, the staff are probably fantastic but I have seen about 10+ haircuts following various people going there and they were of poor standard. I'm sure other hairdressers turn out the odd disaster, so perhaps you should take my review tongue in cheek. Thanks to Dave, as well for analysing my parenting skills, I trust I will easily recognise you whilst shopping.

I am a training stylist also, however I have chosen not to work in hairdressing. When he returns from Mojo or any other place infact, all I can safely say is, that the haircut is ok. nothing special and no horrid surprises. Daves comments must be the owner?. as all of them are about the same. also noticed that both tuck and dave have only reviewed once. Esme's comments must be a competitor! as your son should have noticed his sideburns were not even and mentioned it to the stylist. I am pretty certain the staff would not have left them like that. Also, you get what you ask for! These guys cut hair day in day out and they would have cut his hair how he asked them too. Anyway, a good salon for gents and I wouldnt go by the hype of Dave or Esmes dismay above. Give it a try and choose for yourself as the rest in Rugby are about the same.

But the experience is very good as all the stylists have been working with eachother since they were yound trainees at another salon in Rugby, and have approx 15-20 years experience a peice. Because of the length of time they have all worked together the moral and teamwork in the salon is brilliant and makes you really feel at home. They always make sure you have a great experience with them, they always take your coats and the first thing they ask you is if you want tea, coffee, water, fruit teas etc etc, they even got me some champagne when i got married and had my hair done there. In my opinion and experience the best stylist there is a women called Emma, she is brilliant and in my opinion definatly the best coulourst in rugby, she is very attentive and really makes you feel relaxed, i swear to god when she washes your hair and gives you a head massage you literally have to try with all your might not to fall asleep, its heavenlyi have actually said she should just charge people to come in and have a head massage. I usually have a trim and colour and hair treatment and that normally costs around about 50 gbp, but it all depends on what you have dependent on the costs. The salon is decorated in a liliac and crome color sceme and is always spotlessly clean. They have some great art on the walls also made from a few local artists. the other stylists also are very nice, I have once had a appointement with another of their stylists, Tracey and she too is amazing, she is very energentic and funny and makes you laugh the whole time you are there, she is good at her job but i think she excels in more innovative and funky hairstyles. The owner of the salon and manager is a women called Jane and she also is really welcoming and friendly, she also helps many local charitys, and i feel the salon just oozes quality and proffesionalism. Great salon, great services, great atmosphere, great everthing - try it out you definatly will not be disapointed.

They are really cool, and i must own up to being alittle vain when it comes to my hair and they style it perfectly. they also sell some great haor products my best range is probally their fudge range. great relaxed atmosphere, really nice decor and great great staff.
