You can add the toppings like tapioca or granola based kn your preference or devour it as is. Quick service and no frills restaurant serving quality ingredients and authentic amazonian dishes. I like asking tour guides because they have the ins and outs and of course what's good in the local scene. And couldn't go wrong with this place! It was divine!! There's a bit of a language barrier but they really tried to work with me to get my order right. I kept saying Acai Especial but I think that was something you take to-go or at home to share :) so he began showing me the bowls and I opted for the the bigger one. For R $27 I had a heaping bowl of açaí and then gave me 2 containers for toppings - 1 granola then the other some white tapioca that looked like torn styrofoam. This place is sit-down "diner" looking type and takes only cash. So make sure you have some local currency before you go!! I am so happy I was able to try some authentic açaí while in Brazil.

This is a nice cafe in Copacabana. It definitely has the most styles of coffee brews I've ever seen in Brazil. You can choose between French Press, Aeropress, Chemex (pour over), filter (via Hario V60), and all of the standard espresso varieties. The wait staff is super helpful and patient, and they are more than happy to explain to you their different roasts available as well as the differences in brewing methods. The only downside to their coffee is that even the French press and the pour over result in exactly a 8-oz serving, so you don't get a whole full French press or Chemex like you get at many cafes in the U.S. I haven't tried everything on their menu, but I personally love the waffles, they're crispy and delicious, and you can choose between a variety of toppings (my favorite is honey & butter). It's a perfect midday snack! With a whimsical colorful atmosphere, the decor is so well thought out that this cafe really almost seems out of place here in Rio. Where many cafes here seem to think of their interior design as an afterthought, here they have made it a priority. With plenty of table space and comfortable chairs, this is an excellent place to come and spend the afternoon working on a project. They also have some great desserts available and the rest of the menu, which includes soups and omelettes a and other light foods, looks amazing If you're used to the comfy cozy cafes of the U.S. and want a place to get some work done, this is definitely your spot (as long as you don't need wifi). It's also a great place to come with a friend to have a relaxed conversation.

Food was fairly priced and beer was cheap. I saw a gentleman at another table order a fish. The waiter came and de-boned the the fish and it looked delicious! I would recommend trying that. The service was good. They were able to communicate with us without a problem even though none of us spoke portuguese. The restaurant is a little crammed, but manageable.

What is a surprise I had when…read moresearching through a various menus on different restaurants ,I came across barbecue pork ribs and they also serve fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a rainy and miserable day in Rio de Janeiro and I did not feel like trogging through the wetness . I got my food via Uber Eats It was delivered hot and on time. The pork ribs were in between baby back ribs and slab ribs everything's different in Brazil. The pork was & tasted so good.It fell off the bone and easy enough for two. So in a sauce nothing like we have here in United States no mustard sauce and no tomato-based sauce something in between they call barbecue sauce..Along with french fries , portions are big enough for two people. The fresh squeezed orange juice which is found at most restaurants , I come to find out that very few actually will deliver them. Instead of having the national dish I got a bean soup black bean soup that is quite tasty though I needed to do doctored it up at having a little bit of kept hot sauce. I also had a pastel which is quite common having cheese but this one had cheese and onions very tasty. Along with the meal they serve small chunks of fried pork belly or bacon as we would call it but the pork belly was cut up and fried in about half inch cube squares. FYI..... be aware that any delivery no matter what the distance they say it will be about one hour before you actually get it. But most food will arrive at a hot reasonable temperature. When you come up with ice cream gelato or other cold things then you're just taking a chance on it being melted upon the arrival..On Uber you are able to track and know the driver, plus car- license plate , motor bike or bicycle definitely a good place to check in taste of food
