Very poor experience with this H&R Block office in Chatsworth…read more We decided to cancel our tax filing after reviewing the fees and outcome, and were told a refund would be issued. Since then, it has been nothing but delays and unclear communication. We followed up multiple times by phone and even went in person. Each time, we were told the refund would be processed "tomorrow," but that never happened. No clear timeline, no accountability--just being passed from one person to another. The lack of communication and poor management of this situation has been extremely frustrating. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location.

The communication level in this office is not good. You email and try to call but it seems you are forgotten and never receive the tax advice you need to conduct a business. I want to give Jerry the best in his semi-retirement bc he did what he could but now after months of not being with them I am beginning to see where they mishandled my paperwork and created a multitude of problems after the fact. First I am no longer with them. They dropped me bc I was not the client they wanted. It's fair. I'm not a money maker. But first it was the IRS who penalized me for a late return. The fact is that I turned everything in by early march and the office waited till the last second to submit. Bc of that and the USPS the return got there late. I was penalized and left with no tax help and had to figure out why and what happened. They did fix that problem but getting a penalty from the IRS is never fun. Secondly, they never paid the $5 fee to update me yearly with the FTB (Franchise TaxBoard). That penalty costs my business $250!! I had to resolve that matter on my own again even though they missed their due diligence and never updated that for my business. On top of that is the fact that they had to update that thru the FTB and tell the Secretary of State (CA) to update the information on the company. They didn't do that either. That information never was updated either and it is now costing me vendors who will not do business with me bc I have a suspension on my account. The bureaucracy runs deep and is very disjointed. These agencies don't talk to each other and if they do - it takes months to repair the problem due to incompetence and red tape. It's pathetic. Unfortunately I'd say move on - there are better places to get an accountant

I just contacted the Attorney General in NYc and was given the Attorney General in California.....I pulled up the information on line and submitted all the paper work. My next step is the FBI because the Tax Advocate Group is pretending to help people with their tax issues at least in my case and they do not and I understand that is illegal do I have all my papers bank statements showing what I paid to the Tax Advocate Group my loan statement from a company that was referred to me by them to pay their legal fees and they did absolutely nothing to help me. I submitted all my paper work to the AG office and I will be mailing all my paper work to the FBI to prove that I enlisted this firm to help me and they did not and they have no intentions of helping me to get my IRS back taxes reduced or eliminated.

This was the most relaxed Ive seen him after doing his taxes. Guaranteed just going to keep them as my tax accountants going forward. I dont see a reason to change.
